Hi, I have already installed 4.2 on my laptop, I only chose GNOME at install time. I now need to use up2date to install kde (I wish to install twinkle softphone). What is the correct way to do that. I have 2 new servers built from 4.3 isos. I want to update them but cannot do that because of update issues: Up2date fails because of a several dependency issues. yum update fails because of a problem with the au mirrors. yum can find the mirrors but not the headers. Cheers

Hi all, I want to use UP2DATE to alert me to updates that are available but still use yum to make the update. Up2date alerts me and i see what is available and then update with yum. Greetings, centos. Looks like postinstall scriplet in CentOS4.4 distro requires /sbin/restorecon utility, which in turn resides in policycoreutils package. Meanwhile, up2date don't require policycoreutils. Hi all, I just wanted to ask if anybody did a # up2date --upgrade-to-release=4.1 on CentOS 3.5 box? I did it and I'm having a bit of problems. The box just dies... at intervals between half a day and a couple of days. Initially I considered it was a hw problem, so I had the tech support check it out, and they just switched the box with another, and put the harddisks back on the new box...
