Is the output of survfit.coxph survival or baseline survival?
Dear all,
I am confused with the output of survfit.coxph.
Someone said that the survival given by summary(survfit.coxph) is the
baseline survival S_0, but some said that is the survival S=S_0^exp{beta*x}.
Which one is correct?
By the way, if I use "newdata=" in the survfit, does that mean the survival
is estimated by the value of covariates in the new data frame?

Fitting and plotting a coxph with survfit, package(surv)
Hi Dear R-users
I have a database with 18000 observations and 20 variables. I am running
cox regression on five variables and trying to use survfit to plot the
survival based on a specific variable without success.
Lets say I have the following coxph:

Probabilities from survfit.coxph:
Hello:
In the example below (or for a censored data) using survfit.coxph, can
anyone point me to a link or a pdf as to how the probabilities appearing in
bold under "summary(pred$surv)" are calculated? Do these represent
acumulative probability distribution in time (not including censored time)?

simple save question
Hi,
When I run the survfit function, I want to get the restricted mean
value and the standard error also. I found out using the "print"
function to do so, as shown below,
print(km.fit,print.rmean=TRUE)

Possible bug in summary.survfit - 'scale' argument ignored?

survival survfit with newdata
Dear all,
I am confused with the behaviour of survfit with newdata option.
I am using the latest version R-2-15-0. In the simple example below I am building a coxph model on 90 patients and trying to predict 10 patients. Unfortunately the survival curve at the end is for 90 patients. Could somebody please from the survival package confirm that this behaviour is as expected or not - because I

Question on survival
Hi,
I'm going crazy trying to plot a quite simple graph.
i need to plot estimated hazard rate from a cox model.
supposing the model i like this:
coxPhMod=coxph(Surv(TIME, EV) ~ AGE+A+B+strata(C) data=data)
with 4 level for C.
how can i obtain a graph with 4 estimated (better smoothed) hazard curve
(base-line hazard + 3 proportional) to highlight the effect of C.

Slow survfit -- is there a faster alternative?
Using R 2.10 on Windows:
I have a filtered database of 650k event observations in a data frame
with 20+ variables.
I'd like to be able to quickly generate estimate and plot survival
curves. However the survfit and cph() functions are extremely slow.
As an example: I tried

I am confused when trying the function survfit.
my question is: what does the survival curve given by plot.survfit mean?
is it the survival curve with different covariates at different points?
or just the baseline survival curve?

Function call error in cph/survest (package Design)
Dear UseR,
I do not know if this a problem with me, my data or cph/survest in package
design. The example below works with a standard data set, but not with my
data, but I cannot locate the problem.
Note that I am using an older package of survival to avoid a problem with
the newly renamed function in survival meeting Design.

The survival rate at a certain time
Hello there,
I am doing analysis on survival data. How do I pick out a probability of
survival at a chosen landmark time(for example, 3 years, 4 years) from
the result of "survfit"? or any other functions? As I know, the result
of 'survfit' only have the probabilities for all event or cencor time.

Colors in survival plots
Hi,
Sorry to trouble the list - I would like to ask a question - I can't
find the answer in the r-help archives.
I am trying to plot 2 survival curves in different colors.
What I have tried is this
plot(survfit(sim.surv ~ sim.km.smpl),col="red")
but both the survival curves turn red...

Capture warning messages from coxph()
Hi,
I want to fit multiple cox models using the coxph() function. To do
this, I use a for-loop and save the relevant results in a separate
matrix. In the example below, only two models are fitted (my actual
matrix has many more columns), one gives a warning message, while the
other does not. Right now, I see all the warning message(s) after the
for-loop is completed but have no idea which model

[newbie] Cox Baseline Hazard
