Centos 7.5 - Gnome3 - KVM - Keypad numeric failure
Everyone,
I have a problem with the numeric keypad while using a Centos 7.5 new
installation with kvm.
When I login to the host machine using gnome3 or classic gnome the
numeric keypad does not function. If I activate another 7.5 guest
machine with gnome3 the numeric keypad on the guest does not work
either.
If I login on the host machine using kde as the desktop the keypad
works fine and

Environmental variables
I use a Mac (10.4.11 Mac Os X).
In my .tcshrc I define an environmental variable MY.
Is it possible to find out its value from inside R? When one loads
R for Mac OS X Cocoa GUI written by:
	Simon Urbanek
	Stefano M. Iacus
are files like .tcshrc read by R?
Can I make the value of this environmental variable available to R?
Sys.getenv() produces a lot of output, with the values of many

Press delete key three times in R-2.6.1 to get segmentation fault (PR#10892)

format level 3 prompt
How do I format the prompt at level 3? One of
my accounts has it right, but not the other.
I guessed that it was in .tcshrc which was
missing from the bad account so I copied it
from the good account, but it made no
difference.
Thanks,
Mike.

How to get password expiration?
I was thinking of maybe putting a request update password expire time on
login and have a system user go find the expire times.
with ldap or something?
It could put a file in the users home directory with a timestamp of when
the user's password expires.
Ex:
In the bashrc or tcshrc (the global ones) add a line like so
touch /tmp/requestpwexpupdate/${USER}
and have a cronjob the searches

Samba-3.0.x: Strange problems with roaming profiles
Hello
I've got some strange problems with Samba-3.0.4. When using roaming
profiles, keyboard layout is set to english (instead of norwegian) and a
lot of programs wont load correctly. Setting log level = 3 revealed a
lot of errors after the netlogon-script had executed (and all shares
correctly set up). I switched to log level = 10 to get a more detailed
view of these errors (show below).

login on homes share despite available = no
Hi!
Today I found that a user can successfully login on a homes share despite
that share should be disabled.
To quote smb.conf(1):
   available (S)
This parameter lets you "turn off" a service. If avail-
able = no, then ALL attempts to connect to the service
will fail. Such failures are logged.
However, see the following:

Can we reset CSI u mode on client disconnect? via
ssh already restores all TTY flags on exit:
https://github.com/openssh/openssh-portable/blob/V_9_8_P1/sshtty.c#L56-L78
It's possible there are some exit cases that are not hitting the
leave_raw_mode(), but if so then they aren't obvious.

[PATCH] new *br: Show handoff data
git://git.zytor.com/users/genec/syslinux.git
Branch handoff-mbr-for-hpa
This is a piece of code that can be used in place of a MBR or VBR/PBR
(master boot record; volume/partition) in order to examine the data
handed to the respective boot code. AX, SS, and SP are destroyed
before examining anything. I set an internal restriction that limits
it to 420 bytes such that it could be used with a

Using centos and kickstart to build a minimum installation
Using centos 5.2,
I want to use a kickstart file to select packages in order to have an
unattended install onto a bare-metal server.
Is there any way of finding out which packages I need to compile, build
and run asterisk ?
I generally want to build all modules in asterisk and the wct4xxp zaptel module
I want to be able to not select any groups in the kickstart file, but

Backspace key and gnome-terminal
Hi,
My Delete key does not work anymore in gnome-terminal.
I have a keyboardless server, so I think this may be the problem.
When I press the Delete key, I get the ~ caracter printed.
I deleted all the ~/.g* files, in order to have a clean and default
gnome installation but still, no luck.
This is my locale:
LANG=en_US.ISO-8859-1
LC_CTYPE="en_US.ISO-8859-1"

clicking backspace in centos3 makes ^?
While in centos3, using vim and clicking the backspace I see the ^?
character instead of it actually deleteing the previous character.
In centos4 this was not a problem.
I have rad about remapping keys and such, but can someone tell me what
the difference between centos4 and centos3 is so I can make the change
to make it work on centos3.

Vim - In INSERT Mode, the Backspace key does not work
Hi All,
I'm not very good with Vim.
I noticed when it is in INSERT Mode, the backspace key no longer works.
How to do I configure it so that it will work with the backspace key?
Any ideas?
Thanks
