Returning highs and lows in R
I'm having trouble returning a rolling n period highest value for a data set. For each day I want to calculate the highest value over the last 3 days. I am using the following packages: zoo, xts, quantmod and TTR. Large discrepancies in the same object being saved to .RData
Hi developers, After some investigation I have found there can be large discrepancies in the same object being saved as an external "xx.RData" file. The immediate repercussion of this is the possible increased size of your .RData workspace for no apparent reason. The function and its three scenarios below highlight these discrepancies. Note that the object being returned is exactly

autoloading .RData files / .Rhistory file
NOTE: WinXP, R2.2.0 All, a while back I posted a question about using relative filereferencing. The responses have allowed me to successfully set up the following directory structure: ...\data\raw ...\data\derived ...\prog ...\lst ...\log In the \prog directory I have put an RGui.exe shortcut and "pointed it" at \prog as the "Start In" location. Understood. In my case, a.RData and b.RData contain identical variables/data, plus simulation outputs from separate runs. The codes deliver what I need. Good to know the three lines work. Thank you. Getting data from an *.RData file into a data.frame object.
Hi, all. I'm new to R. I've been a SAS programmer for 20 years. I seem to be having trouble with the most basic task - bringing a table in an *.RData file into a data.frame object. Here's how I created the *.RData file. library(RODBC) db <- odbcConnect("*******") df <- sqlQuery( db , "select * from schema.table where year(someDate)=2006" ) save(

Loading .Rdata within an R function
Colleagues: I am having trouble loading data from within .Rdata file within the environment of a function. That is, the following always loads to the global environment: f1 <- function() { load("mydata.Rdata") # compute with objects from mydata.Rdata. } I wish to load mydata.Rdata only within the function f1. Perhaps I have misunderstood

Problem loading .Rdata file
Dear all, I'm having troubles migrating a large matrix from one system to another. #system 1: Ubuntu 12.04, 64-bit, running R 2.15.2 # do some simulations # save the simulations > save(Output, file = "Simulations.Rdata") #Output is a numeric matrix with 6 columns and about 2M rows. Use ftp to transfer the Simulations.Rdata file to system 2 #system2: Windows XP, 32-bit running

.RData and UNIX
Hi, I have been using R under Windows but have started to use R (ver. 2.3.0,) under Linux (linux-gnu). I have been saving my workspace and I notice that I sometimes end up with 2 version of the .RData file: .RData and .Rdata. Can someone explain what is happening? I am not sure which one is loaded so I have ended up losing data by deleting the wrong file. I think the saved file should be

How to convert .Rdata file into .csv or something else?
Welcome to the forum .Rdata may contain many different objects. I would suggest doing a? "ls()" to see what objects you have. then have a look at ?write.table or ?write.csvThese commands will write many types of objects to a .csv file. For example if I have a data.frame called "dat1" I can write it to a csv (text) file like this: write.csv(dat1, "~/Rjunk/mydata.csv")

How to convert .Rdata file into .csv or something else?
Dear mailing list members, I am a beginner of this community. I would like to analyze data in a .rdata file. I ran the following code, but the object "d" remained empty. d <- load("~/docdis/input/ch2/WV6_Data_R_v_2016_01_01.rdata") I would like to know how to convert this file format into .csv or .txt. I suppose this question is very basic, but I could not find solutions

Fatal error .RData
We are using R in our class. One student claims to be receiving the message "Fatal error: unable to restore saved data in .RData" The student is working in a Windows environment with Vista using the precompiled binary distribution (R-2.7.2). After searching the R site and reading FAQs, I suggested the student find .RData in the working directory and delete it. The student claims this

Make R 3.0 open .RData files
Hello! I have Windows 7 Enterprise and two versions of R installed: 2.15.3 and 3.0.0. Before I had R 3.0 I made it a setting that all .RData files - when I double-click on them - were opened by R 2.15.3. Now I want them to be opened by R 3.0 instead of R 2.15.3 (but I don't want to remove R 2.15.3. yet). I right-click on some .RData file, select "Open with" - "Choose default

Error in opening .RData containing a genefilter object

I have to restore the .RData file from a backup to be able to start R again. I didn't upgrade to Version 2.2 but I'm not sure that it will solve the problem. Did anyone have encounter the same problem? Below is a short r session to reproduce the error: ...

Suggestion: Re: Fatal error .RData
R-core, may I suggest that the error message returns the absolute path (or even the relative path) and not just the filename/basename, e.g. "Fatal error: unable to restore saved data in C:/Users/foo/.RData" /Henrik On Thu, Sep 18, 2008 at 6:41 AM, Green, Paul <pgreen at umich.edu> wrote: > We are using R in our class.
