simplest way (set of functions) to parse a file
Hello, What would be the best set of R functions to parse and transform a file? My file looks as shown below. I would like to plot this data and I need to parse it into a single data frame that sorts of "transposes the data" with the following structure: > df <- data.frame(n=c(1,1,2,2),iter=c(1,2,1,2),step=as.factor(c('Step 1', 'Step2', 'Step 1',

Help with Keyword Corral
I've been trying to get Keyword Corral (http://www.johncow.com/brand-new-free-keyword-corral-tool-by-john-cow-dot-com) installed with Wine 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.10 and the best I can manage is the program appears to start up and then quits. Unfortunately, I've only recently moved to Ubuntu and there's a lot I don't have a clue about. I've tried running it in a Virtualbox VM but

Single precision
I am trying to port a huge Fortran routine that has been written using type Real (single precision) instead of Real*8. R works only with double precision and I got absurd results when calling the routine. Is it possible to make it work properly without changing the source code? I am running V0.64.1 of R for Unix. 32 bit programs and libraries on a 64 bit architecture
greetings. today i attempted to update update for the nss-util. i selected the x86_64, clicked apply, error message popped up showing a conflict because the i686 was also installed. opened yumex to see what i686 was installed and found a bunch of i686. because system is a dual core 64 bit, i decided to remove all i686 packages, programs first, then lib files. during reboot, thought hit that

Putting an index explicitly into function code --- a curiosity.
I want to create a list of functions in a for loop, with the index of the loop appearing explicitly in the function code. After quite a bit of thrashing around I figured out how to do it. Here is a toy example: junk <- vector("list",4) for(i in 1:4) { itmp <- i junk[[i]] <- eval(bquote(function(x){42 + .(itmp)*x})) } So I'm *basically* happy, but there's

Any pioneers who've configured passenger to support some apps running in 1.8.x others in 1.9?
Passenger configuration selects which ruby executable to use via a global configuration variable (at least for Apache, I assume it''s the same for Nginx). I''m in a situation where I''ve got at least one rails app I''d like to run on 1.9 while others remain on 1.8. This is for my development machine running OS X 10.6. Normally I just use the Passenger PrefPane,

scan errors
Dear friends. Is there any way to ignore the error produced when the function scan(file="...") cannot open the file (due to, e.g., the file does not exist)? I am also very interested in ways to label a contour plot. Yours. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Cingular/ATT killing my IMAP/POP connections with bad TCP FIN packets?
Hello all, I've got an issue I'm almost positive is not related to Dovecot, but was wondering whether anyone else has had similar problems or could duplicate my results. Please accept my apologies if this is considered off-topic or this issue is actually just a symptom of my own ignorance. Also, sorry for how long this email got, I knew I wouldn't be able to explain my issue in

Johnny's postfix/dovecot/squirrelmail/virus scanning + Centos4 Walk Through...
Is anyone mirroring Johnny's write up on this? As fate would have it, I've finally got some time to sit down and configure a spare box to be my new mail server and Johnny's site has been defaced again. :-( Sigh....I even checked to make sure it was up this morning, drove to the office so I could do everything from the terminal and my handy dandy roadmap is gone.... Any pointers

PSARC 2009/571: ZFS deduplication properties
I haven''t seen any mention of it in this forum yet, so FWIW you might be interested in the details of ZFS deduplication mentioned in this recently-filed case. OT - Originating Network identity
I am not sure if it is the right list for the post. Please excuse my lack of expertise, if it is a bad post. Is there anyway to detect the originating network identity of the call in Asterisk? For example, if the Asterisk gets a call from Cingular Network, is there anyway to find out that the call came from a Cingular subscriber. Thanks __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
