[BioC] problem with biomaRt getHomolog function
Steffen, When the new biomaRt tries to load it errors out because I do not have RMySQL installed. There is not a Windows binary for RMySQL and it does contain C code that I do not know how to build. I do not use the MySQL option in biomaRt. Does RMySQL need to be a required dependency? Below is my screen output and sessionINfo. require(biomaRt) Loading required package: biomaRt Loading required

deparse() and the 'else' statement
Hi all, It is recommended in ?'if' that we use 'else' right after '}' instead of starting a new line, but I noticed deparse() will separate '}' and 'else' when the 'if...else' clause is used inside {...} (e.g. function body). Here is an example: ## if/else inside {} > cat(deparse(parse(text='function(){if (TRUE) {1} else {2}}')),

How to get commands history as a character vector instead of displaying them?
Hi Everyone, I want to get the commands history as a character vector instead of just displaying them, but the function history() just returns NULL. I checked the source code of 'history' and could not find a solution. Anybody has an idea? Thanks! P. S. My original problem is, when a user opens a graphics device like png() or pdf(), I want to know the file name used by this device. I

Loading externally created LIBSVM model into R.
I used the c binary svm-train in LIBSVM to create a model file. How do I load this model file into R? Is there a function in R package e1071 that accomplishes this operation? how to interpret coefficients from multiclass svm using libsvm (for multiclass R-SVM)
Hello all, I'm working with the svm (libsvm) implementation from library(e1071). Currently I'm trying to extend recursive feature elimination (R-SMV) to work with multiclass classification. My problem is that if I run svm for a 3 class problem I get a 2-D vector back from model$coefs, can someone explain me what this values are? I understand them in the 2-class problem where this is a

Un-reproductibility of SVM classification with 'e1071' libSVM package
Hello, When calling several times the svm() function, I get different results. Do I miss something, or is there some random generation in the C library? In this second hypothesis, is it possible to fix an eventual seed? Thank you Pierre ### Example library('e1071') x = rnorm(100) # train set y = rnorm(100) c = runif(100)>0.5 x2 = rnorm(100)# test set y2 = rnorm(100) # learning a

How to eliminate for next loops in this script
I needed to compute a complicated cross tabulation to show weighted means and standard deviations and the only method I could get that worked uses a series of nested for next loops. I know that there must be a better way to do so, but could use some assistance pointing the way. Here is my working, but inefficient script: library(Hmisc) rm(list=ls()) load('NHTS.Rdata') day.wt <-

[PATCH v5 6/9] x86, kvm: support vcpu preempted check
Support the vcpu_is_preempted() functionality under KVM. This will enhance lock performance on overcommitted hosts (more runnable vcpus than physical cpus in the system) as doing busy waits for preempted vcpus will hurt system performance far worse than early yielding. Use one field of struct kvm_steal_time to indicate that if one vcpu is running or not. unix benchmark result: host: kernel
