Problem with RGui and MASS
Hi,
Using R1.9.1 for Windows with Windows 2000 (also XP), I have come
across the following problem that I have not seen before and am at
a loss to explain. If I create an object using rlm from library(MASS)
and then save the workspace, I cannot reopen it using RGUI by double
clicking on the .RData file as I normally do. If I double click on
the icon, R starts and then gives the following

Error in opening .RData containing a genefilter object
Hi,
I discover that when I save a workspace containing a genefilter (pkg
from Bioconductor) object I cannot open no more after. I have to
restore the .RData file from a backup to be able to start R again.
I didn't upgrade to Version 2.2 but I'm not sure that it will solve the
problem.
Did anyone have encounter the same problem?
Below is a short r session to reproduce the error:

Variable Editor
Hello everoyne,
If you have ever used matlab you should know the variable editor. You click over the value of a variable in the workspace and it opens like a excel sheet. Do you know if there is something like that in R . This will make easier for me to understand what values are stored in a matrix.
Also I am using rkward. Do you know if there is anyway to see the already defined variables?

Problem with workspace loading after languageR use
Hello R,
To analyze multi-level data, I started learning and using lmer. So far
so wonderful. I then found some useful functions in package languageR.
But then the following problem ocurred: Whenever I load and use the
languageR package, then save the workspace - or quit R with saving the
workspace - I am unable to reload that workspace in a later session.
That is, R doesn't start at all

R takes long time to open
Hello.
Until today I've been using R2.9 and since today R2.10 (on a PC).
In both of them it takes about 20 sec for the prompt to appear IN R
console after I start R. And every time it says: "Previous saved work
space restored" - even if I have not saved any workspace or, in case
of R2.10 - even though I have not used it once.
In the older versions - R would start within 2-3 sec.

Gnome desktop, workspaces and windows
I was editing a file in gvim when I inadvertently pressed some key combination
that caused the vim window to disappear from the desktop. I looked in ps and
found that it was still running. Checking the tool bar at the bottom of my
display I noticed that a large rectangle now occupied the second of four boxes
on the extreme right hand side. Clicking on that box brought back the gvim
instance but

error: too many open devices
Hello all--
I've been using 1.13 (v1915) on my Mac pretty intensly for about a
month, but today when I tried to generate a plot I recieved this
message:
Error in quartz(width=9) : too many open devices
I was caught by surprise, because I only had the R console open at the
time. I checked to be sure, by clicking "Window" at the top bar, and R
console was the only window open. I

tiff(), jpeg(), and png() in R 2.7.0: problems if 'units = "in"' but default height and width
I love the new tiff(), jpeg(), and png() in R 2.7.0 but found
an issue that I didn't see reported.
When specifying 'units = "in"' but forgetting to change the
default height and width (so the figure is unintentionally
going to be 480 inches by 480 inches) I run into problems.
Here's the reproducible example:
tiff("a.tiff", units = "in", res = 1200,

FastCGI can''t find rubygems?
Hi all,
I''m trying to use Apache 2.0.52 and FastCGI on Mac OS 10.4.6 and I''m having
some trouble. The server starts up fine, but I get the error at the bottom
of this post once I make a request to the rails app. I was curious if
anyone had an idea as to why it wasn''t working. I have everything installed
correctly (rubygems, fastcgi, ruby bindings, etc). I had this

nice!

These two projects don't need to be interdependent and, for the most
part, they aren't. In the same way that llvm does not depend on
clang, compiler-rt

Using BuildMI to insert Intel MPX instruction BNDCU failed
Hello everyone, I'm a newbie of llvm. I'm trying to insert Intel MPX
instruction BNDCU with BuildMI. I add my machinefunctionpass
at addPreEmitPass2.
Here is the code of insertion:
BuildMI(MBB, MI, DL, TII->get(X86::BNDCU64rr)).addReg(X86::BND2,
RegState::Define).addReg(X86::R10);
And here is to stack track when I compiler program with modified llc:

Startup on Windows 2000
I am having difficulty coming to grips with Appendix B.2 of the
otherwise very useful "An Introduction to R" and the related help file
for Startup. I am running RGui 1.6.0 on a Windows 2000 machine from the
default installation. How the concepts discussed in B.2 and the Startup
help file relate to what I see on my machine is something of a mystery.
I quote from the Startup file:

help for memory problem with 64-bit machines
Hello,
I would appreciate *any* ideas on this problem. I'm the maintainer of a
package ("subselect"), which on CRAN's Daily Package Checks is OK on all
flavours of R, except r-devel Linux x86_64, where there is a "memory not
mapped" segfault with the very first example that is tried out (output below).
Additionally, a user with an AMD64 machine has just reported a

I''m getting an exception that I''m fairless clueless about. It occurs
when I run a "create" action but neither my action or before filters

I suspect it has to do with marshalling objects in the session - maybe
TzTime is not capable of being stored in the session. I hope that''s
