How do I get "total inertia"+"R-squared" in R?
Dear people at the R-help-list.
I have run into a problem in the package "vegan", while using the function "vegan",
and would greatly appreciate any advice how to solve the problem.
I have put in my data R, using the "decorana" function in the package "vegan" and received nice coordinates for the DCA of sites and species, as well as the Eigenvalues for the

unknown decorana error returned (vegan package)
Hi
After trying a simple decorana analysis (from the vegan package) on a simple
data frame which contains no NA's the following error was returned:
> tt_decorana(covN)
Error in decorana(covN) : NA/NaN/Inf in foreign function call (arg 1)
Have any vegan users come across this error and know what can be done about it?
Cheers,
J

rda variance partioning in vegan problems
This is not a request for coding help so there is no reproducible code,
rather I am trying to figure out if anyone had had a similar experience.
My question is related to partitioning the variance in rda (vegan) results
for multiple groups of variables. I have a high dimensional dataset with
79 explanatory variables and 9 response variables. Within those 79
explanatory variables there are ~8

ordination in vegan
Hi all,
I have site data with plant species cover and am looking for trends. I'm
kind of new to this, but have done lots of reading and can't find an answer.
I tried decorana (I know it's been replaced by ca.) and see a trend, but I'm
not sure what it means. Is there a way to get the loadings/eigenvectors of
the axes (like in PCA)? Is there a way to do this with rda() too? How

environmental data as vector in PCA plots
Hi,
I want to include a vector representing the sites - environmental data
correlation in a PCA.
I currently use prcomp (no scaling) to perform the PCA, and envfit to
retrieve the coordinates of the environmental data vector. However, the
vector length is different from the one obtained in CAnoco when performing
a species - environmental biplot (scaling -2). How can I scale the vector
in order to

PDC for Win98
My Problem is:
I installed Samba 2.2.7 on Linux. All the win98-Clients have access to the samba shares, but login doesn't work:
in log.smbd: waiting for a connection
the Client: "Kein Domainserver verf?gbar"
With our old Server, everything was OK

any DCCA function in R?
Dear members,
I am performing multivariate analysis on marine benthic populations
using R. At first glance I found ca and VEGANO packages to be the
suitable for the task, but neither has incorporated Detrended Canonical
Correspondence Analysis (DCCA), which is just the method I want to apply
on my data. I've looked for alternative packages containing the method,
but my suspicion is that

Vegan(ordistep) error: Error in if (aod[1, 5] <= Pin) { : missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed
I am getting the following erro rmessage in ordistep. I have a number of
similarly structured datasets using ordistep in a loop, and the message
only occurs for some of the datasets.
I cannot include a reproducible sample - the specific datasets where this
is occur ing are fairly large and there are several pcnm's in the rhs of
the formula.
thanks for any pointers that may allow me to

Cannot find ldfortran (R on Cygwin)
Hi
I am new to Cygwin and Linux.
I installed R under Cygwin as part of the setup
I chose "All" during installation, for all packages. So I have the FULL
installlation of cygwin up and running, including gfortran.
*Under Cygwin, how do I check and configure the path to the various
libraries?*
I am trying below command and it says, cannot find "lgfortran"

Redundancy canonical analysis plot problem in 3D using VEGAN, RGL, SCATTERPLOT3D and SFSMISC
Hello Sir
I am getting problem in plotting in CCA . Could you please help me? I wrote the below command but I don't know why it is taking only first 5 env data rather than all 9.

Me gustaría saber
si existe alguna función que sobre esta información me arrojara la lista

The RV coinertia coefficient to interpret multivariate analysis plots
Dear all community,
My issue is related to the R package (made4) that permits me to calculate
the RV coefficient of co-inertia. However, it is a theoretical question.
And if I am not mistaken, the list Usenet groups sci.stat.consult is not
currently active.
Let me explain briefly:
Through different microbiota datasets, I have plotted PCoA, db-RDA and
sPLS-DA using 3 different types of

Hola!

E&M Wink start problem
Attempting to talk to an Eagle Telephonics switch at a disaster
exercise. Didn't think a plain old E&M wink start T1 would be this
much of an issue.
We finally got the Eagle to accept a call from *, but whilst I can
hear the person on the Eagle, they can't hear me. When they initiate
a dial out I only get the first 2 digits from their switch...
Does anyone have decent

Rotating Titles
Hi All,
I am looking for help in rotating species titles produced using the
strat.plot( ) function in the rioja package. This function produces a
stratigraphic plot of paleoenvironmental data. Currently the titles of each
species are plotted vertically while they are typically plotted at a 45
degree angle in other programs. Does anyone have any idea of how to rotates
these titles?
Below is an
