How to document man/*.Rd pages with images?
Hi,
I?m trying to figure out how to put images into my package?s help
documentation. I?ve gotten to the point where I can put the images in the
/inst/doc/ directory. I have also gotten to the point where I have package
checks without any warnings. I couldn?t find the terms ?picture,? ?image,?
or ?graphic? in a text search within the Writing R Extensions: 2 Writing R
documentation files

Setting up a lustre zfs dual mgs/mdt over tcp - help requested
Hi all,
Here is the situation:
I have 2 nodes MDS1 , MDS2 (10.0.0.22 , 10.0.0.23) I wish to use as
failover MGS, active/active MDT with zfs.
I have a jbod shelf with 12 disks, seen by both nodes as das (the
shelf has 2 sas ports, connected to a sas hba on each node), and I
am using lustre 2.4 on centos 6.4 x64
I have created 3 zfs pools:
1. mgs:

Dedicated MGS?
This may be in the documentation. If so, I missed it.
If a site has multiple Lustre file systems, the documentation implies
that there only needs to be a single MGS for an entire site
(regardless of the number of file systems). However, I also know
it is fairly common to have a combined MGS/MDT. So here are the
questions.
1. If we are going to have several Lustre file systems,

mgcv: how select significant predictor vars when using gam(...select=TRUE) using automatic optimization
I have 11 possible predictor variables and use them to model quite a few
target variables.
In search for a consistent manner and possibly non-manual manner to identify
the significant predictor vars out of the eleven I thought the option
"select=T" might do.
Example: (here only 4 pedictors)
first is vanilla with "select=F"

iptables rules for lustre 1.6.x and MGS recovery procedures
Hi,
I would like to know what TCP/UDP ports should i keep open in my
firewall policies on my MGS server such that I can have my MGS server
fire-walled. Also if in a event of loss of MGT would it be possible
to recreate the MGT without loosing data or bringing the filesystem
down (i.e. by using cached information from MDT''s and OST''s)
Thanks

multiframe in postscript
I was hoping that the following specification
postscript(file="fig.ps",height=2,width=4)
par(mar=c(5,5,2,2)+.1,mfrow=c(1,2),mex=.6)
would yield the same scaling effect as
postscript(file="fig.ps",height=2,width=6)
par(mar=c(5,5,2,2)+.1,mfrow=c(1,3),mex=.6)
but the fact is that the 'mfrow=c(1,2)' yields smaller plotting frame
and bigger font size.

NFS Performance
Hi,
With help from Oleg we got the right patches applied and NFS working
well. Maximum performance was about 60 MB/sec. Last week that dropped
to about 12.5 MB/sec and I cannot find a reason. Lustre clients all
obtain 100+ MB/sec on GigE. Each OST is good for 270 MB/sec. When
mounting the client on one of the OSSs I get 230 MB/sec. Seems the
speed is there. How can NFS and Lustre be tuned

lctl ping of Pacemaker IP
Greetings!
I am working with Lustre-2.1.2 on RHEL 6.2. First I configured it
using the standard defaults over TCP/IP. Everything worked very
nicely usnig a real, static --mgsnode=a.b.c.x value which was the
actual IP of the MGS/MDS system1 node.
I am now trying to integrate it with Pacemaker-1.1.7. I believe I
have most of the set-up completed with a particular exception. The

small first graph of par(3,2), other 5 are correct
Hi,
I'm trying to produce 6 graphs on a single page using code I've borrowed
from an example by Paul Murrell:
It involves placing 6 horizontal barplots on one page and adding common
labels.
The problem is the first graph in my figure (the one in the (1,1)
position) is smaller than the other 5. A toy example is

Multihomed question: want Lustre over IB andEthernet
Chris,
Perhaps you need to perform some write_conf like command. I''m not sure if this is needed in 1.6 or not.

Lost folders after changing MDS
OK, so our old MDS had hardware issues so I configured a new MGS / MDS on a VM (this is a backup lustre filesystem and I wanted to separate the MGS / MDS from OSS of the previous), and then did this:
For example:
mount -t ldiskfs /dev/old /mnt/ost_old
mount -t ldiskfs /dev/new /mnt/ost_new
rsync -aSv /mnt/ost_old/ /mnt/ost_new
# note trailing slash on ost_old/
If you are unable to connect both

data.frame - transform
Hi there,
I have a data.frame (pwt6) which I would like to transform:
country year gdp
MEX 1950 2
MEX 1951 5
BOL 1950 4
BOL 1951 12
ITA 1950 45
ITA 1951 2
This should be the result:
year MEX.gdp BOL.gdp ITA.gdp
1950 2 4 45
1951 5 12 2
Right now I have this code (better - no code):
country.label<-names(table(pwt6$country))
result<-data.frame(year=NULL)
for(i in country.label)

How To change server recovery timeout
Hi,
Our lustre environment is:
2.6.9-55.0.9.EL_lustre.1.6.3smp
I would like to change recovery timeout from default value 250s to
something longer
I tried example from manual:
set_timeout <secs> Sets the timeout (obd_timeout) for a server
to wait before failing recovery.
We performed that experiment on our test lustre installation with one
OST.
storage02 is our OSS

I just installed attachment_fu and for some reason, it seems to be
looking in the wrong location for my images.
I have a Product model that belongs to a photo model. the photo model
has the attachment_fu installed and configured like so:
class Photo < ActiveRecord::Base
has_attachment :content_type => :image, #Allow

Clustering with R - efficient processing of large sparse data sets (text data)
I checked the R procedure HCLUST (hierarchical clustering) but it
looks like it requires a full triangular n x n similarity matrix as
input, where n = number of observations. The number of variables is
200.
My data set has n = 50,000 observations (keywords), and I use ad-hoc
similarity measures, not available in R, to measure keyword
similarity. Here, the vast majority of the n x n similarities
