DatOptic RAID Array >2TB?
i'm trying to set up a hardware RAID array (eRAID from DatOptic) under CentOS. we have two more of these arrays which have worked very well for their purposes (backup and/or portable storage), but neither of our older arrays exceeded the dreaded 2TB barrier (one of them is, in fact, 2TB). the server i'm currently testing with is running CentOS4.5, but i do have CentOS5

Request for assistance: grubby
I wonder if there would be anyone who would be willing to add extlinux support to RedHat's grubby program. From the looks of it, they already have grub, lilo, zipl, elilo, yaboot, and silo support, so I can't imagine it's that complex. -hpa

keytab-lilo included with SYSLINUX is not up to date
Hi, I just noticed that the keytab-lilo utility included with SYSLINUX isn't up to date. It *is* a problem since the old version isn't compatible with current distributions like Debian ou Ubuntu (for example). Two options are offered to those who would like to use keytab-lilo in order to generate a file compatible with the KBDMAP directive : - use an up to date version of keytab-lilo

Error occurs when build kernel 3.2.0
Hi all, Please let me know if this is not the right place to ask this question. I was trying to compile and build kernel 3.2.0, by following <Linux Administration - A Beginner's Guide> written by Wale Soyinka. Error occurs after running the following command: # new-kernel-pkg -v --mkinitrd --depmod --install 3.2.0-custom initrdfile is /boot/initrd-3.2.0-custom.img

Booting CentOS with LILO?
Hello all! I would like to know if is possible to use LILO as the boot loader instead of the default GRUB. My question comes because I tried to run lilo command but the message "command not found" appear. It sounds like my only boot loader option in CentOS is GRUB ??. I found lilo.conf.anaconda, but not the lilo command. From already thanks. Regards, Juan P. Espino

lilo causes a "Unexpected dirty buffer encountered at do_get_write_access:597 (03:02 blocknr 0)"
On my Debian box: Package: lilo Version: 1:22.2-5 Severity: normal lilo seems to cause a kernel warning (see subject) when / is a ext3 partition. Maybe a kernel problem? Who knows. many thanks to 'lilo'
As some of you may have heard, Rob Levin, known as 'lilo' on IRC, died today after being hit by a car a few days ago. On behalf of the Samba community I'd like to express our sorrow at losing lilo, and our gratitude to him for providing such fantastic service to the free software community over the years. The #samba-technical IRC channel has been an extremely important development
