PA-RISC (hppa) video cards init failure loading the device driver kernel module
Dear Ilia,
this page summarize all the possible options of the "nouveau" kernel module:
https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/KernelModuleParameters/
I will test the options that you have suggested as soon as possible.
Try a PCI video card is a very good advice because the
AGP/FX1(chipset) is on the top of the "usual suspects" list;
unfortunately the c8000 has 3.3 PCI slots

PA-RISC (hppa) video cards init failure loading the device driver kernel module
Dear "nouveau" developers,
I know that many very competent guys have already spent a lot of time
and efforts on this issue without success. I have started to play with
"hppa" two weeks ago and, with the support of the linux-parisc mailing
list people, now I have a - almost fully - working workstation (hp
c8000).
Everythings work perfectly BUT the video card. No matter the

klibc parisc64
I hacked out a rough first implementation of parisc64 for klibc
last month, and only just got around to testing it now.
The good news, it compiled fine on the first shot. The bad news,
it failed to link usr/klibc/libc.so, and I'm not clueful enough
to know why.

PA-RISC (hppa) video cards init failure loading the device driver kernel module
Not sure about the radeon issue, but
"DRM: GPU lockup - switching to software fbcon"
basically means "the CPU isn't able to submit commands, or the GPU
isn't executing the commands". Basically the GPU can only have so many
commands outstanding [well, command buffers], and we hit that limit.

The very same option list, but for the "radeon" kernel module:

Variable Selection for data reduction and discriminant anlaysis
Hello all,
I'm dealing with geochemical analyses of some rocks.
If I use the full composition (31 elements or variables), I can get
reasonable separation of my 6 sources. Then when I go onto do LDA with the
6 groups, I get excellent separation.
I feel like I should be reducing the variables to thos that are providing
the most discrimination between the groups as this is important

extracting from a data.frame
Hi,
I am sorry for this simple question, but... How do I extract something
from a data.frame?
The following is my Problem:
I have got a dataframe "a" with various columns. One of those columns
is called V3 and contains elements of the following levels:

R licensing query
I have recently started a new job at an NHS hospital in Scotland. Since
I took up this post 6 months ago I have had an ongoing dispute with the
IT secutiry dept. who refuse to install R on my computer. I previously
worked in another branch of the NHS where R was widely used and yet
there is nothing I can say which will persuade the IT dept here to even
visit the website! With some help from our

Hi~ helpers.
I was surprised by R data type.
I use to data type like table.
I don't know R allow several data type such as list, number, matrix in the
same matrix.
I want to use plsr in pls package to anlaysis data.
So, I read R help and example of plsr.
that example show me that data as yarn has three colname as NIR, density and
train.
the NIR was 268(No. of col) X 71(No. of row)

changing degrees of freedom in summary.lm()
Hello all,
I'm trying to do a nested linear model with a dataset that incorporates
an observation for each of several classes within each of several plots.
I have 219 plots, and 17 classes within each plot.
data.frame has columns "plot","class","age","dep.var"
With lm(dep.var~class*age),
The summary(lm) function returns t-test and F-test values

metafor: including phylogenetic non-independence among species?
Hello, Is it possible to include information about phylogenetic relatedness
among species (when species are replicates for each study within a
meta-analysis) in a meta-anlaysis in the metafor package?
Alternatively, I wonder if the method f Lajeunesse 2009 American Naturalist
has been adopted in R in any fashion?
Thanks, Scott Chamberlain

I have been put incharge of migrating all of our fileservers to use LDAP

creating a development db from existing db
Hi there,
I would like to copy the schema and data from an existing database and
create a development db with the schema and data.
Is this possible? - I have heard of doing a ''schema dump'', what about a
data dump. The data in the existing db is important - I worry that doing
something could delete the data. Is this fear unfounded?

Hi there,
I''m following the ''Agile Web Development with rails'' book and have got

I entered into the command line:
ruby script/generate controller store index
The book says you should see something when you point to:
http://localhost:3000/store
but all I get is:
Routing Error
