rhel source rpms
hi... new to centos, but i have a few questions... i understand that centos is a derivative of rhel, created from the exact/underluing source files used to create rhel. if this is the case, is it possible to get the actual source SRPMS for either RHEL, or for CentOS? I used to see the source files on the redaht system, but I don't seem to see them anymore... i'm curious to know

I can't see some of my onwn e-mails ...
I sometimes receive e-mails I post to this list, like I did the bug I reported about X problems, but other times not, like my first post about that before I reported the bug. That one appeared in gmane, but Evolution never picked it up. And today I've not seen either of my posts but I know it got there because I did see a reply to my post about the flash plugin and it had a snippet of my post

Using SIP stack within Asterisk to reboot phones - Possible?
Hi Everyone, I use Asterisk for regularPBX use it's made for. But I want to take it a bit further and use it at cmmand level to be able to send SIP notifies to restart a phone or take advantage of a phone's UPnP capabilities. Is Asterisk capable of that? If so, what is a simple SIP reboot message like and how can I invoke it from a Asterisk CLI? If Asterisk is not the best tool for this

Aastra phones occasionally show "No Service" - Is there any network setting I can tamper to facilitate a quick DHCP renewal on the Aastra phones?
Hi Everyone, I am running DD-WRT on a router that feeds about 30 Aastra 6753i. The phones occasionally go into "No Service" mode. The POE switch doesn't seem to be the problem as it's tested fine. I think the router sometimes gives up and comes back quickly. Or something of that nature. However, the connections are maintained if a call is going on because there are peer to peer

Torrent: reminder to use it folks!
Well, there's so few going right now that I'm showing 38 days to get the DVD. My normal dnld from a mirror travels appx. 600Mb/sec. I'll wait until most of the U.S. goes home before I give up and use the normal download though. Here's hoping... -- Bill

Is queue Members priority supposed to show in the "queue show" command
Hi Everyone, I am doing a queue show and I can't see any column that shows a queue member priority. Is there any other command that can show the member priority on the Asterisk 1.4x CLI? We are using this format of dialplan to login agents: exten => 123,Answer() exten => 123,n,AddQueueMember(500|Local/${CALLERID(num)}@from-internal/n) exten => 123,Hangup() ^^^^ Where 500 is the

Restarting mouse services
I move my notebook around my office. Sometimes I am using the internal pointers, sometimes a USB mouse, and sometimes a USB keyboard/mouse adapter that is plugged into a kvm (actually two of them). With one of these USB k/m adapters, when I plug in, the system fails to recognize the mouse (but no problem with the keyboard). The 2 adapters are the same brand/model (Aten), but the KVMs are

[PATCH] Force mountd(8) to a specified port.
Hi all, I have a requirement to run NFS read-only in an Internet-facing colocation environment. I am not happy with packet filters alone around rpcbind, call me paranoid, so I just spent the last few minutes cutting this patch. As you are aware, RPC applications can be forced to listen on a known port through the sin/sa argument to bindresvport[_sa](). Why several Linux distributions have this

Sending Unnumbered Acknowledgement No calls can be made inbound/outbound. Keeps repeating. No alarms ON and no changes been made to the system. Stopped all a sudden. Passing an argument to a macro within an Originate command
Hi, With Asterisk 1.8.3, I can't figure out how to pass an argument to a macro which is used within an originate command. Here is my sample dialplan to illustrate: exten => 123,1,Answer() exten => 123,n,Originate(SIP/20,app,Macro,foo,bar) exten => 123,n,NoOp(This is the NoOp after the originate command) exten => 123,n,Wait(30) exten => 123,n,Hangup() [macro-foo] exten =>

wallclock time for paravirtualized guests
The paravirtualized guests are offered wallclock time referenced to UTC only, while fully virtualized guests are given the option via the config file (localtime parameter) of starting with UTC time or local time. What would it take to optionally provide localtime to the paravirtualized guests as well? For a guest that launches assuming localtime as its time basis, then later deriving UTC from it

Properly Escaping Quotes and Commas
Hello all, I have a setup where Asterisk sends a message to a few jabber users on each incoming call, like: exten => s,n,Macro(sendim,"Incoming call from ${CALLERID(all)}") The macro looks like this: [macro-sendimuser2] exten => s,n,JabberSend(asterisk,user2 at gmail.com,${ARG1}) exten => s,n,JabberSend(asterisk,user2 at internal.jabber.server.tld,${ARG1}) [macro-sendim]

Detecting second network interface
Me again. The ASUS P5N32-SLI motherboard in my new machine has dual NICs but CentOS has only detected one of them. I've tried rebooting with the network plugged in only to the second one, but kudzu still doesn't find it. Any suggestions?

Natulius CD burner does not accept my 700Mb CD-R disks
When I try to burn anything to cd, I get a message to insert a CD large enough for my file (normally an ISO image). Doesn't matter if the iso image is a 600Mb Centos ISO or a 48Mb DSL ISO. Same warning. My CD-Rs are Memorex 700MB/80min 52x disks that work just fine on XP systems. So what am I missing configuration-wise?

Voice mail "maxmessage " setting per mail box
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi All, Is it at all possible to have the "maxmessage" setting on per user/mailbox value? We have a requirement whereby we want the global maxmessage setting to be 180 seconds per mail box, however, we would like to have certain users to be able to store longer voice mail messages. Is this at all doable in asterisk? Thanks Bruce
