Simple General Statistics and R question (with 3 line example) - get z value from pairwise.wilcox.test
Hi there,
I am trying to do multiple pairwise Wilcoxon signed rank tests in a
manner similar to:
a <- c(runif(1000, min=1,max=50), rnorm(1000, 50), rnorm(1000, 49.9,
0.5), rgeom(1000, 0.5))
b <- c(rep("group_a", 1000), rep("group_b", 1000), rep("group_c",
1000), rep("group_d", 1000))

Convolution confusion:
Hi,
I'm new to R, and I'm a bit confused with the "convolve()" function.
If I do:
x<-c(1, 2, 3)
convolve(x, rev(x), TRUE, "open")
= 9 12 10 4 1
But I expected: 3 8 14 8 3 (like in Octave/MATLAB - conv(x, reverse(x)) )
3 2 1 x 1 2 3
= 3 2 1
0 6 4 2
0 0 9 6 3
= 3 8 14 8 3
The thing is, that "convolve(x, x, TRUE, "open")" works.
For me

pbinom( ) function (PR#8700)
Full_Name: Chanseok Park
Version: R 2.2.1
OS: RedHat EL4
Submission from: (NULL) (130.127.112.89)
pbinom(any negative value, size, prob) should be zero.
But I got the following results.
I mean, if a negative value is close to zero, then pbinom() calculate
pbinom(0, size, prob). dbinom() also behaves similarly.

boxplot statistics in ggplot
I need to make weighted boxplots. I found that ggplot makes them. I
would however like to label them with the boxplot statistics (the
median, q1 and q3). In the boxplot function in r-base, I could output
boxplot statistics and then write a text on the plot to place the
labels. How would one do it with ggplot?

use of the tcltk package crashes R 4.0.1 for Windows
Hi,
The following code, from the examples in ?TkWidgets , immediately crashes R 4.0.1 for Windows:

CRAN down ?
There seems to be another outage of the Vienna CRAN server [1] though from
what I can from afar not related to DNS outage [2].
Could anyone confirm and possibly alert the local team in Vienna?

Non-linear maximization function in R
Hello,
# Full disclosure. I am not sure if my problem is a bug(s) in the code, or a
fundamental misunderstanding on my part about what I am trying to do with

RStudio question
I'm solving the following problem: Create a variable (column) in the ?wf?
dataframe named ?Zone? that takes value of ?tropic? if Latitude is less
than or equal to 30, or ?non-tropic? for Latitude greater than 30. Show you
Zone variable. Latitude is a column of my dataframe. I don't know the
sintaxis and the process to create the column.

Binomial simulation
Hi Guy's
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
dbinom(10,1,0.25)
I am using dbinom(10,1,0.25) to calculate the probabilty of 10 judges
choosing a certain brand x times.
I was wondering how I would go about simulating 1000 trials of each x value
?

Unable to Install Packages from Binaries on Windows for R 3.2.3
Installing packages from binaries on Windows seems broken, when using
mirrors that are up to date with CRAN
install.packages(
'httr',
type = 'binary',
repos = "https://cran.rstudio.com/"
)
Changing repos to the Kansas CRAN mirror installs the package as expected,
but that could be because the KS mirror has not yet synced.
Someone pointed out that the PACKAGES.gz

stopifnot() does not stop at first non-TRUE argument
switch(i, ...)
extracts 'i'-th argument in '...'. It is like
eval(as.name(paste0("..", i))) .
Just mentioning other things:
- For 'n',
n <- nargs()
can be used.
- sys.call() can be used in place of match.call() .

stopifnot() does not stop at first non-TRUE argument
I think Herv?'s idea was just that if switch can evaluate arguments selectively, so can stopifnot(). But switch() is .Primitive, so does it from C.
I think it is almost a no-brainer to implement a sequential stopifnot if dropping to C code is allowed. In R it gets trickier, but how about this:
Stopifnot <- function(...)
{
n <- length(match.call()) - 1
for (i in 1:n)
{
