error in nls, step factor reduced below minFactor
Hello, I am trying to estimate 4 parameters of a non-linear model using nls. My model function is a Fourier integral and is very expensive to calculate. I get the following error: > theta0 <- c(0.045, 1.02*10^(-4), 0.00169, 5.67*10^(-4)) > res <- nls(log(y) ~ log(model(theta,r,t)), data=dataModel, + start=list(theta=theta0), trace=TRUE, + control=nls.control(tol=1e-2))

nls and rbinom function: step factor 0.000488281 reduced below 'minFactor' of 0.000976562
I  am trying to learn nls using a simple simulation. I assumed that the binomial prob varies linearly as 0.2 + 0.3*x in  x {0,1}, and the objective is to recover the known parameters a=0.2, b=0.3 ..data frame d has 1000 rows... d$x<-runif(0,1)               d$y<-rbinom(1000,1,0.2+0.3*d$x)  table(d$y,cut(d$x,breaks=5));   (-0.000585,0.199] (0.199,0.399] (0.399,0.599] (0.599,0.799]

Unable to set attributes in a samba share (error 0x00000005)
Hi, I've set a share using samba, connected it to my Active Directory, and now I'm having problems when I copy files into this share. To setup the AD connection I've followed https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_Samba_as_a_Domain_Member, and installed it into my Debian 9 install using APT, after https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Distribution-specific_Package_Installation. bridge and dynamically adding hosts to zones
Hi, I''ve set up a bridge which connects two parts of the same subnet with each other. I''ve set up everything as described in the Documentation and it works very nicely. However: I have a problem with adding hosts to zones dynamically. The zone I want to add hosts to is called ''work''. Since only the bridge br0 is defined in /etc/shorewall/interfaces

Adding dynamically more than one host at once?
Hi, it seems not to be possible to add more than one host at once to a zone. So shorewall add br0:eth0:192.168.2.10,eth0:192.168.2.11 work fails, since "br0:eth0:192.168.2.10,eth0" is interpreted as one interface. --snip -- iptables v1.2.9: interface name `eth0:192.168.2.10,eth0'' must be shorter than IFNAMSIZ (15) Try `iptables -h'' or ''iptables

[LLVMdev] Clang API parsing of the destructor
I am using the clang API (version 3.1 - trunk 153913) to compile some very simple code as follows class MyClass { ~MyClass() ; }; MyClass::~MyClass() { } int main() { return 0; } My problem is that I get the error message: test.cpp:20:10: error: destructor cannot have a return type MyClass::~MyClass() If someone can point me to the right direction that would be great. It compiles fine if

Is is possible to do "shorewall reject 1.1.1.1 tcp 25"
Hello, Is is possible to do "shorewall reject 1.1.1.1 tcp 25" ? So I can dynamically blacklist offensive smtp senders, but only have shorewall reject certain types (smtp) traffic from them? Thanks, Alex Martin http://www.rettc.com

v1.2/DNAT
Some probably wish v1.2.12-2 out of Debian Woody would just go away, but it''s what I''m using and really don''t wish to upgrade at this time (but will eventually). My needs are rather simple and I''m sure it can handle the job. I''ve read and re-read the FAQs and searched extensively for docs on what my problem might be, but just cannot put my finger

Win2K registry not loading correctly
Hi, I've noticed that my Win2K registry just won't load correctly. In Win2K regedit nothing shows up at all - not even home registry values - and in Win98 regedit (running in my w2k configured wine) only few values show up, I believe those are my home registry values. Here's the relevant stuff from config, built with winesetup: [Drive H] "Path" = "/mnt/winnt"

host list in /etc/shorewall/hosts: interface ignored
Hi, the new function ''shorewall show zones'' in 2.2.0-Beta showed a thing which is (in my view) either abug or not documented. If I have a line in /etc/shorewall/hosts which reads work br0:eth0:192.168.2.10,192.168.2.11,192.168.2.12 then "show zones" has the output work br0:eth0:192.168.2.10 br0:192.168.2.11 br0:192.168.2.12 That is, the

access deny host (ip) to access the Internet
I''m using shorewall 2.0.x at home as an Internet gateway for family. However my brother always plays online games overnight, so my parents asked whether I can do something on the gateway to control the time of accessing the Internet. I planned to put a script on crontab to schedule which it will execute say at 12:00 night daily, the script will execute a command will deny my brother

[LLVMdev] clang and __builtin_va_list
I am using the Clang c++ API. I have a blocking issue because the builtin __builtin_va_list clang isn't defined. Dear All, A couple of questions about the nls package. 1. I'm trying to run a nonlinear least squares regression but the routine gives me the following error message: step factor 0.000488281 reduced below `minFactor' of 0.000976563 even though I previously wrote the following command: nls.control(minFactor = 1/4096), which should set the minFactor to a lower level than the default

SAMBA PDC Win7 Problem
Hello everybody, I was playing around a few days with getting a samba PDC up with support for windows 7 Clients. I got it working, the clients can connect to the PDC and login. I've tested Roaming profiles and local profiles everything seems to work like charm. But there is one more Problem I can't locate. When the Win7 clients try to login WITHOUT a network connection to the server,

nls.control( ) has no influence on nls( ) !
Dear Friends. I tried to use nls.control() to change the 'minFactor' in nls( ), but it does not seem to work. I used nls( ) function and encountered error message "step factor 0.000488281 reduced below 'minFactor' of 0.000976563". I then tried the following: 1) Put "nls.control(minFactor = 1/(4096*128))" inside the brackets of nls, but the same error message
