Desynchronize clock
I don''t want my dom0 to update the clock in my HVM domU. I''ve already disabled network-based time synchronization inside the HVM. I''ve tried setting /proc/sys/xen/independent_wallclock=1 and then restarting xend, but the guest still gets the correct time. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? Hi list, I''m trying to get RHEL4 working as Xen guest as described by the howto at https://virt.108.redhat.com/articles/2007/01/15/rhel4-testing.html. However, when creating the xenU domain, I''m stuck with the following error message: # xm create -c rhel4 Using config file "/etc/xen/rhel4". puppet vs rhel4 system-config-securitylevel
Hey every one, Over the past week I have been exploring puppet and had been ignoring an oddity in its output that Luke helped me figure out today. It all started with trying to configure puppet to configure iptables using redhats utility system-config-securitylevel-tui on rhel4. I was able to get it up and running using the following configuration: node default{ firewall {rhel4:

Libvirt remote-client compilation for RHEL4
Hi, We are trying to compile Libvirt 1.02 from source for an RHEL4 target. Our virtualization hosts are running the fedora 17/ RHEL6 with the latest standard libvirt binaries. This is where VMs will be created. But our user/development machines are RHEL4 and we would like users to be able to use virsh/libvirt/python to control the Vms running on RHEL6/fedora17 remotely from the their RHEL4

Fedora packages or Enterprise packages of Samba on RHEL4?
Hello, Can somebody of the Samba team explain me the difference of Fedora packages or Enterprise packages ( <http://enterprisesamba.com/> http://enterprisesamba.com/) of Samba on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4? I tried to find any information about this subject, but googleing doesn't help me. The standard Samba package (3.0.10EL) of RHEL4 doesn't communicate with a W2k3 server

AW: Re: samba-3.0.10-1.4E (RHEL4); Invalid key XXX given to dptr_close
Fabian, Fast explains. On the NT server work BrightStore with version r9, more highly does not go because of NT. On the REHL4 side works (worked) BrightStore Linux Client r11.5. Smaller version does not work goes because of RHEL4. BrightStore servers r9 and Linux Client r11.5 are not compatible unfortunately. I must now decide everything with the version Share to work to get. Or the operating

Yum question - RHEL4
Hi this is technically a RHEL4 question but i hope it can be answered here... Does RHEL4 do yum OK ? I kix a lot of boxes and it would be great to run the update after the build automajically rather than running through the up2date registration and using that method. I would also rather not pay lots for satellite server. If i setup my own RHEL repo can i use yum against this? Or any other

RHEL4 EOL
Just curious... CentOS4 lifetime tracks RHEL4 somewhat... Since RedHat has announced LTS (Long Term Support) for RHEL4, are there plans to extend the CentOS 4 support window?

RHEL4 - which yum version?
I'm looking at this document to convert RHEL4 systems to Yum and setup an updates repository. http://sial.org/howto/yum/ Which version of yum would you recommend for that? What would be the dependencies that need to be installed? Any guidelines for installing Yum on RHEL4 without breaking the RPM dependencies and stuff (and with minimal changes to the system)? The document recommends

RPM packages for RHEL4
Hi, - the download page links to /RPM/rhel/ instead of /RPM/rhel4/ - the location of repos.d in DAG's yum (I guess where most people would get yum for RHEL) is /etc/yum.repos.d/ rhel4 works with yum but ... could you sign the packages - it's risky to use an unsigned repository (only have to compromise the web server to own any system updating from it)? up2date requires a

Re: imap on Centos 4 -- UW IMAP 2004b for FC3/RHEL4
From: Matt Hyclak <hyclak at math.ohiou.edu> > Actually, the more direct replacement would be Dovecot. > Cyrus can be complicated to set up and get running. I actually modified the old UW IMAP 2002 SPEC file from RHL9/FC1, and modified a few config files, to support UW IMAP 2004b. I made one with both RFC3501 (no text passwords over SSL) and non-RFC3501 (legacy, text passwords

Joining RHEL5 server as member of win2003 domain fails - RHEL4 works
Dear SAMBA experts, I have several RHEL4 servers where samba is working perfectly with the exact same configuration file as is the case for this RHEL5 server, but on RHEL5 I cannot join the domain controlled by a win2003 server. >From running the following command this is extracted: [root@skade ~]# net rpc testjoin -d5 --- [2008/07/04 15:06:35, 5]

RHEL4 + 2.6.11 and Puppet CA/Master at 2.7.9
Hello, As the 2.7 branch doesn''t seem to be available for RHEL4 (yes I know EOS next week) am trying to use a 2.6.11 client for our new Puppet infrastructure to replace the creaking one we have now. The POC setup is all running behind an F5 with a pair of CA''s and seperate pool of Puppet Masters. RHEL5/6 clients running 2.7.9 work fine. The older version on RHEL4 gives me SSL
