Does anyone know if it is possible to get the length of the log phase (the
main growth phase) from a grofit logistic model?
I can get the lag phase length, maximum growth and max rate of growth, but I
also want to know the length of the log phase (ie, for how long do the
bacteria grow exponentially?)

growth models generally. The data used by grofit consists of the vector of
"experiments", that is the growth values for a vector of individuals
measured at different times. Can I understand correctly that the program

Hi
Is it possible to use grofit to get the AIC of several (e.g. two) growth
models and compare both these and model parameters? All I can get it to do
so far is return parameters for a single model.

The test is manova. I tried to use manova() function, I used the code below:fit <- manova(Y ~ X)summary(fit, test="Wilks")but I get p values for intercept and regression coefficient as in anova() function, not for the hull model.

nlsList{nlme} control of min and max parameter bounds?
Hi All
I'm analysing growth rates using a gompertz (logistic) curve and am attempting
to fit parameters for all of my study birds using nlsList.
I've been looking for an option in nlsList to set min and max limits for
parameter values during estimation, although I have failed to find any under
'control'. Other users seem to have reported that using control in the port
algorithm

NLS-Weibull-ERROR
Hello
I was trying to estimate the weibull model using nls after putting OLS
values as the initial inputs to NLS.
I tried multiple times but still i m getting the same error of Error in
nlsModel(formula, mf, start, wts) :
singular gradient matrix at initial parameter estimates.

multivariate regression
How can I run multivariate linear regression in R (I have got 3 dependent variables and only 1 independent variable)? I tried lm function, but it gave different R2 and p values for every dependent variable. I need one R2 and p value for the model.

Fitting data to a sigmoidal curve
Hi-
I'm a biologist trying to figure out the growth rate of salamanders in
different ponds. I collected individuals from various populations at
different dates, and using the size and date collected, I want to figure out
the growth curve of each population. My question is: How do I fit my data to
a Gompertz function in R?

fitting a gompertz model through the origin using nls
Dear all!
I tried to fit Gompertz growth models to describe cummulative germination rates
using nls. I used the following code:
germ.model<-nls(percent.germ~a*exp(-b*exp(-k*day)),data=tab,start=list(a=100,b=10,k=0.5))
My problem is that I want that the fitted model goes through the origin, since
germination cannot start before the experiment was started, and y-max should be
100.

Solving a multinomial gompertz partial differential equation in r
I haven't used r in quite a while but would like to get back into it. I
have a problem that I would like to solve with r. I have some multinomial
data that looks to follow an asymmetric sigmoidal growth pattern. Solving
a multinomial gompertz partial differential equation in r is what I’m after.
Would anyone be able to provide me the code and packages to do something
