Problem with linux-2.6.18-xen.hg with xen 3.3.0
Hi
I have a problem with mercurail repository (with compiling source tree of
xen 3.3.0):
Trying to "make world" command (first time) I obtain the following:
select-repository: Searching `.:..'' for linux-2.6.18-xen.hg
select-repository: Ignoring `.''
Unable to determine path to Linux source tree.
Falling back to linux-2.6.18-xen Mercurial repository.

[LLVMdev] git Status
Did the project ever come to a decision about making a transition to
git? I'm trying to do some longer-term planning and it would be helpful
to know what the roadmap is.
Thanks!

Mclapply and print statement
Dear all.
I am using the mclapply function to split my code to the many cores my system has. It seems that is working fine. This is the parallel version of lcapply.
The only problem that I seem to have is that the printf cannot print messages.
The ideal to me is to have fro my function an output of the form
Shadowlist<-mclapply(1:dimz, function(i) {
print(sprintf('Creating the

Comparing execution times
Dear all,
In my 'simple' computer I was running some experiments to help me understand how faster a multicore lapply will be. I thought it might be interesting for some people to look at the results.
Even though are not accurate, still might be a good indicator how much improvement there can be.
A.Case. The classic: for 1:100
for (i in c(1:dimz)){

How to program with colleagues
Dear all,
my colleagues and I have to write some R code for some of our projects.
I would like to ask you help to organize us a little.
a. Do you know if there is any system that can convert our R scripts to html pages with some nice dependency graphs (which functions calls which).
b. Could you please suggest me an easy way to exchange the R code with my colleagues. I know about these version

[LLVMdev] moving to svn?
Just wondering: Is there any plan to move to svn? I would love to have
a diff command that works when I am offline :-)
Best Regards,

Its been discussed from time to time. I would like to see this as well,
but for an additional reasons: simpler branch management and faster
updates, etc. SVN handles directories better and merging head

For->lapply->parallel apply
Dear all,
I would like to ask your help understand the subsequent steps for making my program faster.
The following code:
Gauslist<-array(data=NA,dim=c(dimx,dimy,dimz))
for (i in c(1:dimz)){
print(sprintf('Creating the %d map',i));
Gauslist[,,i]<-f <- GaussRF(x=x, y=y, model=model, grid=TRUE,param=c(mean,variance,nugget,scale,Whit.alpha))
}
creates 100 GaussMaps (each

"revision control software" for managing R-code?
Does anyone use "revision control software" to manage their R-code?
Any suggestions?
Ideally, I'm looking for a, effective yet easy to implement/maintain package.

RE: Moving to Git
Since you asked for comments...
Personally, I'm disappointed to see Speex moving to Git from Subversion.
I had just recently learned how easy it is to track progress of Speex
using TortoiseSvn.
That being said, I'm sure Jean-Marc knows best what the issues may be.
How many people are expected to commit on this project this year?

Reducing the FPR (false positive rate)
Hello R-USERS,
I think some people didn't understand my question. What I want is to
use the training set to minimize the FALSE POSITIVE RATE.
I think it is possible. I sacrifice ACCURACY to have less FALSE
POSITIVES. I don't want a classifier result with 5% of FPR and, for
example, 93% of ACCURACY. I want a 1% FPR sacrificing the 93% ACCURACY.
Do you know how can I do this? I really

CVS to Mercurial switch
I've been meaning to switch away from CVS for a few years now, but I was
never sure what I wanted to switch to, so I kept delaying it. I finally
decided yesterday that Mercurial is pretty nice.
The Mercurial repository is available from http://hg.dovecot.org/ (has a
nice web interface). I wrote a small Mercurial mini-howto below. I'm not
a Mercurial expert yet, so if you know better ways

dovecot 2.0.2 compile issues on Solaris 10u8 Sparc
I am having compile problems with Dovecot v2.0.2 on a well patched
Solaris 10u8 Sparc system using the included gcc compiler.
Version 2.0.0 compiled with out any issues using the same configure
syntax. My ./configure syntax looks like this:
./configure --with-ssl=openssl --with-shadow
Yahoo and Google searches turned up nothing for me.
