how to check linearity in Cox regression
Hi, I am just wondering if there is a test available for testing if a linear fit of an independent variable in a Cox regression is enough? Thanks for any suggestions. John Zhang ____________________________________________________________________________________ [[elided Yahoo spam]]

NUT on Raspberry PI 3b+
I was able to make NUT and my Powercom SPIDER UPS (USB port) work under the Raspberry Pi Desktop (Debian). Everything works in VMware Workstation 15 Player. But my Raspberry Pi 3b + (with raspbian last version) doesn’t work with the same UPS, and with same NUT configuration. Raspberry sees the UPS, but the driver does not cling. Here is the response of Raspberry 3b + to some commands. pi at

how to check linearity in Cox regression
On examining non-linearity of Cox coefficients with penalized splines - I have not been able to dig up a completely clear description of the test performed in R or S-plus. >From the Therneau and Grambsch book (2000 - page 126) I gather that the test reported for "linear" has as its null hypothesis that the spline coefficient is the same at the center of basis. Thus, in the example

Odd anova(lm()) order phenomenon, looking for an explanation
Hi everyone, I'm witnessing an odd modelling phenomenon that I can't explain. If anyone has seen this before, or can explain what's going on would let me know, I'd be very grateful! Especially if I'm just being dim. I'm fitting a pair of continuous variates and their interaction to some residuals from another model. The sequential anova statement changes with the term

Test for equality of coefficients in multivariate multiple regression
Hello, suppose I have a multivariate multiple regression model such as the following: > DF<-data.frame(x1=rep(c(0,1),each=50),x2=rep(c(0,1),50)) > tmp<-rnorm(100) > DF$y1<-tmp+DF$x1*.5+DF$x2*.3+rnorm(100,0,.5) > DF$y2<-tmp+DF$x1*.5+DF$x2*.7+rnorm(100,0,.5) > x.mlm<-lm(cbind(y1,y2)~x1+x2,data=DF) > coef(x.mlm) y1 y2 (Intercept)

Incorrect Values From usbhid-ups
I recently purchased a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD UPS as a replacement UPS for a headless server running Slackware 14.1 with the 3.10.7 kernel. I then downloaded the NUT 2.7.1 tarball on the server and following the directions installed the software. The installation went well and the UPS will shutdown the server using the forced down test and then it powers back up as it should. The
