What besides Postfix should not start until system time set?
So I have learned that Postfix should delay until Chronyd has moved the system time from 0 to current. What other services need to be delayed? Apache? Bind? Of course if this is a nameserver, Chronyd will probably not be able to resolve the NTP server addresses until Bind is running! thanks

Broken Date Selection Window
Hi, I've been working on getting the application WeatherScope working under Wine. http://sdg.ocs.ou.edu/builds/final/win/WeatherScope/WeatherScope-1.2.1.exe (Free for educational and non-commercial use) With a little help from Rein Klazes, I've gotten the application running. The program is usable, but it has some pretty major warts, at least under Wine 20050310. The biggest one is

4. Rexcel (Luis Felipe Parra)-how to run a code from excel
Hi Louis, It's simple to run a r script from the excel spreadsheet. Just write your code, source("C:\\Quantil Aplicativos\\Genercauca\\BackwardSelectionNC.r"), into a cell of a workingsheet. Then right-click the cell and select "run code" in the pop-up menu. Hope this will help you. Best, Bernard -----????----- ???: r-help-bounces at r-project.org [mailto:r-help-bounces

Dear David, This is amazing, thank you so much. If I may ask another question: The output looks like the following: ### dput(head(x,15)) c("Metadata for Requested Time Series:", "", "prod_name=GLDAS_NOAH025_3H_v2.0", "param_short_name=Tair_f_inst", "param_name=Near surface air temperature", "unit=K",

system clock
I am running CntOS 5 with Gnome. Every now and then I have noticed that the computer will somehow get the time wrong by several hours. Is there a simple way to adjust the time? So far the only way I have found is to boot into windows (it is a dual boot system), make the change there, and then get back into CentOS. Older versions of Red Hat and Fedora let you do it by right-clicking on

optim with contraints
There seems to exist peculiar cases where optim does not take care of constraints on the parameters to be optimized over. The call to optim is of the form opt <- optim(cp, fn=sn.dev, gr=sn.dev.gh, method="L-BFGS-B", lower=c(-Inf, 1e-10, -0.99527), upper=c( Inf, Inf, 0.99527), control=control, X=X, y=y, hessian=FALSE) The code has worked fine

OHLC Plot with EMA in it
Hi there I have some timeseries data which I plot in a OHLC Plot. In the same plot I'd like to have the EMA of this timeseries. I tried to add the EMA point to OHLC with lines(), but this doesn't work. Has anyone an idea how to handle it? Regards, Michael Zak

intraday OHLC plot
I want to create a open/high/low/last plot of intraday data. I try to use the function plotOHLC from the tsteries package. I create my own multiple time series and then try to plot it. raw Data Format (file eurusd2.csv): "Date (GMT)" "Open" "High" "Low" "Last" 17-03-2008 00:00:00 1,5764 1,5766 1,5747 1,5750 17-03-2008 00:05:00 1,5749 1,5750 1,5741

Is this a bug in quantmod::OpCl?
OpCl works on xts objects but not on quantmod.OHLC objects. Is this a bug? Example error: x.Date <- as.Date("2003-02-01") + c(1, 3, 7, 9, 14) - 1 set.seed(1) x <- zoo(matrix(runif(20, 0, 1), nrow=5, ncol=4), x.Date) q <- as.quantmod.OHLC(x,c("Open","High","Low","Close")) # error OpCl(q) #> Error in `colnames<-`(`*tmp*`, value =
