help with adding lines to current plot
HI, Dear R community,
I am using the following codes to plot, however, the lines code works. But
the line was not drawn on the previous plot and did not shown up.
How comes?
# specify the data for missense simulation
x <- seq(0,10, by=1)
y <- c(0.952, 0.947, 0.943, 0.941, 0.933, 0.932, 0.939, 0.932, 0.924, 0.918,

How to get prediction for a variable in WinBUGS?
Dear all,I am a new user of WinBUGS and need your help. After running the following code, I got parameters of beta0 through beta4 (stats, density), but I don't know how to get the prediction of the last value of h, the variable I set to NA and want to model it using the following code.Does anyone can given me a hint? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Best

Help_urgent_how to calculate mean and sd in biomod 2
Hello
I am new in R. I am trying to implement Biomod 2 package.
However, I have a doubt. I want to calculate the mean and sd of

ask for help on nonlinear fitting
I have a table like the following. I want to fit Cm to Vm like this:
Cm ~ Cl+Q1*b1*38.67*exp(-b1*(Vm-Vp1)*0.03867)/(1+exp(-b1*(Vm-Vp1)*0.03867))^2+Q2*b2*38.67*exp(-b2*(Vm-Vp2)*0.03867)/(1+exp(-b2*(Vm-Vp2)*0.03867))^2
I use nls, with start=list(Q1=2e-3, b1=1, Vp1=-25, Q2=3e-3, b2=1,
Vp2=200). But I always get 'singlular gradient' error like this. But
in SigmaPlot I can get the result. How

[LLVMdev] llvm-gfortran polyhedron 2005 results [corrected]
The previously posted benchnarks for gcc vs
llvm-gfortran had one mistake. I was actually had
the gfortran for 4.3.1 installed instead of that
from gcc 4.2.4. Below are the polyhedron benchmark

Sadly you failed to set your email program to send plain text and the data is corrupted at my end.
I also think you need to reduce the size of the data set... the intent here is to increase your understanding, not debug your particular analysis.
I will say that I am having a very challenging time understanding what you are trying to accomplish though. What are the equations that you think need

OK, Let's try this again! Here is the reproducible script; it is long because I had to copy the panel dataset here. My question is related to systemfit; I don't know how to get the result for the entire panel.

purrr::pmap does not work
Hi All,
I try to do a scatterplot for a bunch of variables. I plot a dependent
variable against a bunch of independent variables:
-- cut --
graphics::plot(
v01_r01 ~ v08_01_up11,
data = dataset,
xlab = "Dependent",
ylab = "Independent #1"
)
-- cut --
It is tedious to repeat the statement for all independent variables. Found
an alternative, i.e. :

predict.Arima error "'xreg' and 'newxreg' have different numbers of columns"
Hello all,
I use arima to fit the model with
fit <- arima(y, order = c(1,0,1), xreg = list.indep, include.mean = TRUE)
and would like to use predict() to forecast:
chn.forecast <- rep(0,times=num.record)
chn.forecast[1] <- y[1]
for (j in 2:num.record){
indep <- c(aa=chn.forecast[j-1], list.indep[j,2:num.indep]) # this is the newxreg in the

Help_urgent_how to calculate mean and sd in biomod 2
Ol?,
Please keep this in the list, I'm cc-ing r-help at r-project.org. And yes,
I am Portuguese but R-Help is a mailing list in the English language.
As for your new question, I believe that you should start a new thread.
This is completely different from the question on computing mean and sd.
Ask a new question.
Font "arial" is a Microsoft font and as far as I know is not

Dear list,
i'm a new R user, so I apologize if the topic is already being addressed
by some other user.
I'm trying to determine if the reproductive success of a species of bird
is related to a list of covariates.
These are the covariates:
? elev: elevation of nest (meters)
? seadist: distance from the sea (meters)
? meanterranova: records of temperature

Multiple Comparisons-Kruskal-Wallis-Test: kruskal{agricolae} and kruskalmc{pgirmess} don't yield the same results although they should do (?)
Hi there,
I am doing multiple comparisons for data that is not normally distributed.
For this purpose I tried both functions kruskal{agricolae} and
kruskalmc{pgirmess}. It confuses me that these functions do not yield the
same results although they are doing the same thing, don't they? Can anyone
tell my why this happens and which function I can trust?
kruskalmc() tells me that there are no

The proposed solution of Dan's problem posted on R-help was:

When I use this 'solution' I get 'ERROR: second argument must be a list'. So head on wall continues.

Probabilities from survfit.coxph:
Hello:
In the example below (or for a censored data) using survfit.coxph, can
anyone point me to a link or a pdf as to how the probabilities appearing in
bold under "summary(pred$surv)" are calculated? Do these represent
acumulative probability distribution in time (not including censored time)?
Thanks very much,

I have the following matrix. How can I make the following plot?
1. The x-axis has index 1:7, and the first column is plotted against index 1, second against 2, and so on.
2. I want the points from the left upper conner including the antidiagonal to be plotted with col=2, and the rest with col=3

contour lines on levelplot?
With "image" and "contour", one can get both colors and lines to
enhance the image of a contour plot. What's the best way to do this
with Lattice graphics? The following is one ugly hack, producing the
desired result after much trial and error (R 1.9.1 alpha under Windows
2000):
# setup
DF <- expand.grid(x=1:3, y=1:3)
DF$z <- (DF$x+DF$y)
