NaN, ncdf
Dear All,
Can anyone please let me know how exactly ncdf deals with NaN.
I am trying to pass in a vector of data that has some NaN in it, into a variable in NetCDF.
dimX <- dim.def.ncdf("X","count",(1:6))
dimY <- dim.def.ncdf("Y","count",(1:3))

netCDF to TIFF
Greetings R users!
I am working with the ENSEMBLE climate data (10 min resolution daily
temperatures images for all of Europe 1950-2006). The data comes
packaged in a single netCDF file. I would like to read the data in and
export a subset (2002-2006) as geotiffs (one image per day). So far, I
can successfully read in the data and view the images within an R
display window. However, I have yet to

translating IDL to R
I would appreciate
* guidance regarding translation of IDL routines to R, generally
* assistance translating two IDL routines to R, specifically
Why I ask:
I'm slowly learning how to do atmospheric modeling. One language that
has been been popular in this space is IDL

Unexpected values obtained when reading in data using ncdf and ncdf4
Dear R Users,
I am encountering a problem when reading nc files into R using the ncdf and ncdf4 libraries. The nc files are too large to attach an example (but if someone is interested in helping out I could send a file privately via an online drive), but the code is basic:
for(i in 1:length(thesenames[,1])){
data <- nc_open(paste(INDIR, thesenames[i,c("wholename")],

File Column woes
I followed this guide
http://www.fearoffish.co.uk/blog/article/file_column_and_lightbox to

the page where I can upload a new file, I get a NoMethodError for

I am so confused. It''s fallen apart and I havent even tried using

Through your help an R related installation issue was resolved, but I now

On any "get.var.ncdf" usage I am seeing:

The same error is posted on a file as small as 50MB and as large as 500GB,

file_column error: StringIO Instead of Temp_File
Hi all,
i am using file_column to upload 3 images from the same form, they are
all different names and DOM IDs so there isn''t a problem with the
multiple upload.
The problem is when i try to upload a file (or 2, or 3) sometimes it
works, but sometimes i get this in the log file:

Extract a predictors form constparty object (CHAID output) in R
I have a large dataset (questionnaire results) of mostly categorical
variables. I have tested for dependency between the variables using
chi-square test. There are an incomprehensible number of dependencies.
I used the chaid() function in the CHAID package to detect
interactions and separate out (what I hope to be) the underlying
structure of these dependencies for each variable. What typically

stepwise variable selection method wanted
Hi List,
I am looking for a variable selection procedure with a forward-backward selection method.
Firstly, it is meant to work with the cophenetic
correlation coefficient (CPCC) and intended to find the variable combination with the
highest cophenetic correlation. Secondly, it is aimed at Gower metric with
wards method (though this could be easily extended) aimed at categorical data.

Happy 1999!
I've been celebrating the holidays by (finally) getting to the port of our
S+ NetCDF routines to R, which I'm trying to make into a library. At the
moment, there are two issues I'd appreciate advice on:
1. Is support for mode "single" data planned anytime soon in R? A lot of
our NetCDF files contain "single" data and having to coerce into

Incorporate a shapefile with an package animation
Hello
I'm working with NetCDF files in an animation and am trying to superimpose
a shapefile on the image as it is generates the html pages.
If I take out the lines for the shapefile, it works correctly, however I'm
having difficultly including the shapefile.
If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

[LLVMdev] MergeFunctions: reduce complexity to O(log(N))
Hi Stepan,
Sorry for the delay. It's great that you are working on MergeFunctions
as well and I agree, we should definitely try to combine our efforts to
improve MergeFunctions.
Just to give you some context, the pass (with the similar function
merging patch) is already being used in a production setting. From my
point of view, it would be better if we focus on improving its
capability
