Latent Profile Analysis Package?
I´ve several packages for latent class analysis, but I was wondering if there is a package for continuos variables, which allows latent prfile analysis.
Thanks for your help in advance,

Trying to extract probabilities in CARET (caret) package with a glmStepAIC model
Dear developers,
I have jutst started working with caret and all the nice features it offers. But I just encountered a problem:
I am working with a dataset that include 4 predictor variables in Descr and a two-category outcome in Categ (codified as a factor).
Everything was working fine I got the results, confussion matrix etc.
BUT for obtaining the AUC and predicted probabilities I had to add

Repating a loop of lm function with different columns of database
Hi,
First let me thank you for the incredible help and resource that this forum is.
I am trying to compare the repeated measurement of more than 100 analytes that have been take in 70 subjects at 2 time points adjusted for the time difference of sample times(TimeDifferenceDays), therefore I wanted to do it with a function that allows me to do all at once. (131 is the column difference that

Semi continous variable- define bounds using lpsolve
How to define bounds for a semi continous variable in lp_solve.
Min 5x1 +9x2 +7.15x3 +0.1x4
subject to
x1+x2+x3+x4=6.7
x1+x4 <= 6.5
And x3 can be 0 or greater than 3.6
hence x3 is a semi continous variable
how to define bounds as well as semicontinous function because using
set.semicont and set. bound simantaneously doesn't seem to work. Thanks in

How to select not continous rows?
Hello
How can I select several not continuous rows ?
If I wanted to select rows 1 to 7 I'll write
mydata[,1:7]
But what if I need to select rows 1 to 5 and 10 to 15?

Correlation dichotomous factor, continous (numerical) and ordered factor
Hello R-User!
I appologise in advance if this should also go into statistics but I am
presently puzzled.
I have a data.frame (about 300 rows and about 80 variables) and my variables
are dichotomous factors, continuous (numerical) and ordered factors.
I would like to calculate the linear correlation between every pair of my
variables, because I would like to perform a logistic regression (glm())

How to plot 2 continous variables on double y-axis with 2 factors: ggplot2, gplot, lattice, sciplot?
Hi,
I have a data set with two continous variables that I want to plot MEANS (I
am not intrerested in median values) on a double-y graph. I also have 2
factors. I want the factor combinations plotted in different panes.
Dummy dataset:
mydata <- data.frame(factor1 = factor(rep(LETTERS[1:3], each = 40)),
factor2 = factor(rep(c(1:4), each = 10)),
y1 =

Discretize continous variables....
Hi R helpers,
I'm preparing dataset to fir logistic regression model with lrm(). I
have various cointinous and discrete variables and I would like to:
1. Optimaly discretize continous variables (Optimaly means, maximizing
information value - IV for example)
2. Regroup discrete variables to achieve perhaps smaller number of
level and better information value...
Please suggest if there is

raking weighting
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if there is a package to compute raking weights using
R? What I need is to create a variable with weights base in some
demographic variables (e.g. sexo, age group, area) using the raking
procedure.
Thank you in advance!

grey scale graphs
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how to get "black and white theme" (grey scale,, I
would say) graphs using lattice or ggplot2, as it is shown in this
webpage: http://lmdvr.r-forge.r-project.org/figures/figures.html?
I am using Sweave, and I cannot get that color configuration.
I have added the following option: trellis.device(color=FALSE) but I got
a pdf file with color graphs.

survey package question
Hello,
I have got a cluster sample using an election dataset where I already
had the final results of a county-specific election. I am trying to
figure out what would be the best sampling design for my data.
The structure of the dataset is:
1) polling station (in general schools where people vote, for a
county, for example, there are 15 polling stations)
2) inside each polling station, there

simple if question
Hi everyone,
I have just got different samples from a dataframe (independent and
exclusive, there aren't common elements among them). I want to create a
variable that indicate the sampling selection of the elements in the
original dataframe (for example, 0 = no selected, 1= sample 1, 2=sample
2, etc.).
I have tried to do it with ifelse command, but the problem is that the

mosaic plot with two factors and one continous variable
Hello,
my dataset is already aggregated: I have two categorical variables, say

Now I would like to produce a mosaic plot which uses "population" to
determine how large each area of the plot is.
In other words, I fail to find out

using Paraview "in-situ" with R?
At ORNL, we worked with VisIt (a sibling of Paraview, both funded largely by DOE) around 2016 and made an in situ demo with R. We used packages pbdMPI (on CRAN) and pbdDMAT (on GitHub/RbigData), which were in part built for this purpose. Later also the package hola (on GitHub/RbigData) was built to connect with adios2, which can do buffered in situ connections with various codes.
But the VisIt

Text Summarization
Is there a text mining/ NLP package in R that could do text summarization?
For example, take a huge text as input and provide a summary of the text.
In package tm, summarization is defined more as high frequency terms which
is not what I want. I actually want a summary of what is present in the huge
volume of text.
Any help on a R package would be helpful. Thank you.
