pending tests fail when I switch to mock_with :mocha
First of all, please direct me into how better to search existing threads in
this mailing list.
Ok to my rspec 2.0.1 mocha 0.9.8 issue:
given a controller test
before do
subject.expects(:authenticate).once
end
it "should bla bla" do
pending "PENDING, shouldn''t fail?"
end
with
config.mock_with :rspec
it''s ok: pending, but with

counter-intuitive behaveour when passing a proc to Mocha::Expectation#returns
Let''s say that I have a procedure that:
* gets the number of bytes to write into some file
* and returns the number of successfully written bytes
def save( text, len )
This procedure is being used all over the place especially inside the method
"process" which I want to test. Thus in order not to polute my filesystem I stub
the "save" procedure. But of course in

Mocha and rails 2.0.2?
Folks-
With Rails 2.0.2, I''m seeing mocha failures where they did not fail

Mocha Mock''s hanging on after test run?
Hi guys,
I''m running mocha (0.3.2) against Rails core and just found an issue
where the mock doesn''t go away after the test is run.
For example:
def test_reset_bang_doesn_reinstall_named_routes
ActionController::Routing::Routes.named_routes.expects(:install).never
@session.reset!
end
def test_zzz
puts ActionController::Routing::Routes.named_routes.inspect

How to use different mocking frameworks?
Hi,
I''m pretty new to Rspec, so hope someone can help me out with this.
I''m leveraging a couple pre-existing applications in my current
project, both have fairly robust test suites in Rspec already.
However, one is using Rspec''s builit in mocking, and the other is
using mocha.
If I set config.mock_with mocha in spec_helper.rb, then all of the
rspec mocks fail. If I

Rails functional testing and Mocha
I''ve always wanted to be able to do stuff like this in my functional
tests
c = customers(:customer_1)
c.expects(:great_customer_service)
post :service_customer, :id => c.id
This of course fails because inside the rails action a different
instance of customer is used. Some of the time setting your
expectation/stubbing on Customer.any_instance works, but it''s not

Rspec2 for rails 2.3.8?
Hi experts,
I picked up a copy of the rspec book and wrote some tests in spec/lib
and spec/models for my Rails 2.3.8 code.
I was using rspec 2.5.1, rspec-core 2.5.0, rspec-expectations 2.5.0 et.
al.
But I realised that the rspec-rails version I am using is meant for
Rails3.
Which version of rspec-rails should I use for Rails 2.3.8?
Best,
Radhesh

problem with using any_instance
Hey all,
I have a question with using mocha in my tests.
In the same test file, I have two tests,
<code>
def test_a
klass.any_instance.stubs(:method_name).returns("something")
klass.new.method_name
...
end
def test_b
...
klass.new.method_name
...
end
</code>
where klass is some class
when the tests run, test _a passes, but test_b had an error like this:

Problems with expect_render
Hi there,
I''ve been working with RSpec for about a week now, and the process of
moving from a Test::Unit + Mocha setup to an RSpec + Mocha
environment has been pretty straightforward.
Except, I''m having problems with using template.expect_render.
I have Mocha enabled with:
> config.mock_with :mocha
in spec_helper. And then I have a view spec which looks like this:

Using rspec and mocha
I prefer to use rspec than test::unit for developing my apps. However
I''ve found its mocking library to be pretty inflexible compared to
Mocha. This isn''t really a surprise since rspec isn''t intended as a
mocking framework, whereas Mocha is. So I''d like to play to both of
their strengths and use rspec as my testing/specification framework

mocha tarballs don''t uncompress cleanly
Hi Antonio,
My environment is OS X 10.4.8.
Thanks a lot for looking into the problem. Please let me know if I
can do anything to help.
I have had problems previously with tar including Mac resource fork
files. Could this be what is causing your problem?
James.

Mocha and SimplyHelpful
Hi,
I''m getting a conflict between the Mocha plugin and the Rails
SimplyHelpful plugin.
For some reason the dom_id method from SimplyHelpful is not being
found in my views when the Mocha plugin is installed. The dom_id
method if used in the controller works properly.
This is the error I get when running the tests:

Problem with RSpec and Mocha/Stubba
I''ve recently upgraded to the latest versions of Mocha and RSpec
(0.3.2 and 0.6.3 respectively) and I''m no longer able to use Mocha/
Stubba with RSpec. Its actually only Stubba I''m interested in as I
use RSpec''s built-in mocking library.
I require stubba in my spec file but whenever I try and run my spec
it fails with the error:

Aliasing type method in Mocha
Hi, (Mocha and Stubba are great, btw.)
Is there any way to alias the call to .type in Mocha? The issue is
that AR effectively aliases the normal type method for the Column
class (for whatever Adapter.) My code is reflecting on the adapter
methods to iterate over the columns in a particular model. This makes
it hard to write test code that stubs out columns and mocks my models.
E.g.

Mocha + Selenium-on-rails loading problem ?
Hello All,
I need to stub two class methods before a selenium call.
The .rsel is :
require ''mocha''
SalesConfigWork.stubs(:load_work_data)
SalesConfigWork.stubs(:delete_work_data)
setup :fixtures => :sales_config_works
open "/"
The Selenium test runner result is :
undefined method `stubs'' for SalesConfigWork:Class

New to Mocha
Hi all
I am new to Mocha. I am trying to use it for my pet rails project.
I seem to be getting loads of errors when I add mocha as a plugin. It
seems to be conflicting with TinyMCE plugin http://johnwulff.com/

I am getting the following errors

Mocha 0.4.0 Hates My App
Hi all -
I''ve recently made the leap from FlexMock to Mocha for mocks within
my app. Today I decided to upgrade from Mocha 0.3.2 to Mocha 0.4.0.
So I updated the gem, started rake and went to get some coffee. I
came back 5 mins later and my units (which were clean) are now
reporting 97 failures (!!!). Every failure reports a callstack like
this:
