menu.c32: not a COM32R image
Hello, I have a simple shell script that I use to generate an iso installer depending on the release version that I want. The thing is that I extract isolinux and menu.c32 from the syslinux rpm of the latest redhat release. The reason I am doing it this way is because of the This is what does it: copymenu32() { # $ cat /local/kickstart/templates/os-updates.txt # RedHat-5.8|20120425

install problem -- libg2c
Hi, there I'm totally new to this. I used to use SPLUS, but think maybe useful to try R at home. But seems it doesn't like me. I got error message says ld: cannot open -lg2c: No such file or directory My OS is openlinux 2.3. I use egcs-2.91.66. I searched under /lib/egcs-2.91.66/ but found no libg2c.a. There's only a libgcc.a. Thought maybe g77 people changed

libFLAC bitbuffer optimizations
Pulled from my Arch archive, this following patch seems to have made quite a difference in getting my ARM7TDMI chip to play FLAC (compression levels 0-2) on my ipod. I don't have benchmarks with hard numbers, but playing with skips vs playing without skips is a fairly noticeable difference. memcpy and memset on uClibc are optimized in asm for the ARM7TDMI in uClibc. Can''t install Shorewall
I am running Red Hat Linux 8.0 and I want to install Shorewall. I have downloaded it as LATEST.rpm. I downloaded it to /root/downloads/shorewall. When I issue "rpm -qip LATEST.rpm" I get "Name: shorewall; Version: 1.3.14". The "Installation and Upgrade" page at shorewall.net says "* Install the RPM (rpm -ivh <shorewall rpm>)." Obviously it

How to extract one file from rpm using yum?
I want to get the original version of /etc/clamd.d/amavis.conf from the amavisd-new rpm to get the defaults to submit a bug report. I could not figure out how to do this, so I did a reinstall, but it did not replace this file (whatprovides says it comes from this rpm). Is there a way to extract just the one file, and better yet, place it elsewhere than its regular destination? thanks

www.clamav.net update
Greetings I was informed on another list about this... im not a serious programming or exploit creation expert yet this appears to me to be fairly serious..... For those of you that have not heard about it, there has been a www.clamav.net update to 88.4 I roll my own rpms so I don't wait for upstream on this one... and for all I know they have dealt with it already... Anyways, FYI Thanks

"keep qlp coeff precision such that only 32-bit math is required"
stream_encoder.c has the following code: /* try to keep qlp coeff precision such that only 32-bit math is required for decode of <=16bps streams */ if(subframe_bps <= 16) { ... But FLAC can convert 16-bit input to 17-bit if mid-side coding is used. So, does it make sense to compare subframe_bps with 17? (The patch is attached. What do you think about it?) -------------- next part

[PATCH 0/2] supermin: use /etc/os-release
Hi, let's make supermin use /etc/os-release as primary source instead of the various release files in /etc; apparently distros (e.g. openSUSE) are starting removing them. net command in sernet -samba 3.4 for RHEL
After upgrading a test machine to Sernet's 3.4 package, it looks like the "net" command is gone. This was definitely there in the redhat-supplied 3.0 build and I thought it was there in sernet's 3.3 build too. I installed all the rpm's - samba3-client, samba3-utils, samba3-cifsmount.... am I missing something? -- Adam Cohen / IT Manager Energy Biosciences Institute /

Problems when using libFLAC to encode 24 bit content
Hi everybody, We have FLAC supported for input/output in REAPER (http://www.reaper.fm), and the problem is that when writing 24 bit FLAC files, the data isn't compressed (i.e. the FLAC is slightly larger than if it was writing to .WAV). The files play back fine, however, and 16 bit mode works great. We're using flac-1.1.2, built on win32 with MSVC6 w/ SP5 + VCPP, and NASM version 0.98.39

Slackware's 'explodepkg' equivalent for rpm?
Hi, Is there any 'explodepkg' equivalent for the rpm command? What I want is simply uncompress an RPM package to get the files directly, but I didn't find anything in rpm's manpage. Cheers, Niki Kovacs
