Moving from Puppet 0.25 to Puppet 2.6+ : global scope/variables
Hi, I worked with puppet (< 0.25) back in 2008/2009. We were able to deploy 200 servers from scratch and manage them. It worked fine. I''m now with a new customer and I''m pushing Puppet (and I''m also back to puppet on a side project). We''re considering Puppet 2.6 to manage RHEL/CentOS 5 or 6 hosts. I''m "upgrading myself" to Puppet

Openwebmail emergency (Perl)
After system update yesterday, Openwebmail now gives an error: > Undefined subroutine &Compress::Zlib::memGzip called at /var/www/cgi-bin/openwebmail/shares/ow-shared.pl line 1175. I tried to do perl -MCPAN -e shell install Compress::Zlib But it says Compress::Zlib is up-to-date. What do to?? I cannot find an answer by googling. - Jussi -- Jussi Hirvi * Green Spot Topeliuksenkatu 15

cmd curl crashes asterisk:
I recently began using the curl cmd to do an external callerid lookup on my own customer database. I've noticed certain lookups will cause a crash and not show anything in the messages file or the console. The curl command is connecting to an external webserver which has a oracle db connection. The file its hitting is PHP and does a very simply lookup showing the text like "C1234 Bobs

dovecot + openwebmail
Hi, I'm trying to add some sanity to a badly thought out mail system that, for various reasons, cant be fixed from the bottom up at this moment in time. The system is debian sarge, exim 4.5, doing virtual domains and delivering into mboxes in /var/spool/virtual/$domain/$user , there is webmail access and this allows user to create folders in (dont shoot me!)

Unresolved references in libnetsnmpagent.so
Hi, I am running an up to date centos5.9 system. The package, net-snmp-devel-5.3.2.2-20.el5 Contains among oteher things: /usr/lib/libnetsnmpagent.so When I link with this library (-lnetsnmpagent), I get a bunch of unresolved references.: My Google searches has not given me hints to where the C to Perl library exists. I would guess that yum would have loaded the correct package as a

Openwebmail dependency problem
Ok, I have to ask. I tried to yum install the latest openwebmail (from the openwebmail repo), and got a transaction check error about a conflict with some packages which are needed by amavisd and spamassassin (packages originating from rpmforge, I think). Below is the yum output. By googling I found a lot of descriptions of the problem, but no solution. - Jussi (...) Resolving Dependencies

Cannot compile wine fully
Hi! For a longer time, I cannot build all the support suite of wine programs, especially winehelp and winetest. It seems that there is some problem with perl: winetest.c: In function `xs_init': winetest.c:158: `my_perl' undeclared (first use in this function) winetest.c:158: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once winetest.c:158: for each function it appears in.)

IceS with Perl segfault
I'm running Icecast 1.3.12 with IceS 0.2.3. I've run into a couple of issues with this new version of IceS. One I can get around, the other is causing me much frustration. With IceS 0.2.2 I had the server name in the ices.conf file set to localhost: <Server> <Hostname>localhost</Hostname> </Server> Worked fine for many months. When I upgraded to 0.2.3 I

Parse error in ices.pm
We have installed IceCast2 and Ices0.3 and it works very well - with builtin playlist! When I write my own playlist handler - similar to the preconfigured ices.pm.dist - I get a perl_parse() error while starting ices. So ices exits. --- Code: --- # At least ices_get_next must be defined. And, like all perl modules, it # must return 1 at the end. # Function called to get the next filename to

suidperl not suid after installworld?
The last two times that i have cvsup-ed/built/installed world (first from 4.7-Rel to 4.8-Rc, then to 4.8-Rel), i have noticed that after the update is complete the newly installed suidperl binary has not the suid bit set and does not work until i manualy set it., and i just wonder if this is something normal, or i am doing something wrong? -- Cheers, Niki
