About IPv6 Link-Local Address(CentOS5)
Hello
Because I did not send , and then retransmitted.
I am using the CentOS5.7.
In a state where the link down, I did a ping to the IPv4 and IPv6.
IPv4 succeeds in ping. but, IPv6 is ping fails.
Once confirmed by ifconfig, it did not have a Link-Local Address.
At link down, Is the Link-Local Address not set?
Leave the link down, Is there a way to avoid this?

Garch Warning
Dear all R-users,
I wanted to fit a Garch(1,1) model to a dataset by:

But I got a warning message while executing, which is:

Plot two separate curves in R Graphics and R Lattice package
Hi,
How can I plot two curves with distinct x and y vectors? I would like to
join one of them by regular lines and plot the other just by points (no
lines). Can it be done in regular R graphic tools, say "plot" function?
Can it be done in Lattice package, say "xyplot" function?
Thanks,
Miao
My data look like this: two curves with different vector size

plm "within" models: is the correct F-statistic reported?
Dear R users
I get different F-statistic results for a "within" model, when using
"time" or "twoways" effects in plm() [1] and when manually specifying
the time control dummies [2].

vfs_fruit causes delay in listing directories for Windows clients
Listing directories with many files (10000+) from a Windows client is
nociceably slower when vfs_fruit is enabled on the samba server compared
to the same setup without vfs_fruit.
On my setup it's roughly 2.5 times slower. To me it looks like this is
caused by the getxattr call which is only present with vfs_fruit
activated and introduces an additional delay of ~ 0.00033 s per listed

simple save question
Hi,
When I run the survfit function, I want to get the restricted mean
value and the standard error also. I found out using the "print"
function to do so, as shown below,
print(km.fit,print.rmean=TRUE)
Call: survfit(formula = Surv(diff, status) ~ 1, type = "kaplan-meier")
records n.max n.start events *rmean *se(rmean) median

Exporting a PCI Device
Hi All,
just a quick question I could not figure out. Is there a way to export a
PCI device to multiple VMs (para) keeping it available to dom0? Xen
version is 3.0.4.
Thanks,
Jan

Difference in ANOVA results - R vs. JMP/Minitab
Hi,
I ran a small data set from a factorial experiment through R, Minitab
and JMP... the result from R is significantly different from what
Minitab or JMP give... The data set is at the following link:

The first 5 columns are the factors and the next three are responses.
In particular, for the response beta11MSE, two of the

Highlighting a few bars in a barplot
Hello,
I have a bar plot where I am already using colour to distinguish one set
of samples from another. I would also like to highlight a few of these
bars as ones that should be looked at in detail. I was thinking of
using hatching, but I can't work out how or if you can have a background
colour and hatching which is different between bars. Any suggestions on
how I should do this?
Thanks

na.action in randomForest
The help page for randomForest shows na.action=na.fail as a parameter, and
does not describe other possibilities for na.action.
I have a regression problem, with about 1000 rows in my data frame, and with
an NA in occasional predictor variables, in about 5% of rows. I would like
to have all rows included in the analysis, to the extent possible. (That
seems to be possible in rpart, for example.)

Regression query
Hi
I have a set of data with both quantitative and categorical predictors.
After scaling of response variable, i looked for multicollinearity (VIF
values)
among the predictors and removed the predictors who were hinding some of the
other significant
predictors. I'm curious to know whether the predictors (who are not
significant)
while doing simple 'lm' will be involved in
