print table on plot
Hello,
I would like to be able to plot an array on a plot, something like:
|arg1 | arg2 | arg3
val1| 0.9 | 1.1 | 2.4
val2| 0.33 | 0.23 | -1.4
val3| hello| stop | test
I know Rwave is good to report but don't want to use it.
? Is there a package that allow quick and dirty plot of dataframes like this
?
Thanks a lot

simulating stable VAR process
Hello all,
I looking at package dse or vars or mAr
I know how to simulate a VAR(p) process, my problem is that most of those
processes are unstable (not weakly stationary).
Do anybody know how to generate a random VAR (or VARMA even better) process
that is weakly stationary?
Thanks

I have a data.frame and I want to transfor it in a list of rows or columns.
I can do apply(myDataFrame,MARGIN=1,FUN=???)
I remember that there is a function which mean return or access column ...

I can't remember can somebody refresh my memory?

Good documentation about Sweave
Hello,
I am looking for a good and detailed documentation about Sweave... but can't
find anything more that 15 pages asking Google...
Any hint on that point ?
Cheers

Problem compiling Icecast on RedHat
Hi,
I'm trying to build Icecast on a RedHat AS3 workstation. All the requisite
libraries are already bundled with the distro. IThe compile runs for maybe
30 seconds (maybe less) and then fails. The last few lines of the make
output are appended below. I'm not even sure what it's actually complaing
about.
gcc -pthread -g -O2 -o icecast cfgfile.o main.o logging.o sighandler.o

Milliseconds and Time object
Hello all,
my question for today is the following :
I have
1. a date (in a string but straightforward to convert to any format)
2. the time as the number of milliseconds elapsed since hour 00:00:00.000 of
this date.
My question is :
1. Is there a in built function that can give me the date+time (as POSIX
object for instance) from what I have ?

Help with xlab and ylab distance from axes
Dear r-helpers,
In basic graphics, I have a figure with x and y axes suppresed. I
would like to move the xlab and the ylab closer to the axes. Do I
have to use mtext()?

rotated ylab with xyplot
hi all,
in R, what's the best way to have a rotated ylab in a graph plotted with
either xyplot or xYplot? I tried this but it didn't work.
xyplot(y~x,data.frame(x=1:10,y=runif(10)),ylab=list(srt=90,crt=90,rot=90,label="my label"))
more generally, how do you output a text at an angle in a lattice graph?
what would be a good reference for R lattice graphics? I need more

Math symbols in ylab with vis.gam() or plot.gam()
Hi all,
Has anyone tried to plot math symbols with vis.gam() - a function that uses
(I think) plot.gam() internally? This is from the package mgcv - I am new to
gam().
For example, with the normal plot(), the expression() works fine for Math
symbols:
plot(xx, ylab=expression(paste(Delta,"H",sep=""))) # works fine
But, with vis.gam(), the same

Greek symbols on "ylab=" using barchart() {Lattice}
Hi All,
I'm trying to write "ug/m3" as y-label, with greek letter "mu" replacing "u"
AND "3" going as a power.
These commands works in general:
plot.new()
text(0.5, 0.5, expression(symbol("m")))
But, I'm sure about how to do it using barchart() from "Lattice". Can anyone
help please?
Thanks,
Peng Cai

I'm trying to get following but not successfully:
# this works okay

saying some text, like.
ylab=expression("PM[2.5] Concentration ("*mu*g/m^3*")"\n(random text in
brackets))

plot.ts don't accept ylab (PR#2428)
Full_Name: Joerg Maeder

#Test Data: simple 2dimensional time series
testdata <- ts(cbind(runif(24),runif(24),freq=4))

ylab in time series plot (PR#2869)
You get a warning message when you specify a ylab parameter while
plotting data whose x's are POSIXct values. Apparently the
`axis.POSIXct' method tries to reset the ylab---via the ...
parameter---after it has already been set by higher level methods.
Here is a function that illustrates the problem.
ylabProblem <- function() {
x <- ISOdate(2003, 4, 1:10) # POSIXct

qqnorm(*, datax=TRUE, xlab,ylab) -- S+ compatibility problem
Just found because an old (written for S+) function of mine did

Example --- inspired from example(qqnorm) ---

qqnorm(precip, ylab = "Precipitation [in/yr] ...")
qqnorm(precip, ylab = "Precipitation [in/yr] ...", datax = TRUE)
this is all "fine" -- `datax' is a switch that just switches the
axes but keeps the

Bug report: Disappearing text when using a long "expression" in ylab
Hello all,
After help form Barry Rowlingson I am reporting my first bug to R-devel.
Please be kind if I did something wrong in the reporting - and many thanks
for anyone who is reading this e-mail.
Example of the bug:
tt <- expression(paste("test
loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo(% of 360" *degree,")"))
