Dear R users, I am trying to draw error bars in a bar plot, I use this code (tried many others which did not work): install.packages() library(gplots) y <-c(39.02, 46.42) se <- c(7.57,7.35) plot <- barplot(y, beside=TRUE, col=0, ylim=c(0,47), axis.lty=1, main="far-red", xlab="latitude", names.arg=c("56N", "68N")) superpose.eb(plot, y, se,

ggpliot2: reordering of factors in facets facet.grid(). Reordering of factor on x-axis no problem.
Hi everyone (again), before you all start screaming that the reordering of factors has been discusse on several threads and is not particular to ggplot2, hear me out. I can easily reorder my x-axis factor in facet.grid() in ggplot2. What I cannot reorder are the factors represented on the strips. I can see that the graphs are changing, so I am afraid of what it is I am doing. Why is ggplot2

Ggplot2: Moving legend, change fill and removal of space between plots when using grid.arrange() possible use of facet_grid?
Hi, # For publications, I am not allowed to repeat the axes. I have tried to remove the axes using: # yaxt="n", but it did not work. I have not understood how to do this in ggplot2. Can you help me? # I also do not want loads of space between the graphs (see below script with Dummy Data). # If I could make it look like the examples on the (nice) examples page: #

point size
Hi all; I am running the following ggplot codes. Runs well. However, I need to reflect the numeric values of the log10_P to the point size in the graph. Your help highly appreciated, Regards, Greg p <- ggplot(mydata, aes(x = X, y = log10_P)) + theme_bw() +theme(panel.border=element_blank()) + theme(legend.position="top", axis.text=element_text(size = 8)) (p1 <- p +

lattice to ggplot2 conversion help
Hi, I am interested in ggplot2 and I found this lattice code very interesting (http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/graphcode.php?graph=48). Code: library(lattice) lattice.options(default.theme = canonical.theme(color = FALSE)) tmp <- expand.grid(geology = c("Sand","Clay","Silt","Rock"), species = c("ArisDiff",

How to create separate legend for each plot in the function of facet_wrap in ggplot2?
Hi R users, I need to create more than 20 figures (one for each group) in one page. I have a common legend for 20 figures using the facet_wrap. However the range of the values among the groups are very wide. For example one group has the value of 0 to 3, but the values of some of the groups has ranged from 0 to 20 so that when I used a single common legend for all 20 figures, I could not display

point size
You could add size = log10_P to the aes() inside geom_point(). Untested code below. See also http://ggplot2.tidyverse.org/reference/geom_point.html ggplot(mydata, aes(x = X, y = log10_P)) + theme_bw() + theme(panel.border=element_blank(), legend.position="top", axis.text=element_text(size = 8)) + geom_point(aes(color = Traits, size = log10_P)) Jean On Fri, Jun 16, 2017 at

ggplot2: Controlling line width of panel borders
Dear R-users, i encountered some problems when trying to adjust the line width of the axes and stripes in a plot created with ggplot2. I use the "barley" dataset of the lattice package to illustrate my problem: library(ggplot2) library(lattice) barley[["SD"]] <- 5 limits <- aes(ymax=barley$yield + barley$SD,ymin=barley$yield - barley$SD) p1 <-

How can I make the legend in ggplot2 the same height as my plot?
Hi R Users, I tried to increase the legend height in ggplot2, but it did not respond at all using the follwoing code. Do you have any suggestions for me? dat<-data.frame(temperature) P1<-ggplot(dat, aes(X, Y)) Scenario1<-P1+geom_point(aes(colour = value), size = 1)+ theme_bw()+ theme(axis.text.x = element_blank(),axis.text.y = element_blank())

nesting scale_manual caracteristics in ggplot
Hi there, I am having a little problem with combining three scale_manual commands in a facet plot. I am not able to combine the three different characteristics, instead ending up with three different descriptions next to the graph for the same geom. I would like to see two separate labels (not three); one describing lines 1-7 and the other 8-14. For each of the treatments (A-B) I want a

Insert segment only on particular facets in ggplot
Dear R users, I am working on a data-set with 3 species. They are apple, orange and banana. I want to annotate the facets only on the bottom panel. However, by default I am getting annotations on all the plots. I was able to get text annotation only on the desired plot. However, I am confused what I need to do for the arrows / segments. Here is my code: library(ggplot2) library(grid) tempobs

ggplot2 reorder factors for faceting
Dear List I am trying to draw a heatmap using ggplot2. In this heatmap I have faceted my data by 'infection' of which I have four. These four infections break down into two types and I would like to reorder the 'infection' column of my data to reflect this. Toy example below: library(ggplot2) # test data for ggplot reordering genes <- (rep (c(rep('a',4),

superpose.polygon, panel.polygon and their colors
Dear R-helpers, the problem I'm facing today is to convince lattice to paint some areas in gray. The areas I would like to have in gray, are confidence bands I've googled around in the mailing list archives and eventually find some clues. This link is my starting point http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/e2/help/07/04/15595.html I'm reproducing here the code for your convenience est

about multi-optimal points
Hi R users, I have some sets of variables and put them into one dataframe, like in the following. How to choose a specific set of pareto front, such as 10 from the current datasets (which contains more than 100 sets)? And how to show the 10 points on one figure with different colors? I can put all the points on one figure though, and have the code below. I drew two ggplots to show their

a issue about the qutation mark?
Following is a function that I wrote (It is working well). It's a simple one, nothing complicated. The only question that I have is a qutation mark issue, I guess. ############################################# funcname <- function(trait.file){ #line1 setwd('/root/subroot') # line 2 load('imge.RData')
