How to remove a package.
Hi folks, library(AER) data() I found the datasets of AER package. But I couldn't remove AER with: either detach("package:AER") or detach("package:AER", unload = TRUE) data() still found "car" there. What will be the correct way to remove it? TIA Besides:- I couldn't find EcDat > library(EcDat) Error in library(EcDat) : there is no package

trouble reading in datasets
Dear All, I was trying to follow some of the examples in Venables and Ripley "Modern applied ... with S-plus" I have downloaded a copy of the iris data set and loaded into R. : however I cannot use the apply command (from p47): > apply (iris, 2 ,mean) Error in sum(..., na.rm = na.rm) : invalid "mode" of argument > apply (iris, c(2) ,mean) Error in sum(..., na.rm =

filter_parameter_logging
Hi, Is there a way to specify keys of a hash in params to filter_parameter_logging. For example, my payment form sends creditcard[:number] and creditcard[:type] in params and I filter these keys using filter_parameter_logging :number, :type. I don''t want :number and :type in other forms to be filtered. Is there a way to solve this? thanks, Ritesh

validates_associated bug?
i seem to be experiencing a bug where rails tells me that my organization object''s associated credit card is invalid (activerecord validation-wise invalid), when i know it to be valid. this happens only if i tell the organization to validate_associated :credit_card. i know the associated credit card is valid, because a) that credit_card object itself throws no validation errors, and b)

Problem w/ActionWebService and Inheritance in Service Params
I have a service method that takes a PaymentMethod which can either be a CreditCard or a PayPal account. When I request the service and pass one or the other it always comes over as a PaymentMethod; the service doesn''t seem to know that the parameter is really a CreditCard or PayPal. Here''s some sample code that illustrates what I''m talking about more concretely:

My controller became fat trying to handle multiple models - need guidance please
Hello all. I am experiencing something that has to be fairly common in the rails world, but I haven''t found a clean solution yet. I have a SignupController that handles multiple models in a single form. Those models are User, UserProfile, CreditCard, Subscription, and Order. When the form is filled out and posted, I want to do exactly what I would do if the form was only for a single

Rails 3 / ActiveModel for Credit Card information?
When submitting billing information in the past I''ve always used attr_accessor for credit card details as they should not be saved in the database. In addition I always end up storing the card expiration date so that the date form helper works correctly. With Active Model it seems logical to create a CreditCard class to hold this data instead. **1st issue.** It seems there still

[RFC][patch 0/7] Enable PCIE-AER support for XEN
Following 7 patches are for PCIE AER (Advanced Error Reporting) support for XEN. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Patches 1~4 back port from Linux Kernel which enables kernel support to AER. Those patches enable DOM0 PCIE error handling capability. When a device sends a PCIE error message to the root port, it will trigger an interrupt. The irq handler

ActiveMerchant
Is anyone using ActiveMerchant currently? I''ve seen it recommended on this list several times, but it seems kind of buggy and incomplete and I''m having trouble getting it to work. >From the example at http://home.leetsoft.com/am/, I''ve tried: gateway = ActiveMerchant::Base.gateway(:authorized_net) response = gateway.capture(1000, creditcard) ..but it

splitting dataset based on variable and re-combining
I have a dataset and I wish to use two different models to predict. Both models are SVM. The reason for two different models is based on the sex of the observation. I wish to be able to make predictions and have the results be in the same order as my original dataset. To illustrate I will use iris: # Take Iris and create a dataframe of just two Species, setosa and versicolor, shuffle them

Sometimes commands do not terminate after upgrading to R 4.0 and Ubuntu 20.04
I have upgraded R (from 3.6 to 4.0) and RStudio (from 1.1 to 1.2.5) a few days ago, and Ubuntu from 18.04 to 20.04 yesterday. Since then, R sometimes never terminates when executing certain commands: ivreg (from package AER), summary (of a logit regression) and logitmfx (from package mfx). Sometimes these commands run fine, but most of the time I have to kill the process because R won't

bwplot questions: box order, axis breaks, and multiple y-axis labels
Hi all, I used bwplot in lattice to create a 6-panel boxplot grouped by a conditioning variable (param) that displays concentration (conc) in response to treatment (trtmnt). Here is the functional part of my code followed by my three questions: library(lattice); ww<-read.csv(file="c:/Rdata/lattice_boxplot_prep.csv",header=TRUE,sep=","); attach(ww);

belongs_to causing endless loop on first call to save!
Hi, I have a situation I''m hoping someone out there may be able to shed some light on. I have a Rails app (2.1.0 on Ruby 1.8.7) with a wizard-based sign up process, that has recently been changed from storing incremental data in the database to having a medium sized object graph living in the user session until the user completes the entire sign up process (this is a business

Suggestion for posting guide
I have a suggestion for the posting guide. One problem with some posts is that they do not provide an example that can be reproduced. I think that many people just do not know how to easily specify some data and some technical assistance should be provided in the posting guide. If the problem depends on specific data they should be made aware, in the posting guide, of: dput(x) since that

OdfWeave and Locale

split() bug? Inconsistent Windows/Linux behavior.
I didn't see anything on this in the bug reports, and a search of the archives had lots of false positives when searching on "split" to be helpful. I don't view this as particularly interesting or useful, but wanted to report it because I stumbled on it (and don't remember ever seeing "invalid permissions" as part of a segfault).? Yes, I realize this is a silly
