CentOS and EMC PowerPath/Naviagent
Is anyone using CentOS 4.4 with an EMC Clariion SAN?
In particular, I want to know if PowerPath and Naviagent will work on a
CentOS 4 system connected to a san using Qlogic or Emulex cards. I tried
a couple years ago with Fedora Core 1 or 2, and couldn't get the kernel
modules from PowerPath to work since the kernel wasn't the official RHEL
one.

CentOS 5 - Booting halts when loading UHCI
I have CentOS 5 installed on a Compaq Evo. I don't know the exact Evo
model. When I first installed it, booted up fine. Now, when it boots, it
freezes when it loads the UHCI kernel module. Here's what I see:

Loading uhci-hcd.ko module.

php5 rpm to be installed in parallel with php4?
Hi,
I'm looking for a php5 rpm which I can install in parallel with php4. Therefore,
the centosplus rpm is (AFAIK) not usable for me as it replaces php4.
Does centos provide an php5 rpm which does not touch my php4? Is there a
matching srpm on web?
Sorry, if this question is a FAQ. Thanks for your help :)

php4/php5
Hey Guys,
I need to run PHP4/PHP5 from the same physical server.
I have apache + php5 currently.
Im thinking of creating a new apache and php4 from srpms and installing
It all in say /opt/apache_php4 and then running it from its own IP since
The server has two external IP addresses available.
Just wondering if anybody here has needed to do the same in the past and
what did you do to achieve

best way to upgrade php4 -> php5 on CentOS?
What is the best way to upgrade PHP4 to PHP5 on CentOS? I see from "rpm -qa"
that I'm running PHP-4.3.9.
Should I uninstall this old PHP4 package and then reinstall PHP5? Or is
there some cool yum upgrade thing I might run?
This is a VMware virtual box for testing, so I'm more concerned about
learning what to do, rather than interrupting anything.

fcgi/suexec problem
I have a number of vhosts configured with SuexecUserGroup
to run the scripts with limited privileges and the dept. web-site on one
of them. The problem is the webmaster can't read online context help
which comes with the cms the site is using. Most help files (>2K) have
*.php.html extension. *.php and *.html scripts both work as I suspect
they should, but when it comes to *.php.html suexec

running php4 and php5 parallel
Is it possible to run php4 and php5 parallel in Centos4 somehow? If
the parallel php5 could be installed from rpm also that would be great
also.

PHP5 questions
If I install PHP5 from centosplus it will replace PHP4, is this correct?
Or is there a way to have it installed in parallel? I know I can't run
both modules at the same time, but I'd prefer having them installed in
parallel, so I can switch back/between easier.
When I try updating I get a dependency warning from php-eaccelerator (from
dag repo) - can I ignore that? Searching thru my

SMP kernels and top output
Hi, everyone. I'm new to the list. This question may have come up
before, but I couldn't find an answer to it by searching the centos
website. Could be I was using bad keywords for my search.
I have 3 HP xw9300 workstations (dual AMD Opteron 64-bit processors)
that I'm upgrading from RHEL3WS to CentOS 4.4. I've upgraded two
already, with one left to go. On the system with

CDR Reporting
Hi all,
I'm looking for a reporting solution for Asterisk CDRs. I have a
small Asterisk server that will eventually have 4 - 6 trunks. the
system is up and the CDRs are being written to a MySQL DB. I tried
installing Areski, but had no success .. I assume it's no longer
supported... the last update was in March 2005 according to this page..

Switch to Nvidia from ATI
I am having some issues (e.g. System lock ups) with my
ATI 9250 Video card.
I am thinging about replacing it with either a Nvidia
FX5200, FX5500, or a FX5600 card.
Is anyone using one of these cards on Centos 4.1 with
the stock (XORG) nv driver?

I just installed EMC PowerPath 5.0.0 and Navisphere Agent and CLI on a
CentOS 4.4/x86_64 system. When I try to start naviagent, I get the error
below. Before upgrading to CentOS4.4, this same system had RHEL3 ES for
x86_64 on it, and the same problem was encountered. I spent weeks going
back and forth with EMC tech support, but the problem was never
resolved. I'm hoping someone here on this

PHP / XapianQueryParser
Hi everyone,
I tried sending a message as a reply a while back on my previous topic, but it didn't go through. (Tried Gmane), not even when I 'authorized' the reply. So I'll just paste it here for reference, below this message. It might help some people. But now I have one other small problem, and I'm not sure if it is actually my mistake (although I'm pretty sure it is

XFS for CentOS 2.6.9-42.0.8 [ was: issue - no keyboard after reboot]
Okay, so far so good - and many thanks to all who jumped in on this one.
Now, we would like to look into making some changes in XFS, but I didn't
see a SRPM for the kernel-module-xfs for 42.0.8 - the most recent one is
for 42.0.3.
Is this usable, or is there somewhere (else?) I can get the SRPM for the
42.0.8 XFS?
Thanks.

php4 under Centos6
Hello, is there any way of getting php4 installed on Centos6? I'd like
to install it in an apache/fastcgi environment.
Has anybody got a link to a description/howto describing a clean install?
I failed compiling the original php4 tar ball and failed relocating the
php binary.
Thanks in advance

eAccelerator RPM for php5
Does anybody know where I can find an RPM of eAccelerator for the php
5.0.4-5 in CentOS Plus REPO? RPMFORGE has an eAccelerator rpm, but for
php4.
If not, is there an easy/better way to provide php speed up with
php5.0.4-5? If not, would it be possible for a rookie, like me, to
build an RPM from source? I might take a run at that as a last resort?
Any simple howto links would be
