build postfix spec w/ mysql
hello list!
I am attempting to build an rpm of postfix that includes support for mysql. I've done this before with earlier versions on postfix but I am staring at this spec file until my eyes bleed and I just don't see why when I build the spec with rpmbuild mysql support isn't there.
After I install the rpm I have a look at the modules as such:
ldd $(which postfix) | grep -i

Postfix 2.2.x RPM ETA
Guys
I'm desperately looking for a postfix 2.2.x SRPM. I currently use 2.1.5..
I've found these, http://ftp.wl0.org/yum/postfix/2.2/rhel4/SRPMS.postfix/
Has anyone tried them, or can anyone recommend a proper SRPM for me
for Centos 4.1?
Kind regards

downloading postfix srpm
guys,
for some reason this is just eluding me. I need to download a source
rpm for postfix as I've done many times in the past. But when I go to
the available packages section of the postfix site and click on my
architecture this is what I see:
http://ftp.wl0.org/official/2.9/RPMS-rhel5-x86_64/
Maybe I'm missing something obvious here? If you needed to download a
source rpm for

Getting netmeeting to work with Asterisk
Hello All,
Finally I realised that the Asterisk demo setup didn't include support for
h323. (Maybe it should have been obvious) so I went to work out how to
get the h323 channel running.
I had openh323 and pwlib installed as I'd been playing with vocal so it
didn't take long to do cd asterisk/channels/h323; make; make install; make
samples, copy the pwlib and h323 libraries to

build postfix rpm with mysql
hello list,
I'm trying to build a postfix rpm that has mysql support included.
I've found the line where I need to define mysql support but it seems
that I am being tripped up by some build dependencies:
[root at beta SPECS]# rpmbuild -ba postfix.spec
error: Failed build dependencies:
MySQL-shared is needed by postfix-2.9.1-1.rhel5.x86_64
MySQL-devel is needed by

Sound: Recording overrun
Hello All,
I've just been made aware of Asterisk and have installed it. Things seem
to be working: I can dial from the console the internal numbers and hear
the answerphone messages and do other interesting stuff.
however when I hangup the call I see a continuous stream of messages
saying "Sound: Recording overrun" appear on ALL my linux consoles and I
can't see what I'm

sendmail invocation in voicemail and voicemail2 applications
The voicemail and voicemail2 applications both invoke sendmail as
/usr/sbin/sendmail -t. However sendmail is invoked using popen(3), the
input being terminated when the pipe is closed and not when a . is entered
on a new line.
While it looks like the code at the moment can't generate a single line
with a '.', it might be prudent to apply the following patch which tells

Asterisk confused when interface has multiple addresses?
I have asterisk configured on a machine connected to Internet by a cable
modem with a public ip. The same network card has a private lan address
which I'm trying to use to play with an asterisk configuration with X-lite
or an softip phone.
sip.conf has bindaddr=192.168.0.1 [the private address of the LAN] to
which the client [192.168.0.2] is connected.

Postfix 2.6.5 in CentOSplus?
Hi folks,
according to several findings on the web I tried to find postfix-2.6.5
in centosplus adding this to my /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo:
[base]
exclude=postfix
[centosplus]
includepkgs=postfix
in the right places.
But when I "yum remove" and "yum install" postfix then, it's "only"
2.3.3-2.1 with added mysql/pqsql support.

Best way to have Postfix 2.3 or 2.4 on Centos 4.4?
Greetings,
I would like to install Postfix 2.3 or 2.4 (I need support for SASL
authentication via Dovecot) on a Centos 4.4 server.
I have already found rpm packages at
http://postfix.wl0.org/en/available-packages/ and pages about using
the centosplus repo for postfix.
Before launching rpm or yum, however, I'd like to ask the list which
way you think is the best way to do this. By

newer (2.7) Postfix RPM packages for RH
Postfix 2.3.3 that comes with RH/CentOS is very old, there are lots of
new features in newer versions that appear to be very useful (revised
queue manager with better scheduler as far back as v2.5, etc.).
Latest stable version is 2.7. I was looking for RPM packages and I've
found this site:

Anybody using it? Good things, bad things?...

Subtracting timeseries objects
Sorry to keep posting but I want to do this right and I'm hoping for
some pointers
I now have two time series objects which I need to subtract.
Unfortunatly the two series dont have the same sample rates.
When I try to subtract them
avgSub<-avg1-avg2
The time series object is clever enough to object.
So I guess I need to write a function for subtraction of the time series
objects which

Postfix on Centos3.3
Hi, as far as security advisories from Redhat I only
see the last update to Postfix being 9/2/04
2.0.16-14.RHEL3.
Centos3.3 however added a newer version that I am
currently using which matches the last 2.0 version
official release at postfix.org.
/pub/cAos/centos-3/3.3/contrib/i386/RPMS/
postfix-2.0.20-1.centos3.1
Since I am running this as my public smtp server it
makes me wonder why Redhat

How to manage partitions and logical volumes with puppet?
Hi,
As someone new to puppet I''m trying to work out the best way to manage
different filesystems and logical volumes on different servers. Specifically
I would like to be able to define on a series of nodes different LVM logical
volumes to create and mount.
I''m trying to do this at the moment with a define of the following type:
# Manage a partition and create if needed.

Samba 3.0.12 (gid of user [joe] doesn't exist) Weird error when Client logs on.
Hi,
I just recently purchased a new server and took this opportunity to
upgrade to the latest version of samba (3.0.12). Unfortunatly, I have
some weird occurances. I have a user called "joe" who is my admin
user.
In /etc/passwd I have this:
joe:x:500:500:Joe:/home/joe:/bin/bash
In /etc/group I have this:
admin:x:500:joe
id returns correctly:
uid=500(joe) gid=500(admin)
