zero inflated poisson and censored-continuous models
I wonder if there is a package that will estimate a Zero Inflated Poisson
Model (ZIP), and also if there is a package that will estimate what is
called the Tobit model: that is a combination of censored and observed
values in the same sample.

Graph question
If I have a set of data comprising a list of numbers of eggs on mosquito guts that range from 1 to 157. How can I get R to draw a barchart of the distribution of the data (i.e. x axis= number of eggs on a gut, y axis=number of mosquitoes found with that number of eggs)? Data is listed below.
Thanks,
Georgina

Fibonacci
Hi!
I am trying to work out the code to get a Fibonacci sequence, using the
while() loop and only one variable. And I can't figure it out.
Fibonacci<-c(1,1)
while (max(Fibonacci)<500){
Fibonacci<-c(Fibonacci, (max(Fibonacci) + ?(Fibanacci)))
}
How can I tell R to take the value one before the max value? (Without
defining another variable)
(Probably super easy... I am a

standard errors of fitted values are different S-plus survival pa ckage and R
Perhaps this question has been asked before: but using the function predict(
fit, type="terms",se.fit=T), where fit is a coxph object in S-plus, the
estimated standard errors are different. It may be different estimators of
the variance of the residuals? Which one is the default in R, I don't find
that too easily in the documentation. Does anybody know?
I'll be very grateful

R licensing query
I have recently started a new job at an NHS hospital in Scotland. Since
I took up this post 6 months ago I have had an ongoing dispute with the
IT secutiry dept. who refuse to install R on my computer. I previously
worked in another branch of the NHS where R was widely used and yet
there is nothing I can say which will persuade the IT dept here to even
visit the website! With some help from our

I have a set of data that comprises genome numbers in single eggs from three different parasite clones - 3D7, HB3, and MIX. I can draw a boxplot of the genome numbers for each clonefed but how do I carry out a t test or ANOVA to compare if the means are signifcantly different? (Data is listed below)

a VNC client suitable to monitor 15 desktops in 1 screen, automatic reconnect. Exists?
Hello,
Is there a VNC client out there that can permit me to run it 15 times
simultaneously and scale them smaller so that I can view 15 little
remote screens (at the same time) in my one big monitor?
Also, is there a way to make it so if the PC is rebooted the client
automatically reconnects ?
The goal of this is to have one big monitor to view in realtime what
people are doing in their PCs.

DNS instead of WINS
I have not found any Samba documentation explaining using
DNS for name resolution. We are running a name server on
the network which was set up for several reasons.
I find our DNS server is faster, more reliable and doesn't
generate mangled machine names like our NT WINS server,
which can't be edited. This doesn't happen with DNS since
the names are all entered statically. We have

I've suceeded in getting my windows and linux computers to share printers
correctly except in one case. When I send postscript jobs to the printer

can I make this go away. This is especially what happens when I print
from my Linux Netscape to the windows computer. The printer I am trying
to print to is a Cannon BJC4300

Simple 95% confidence interval for a median
Hi!
I have a data set of 86 values that are non-normally distributed (counts).
The median value is 10. I want to get an estimate of the 95% confidence
interval for this median value.
I tried to use a one-sample Wiolcoxin test:
wilcox.test(Comps,mu=10,conf.int=TRUE)
and got the following output:
Wilcoxon signed rank test with continuity correction
data: Comps
V = 2111, p-value = 0.05846

Rgraphviz and R 2.9 in ubuntu jaunty
Dear people,
I'm new here, so this is my first try. I have ubuntu 9.04 installed with R 2.8 (which surprises me because I realized that the last version R 2.9 is available but in the Synaptic Package Manager 2.8 appears as the last one). I have also graphviz 2.20.2. I have been trying to install Rgraphviz either from R running "biocLite("Rgraphviz")" and from the shell
