Question about centosplus kernel and jfs...
Hello
I run the latest kernel from centosplus and use a JFS partition.
Even though the jfs tools are installed, when the server crashes, it
doesn't run fsck.jfs automatically when at boot time it detects that
the partition is corrupted
I have to run fsck.jfs manually and mount the drive.
Is there a way to make fsck.jfs run automatically if required ? (I

5.1 - kernel-2.6.18-53.el5.centos.plus.i686.rpm: [Errno -1] Package does not match intended download
Thank you for the great CentOS.
When trying to update from 5.0 to 5.1, I get an error regarding the
centos.plus kernel and headers, "[Errno -1] Package does not match
intended download".
What'd I do?
The end of the yum update results below:

JFS in CentOS
Hello all,
I'm relatively new to CentOS, but I've been using linux as my main
operating system on both the desktop and server ends for the past 4 years.
I currently have a PIII server with two 160GB IDE hard drives in it, in
a virtual RAID 1 array. At the time of installation, the only FS choices
for the largest partition, 120GB, were ext2 and ext3. I chose ext3, but

XFS or JFS on CentOS 5?
Hi folks... trying to pick between jfs and xfs for a filesystem. In
the past we've used jfs with CentOS + centosplus, however, an older
post indicated that this may not be the best choice as the version of
jfs included with the centosplus kernel would only be as new as the
version that was included in the 2.6.18 kernel as RH doesn't backport
fixes...
It looks like xfs isn't part of

Unsupported Kernel for X86_64 and i386
All,
There have been many requests for added kernel features that the
upstream provider left out of the standard kernel. (ReiserFS,
Video4Linux, Firewire support, XFS, NTFS, JFS, etc.).
We want the main release CDs to contain a standard kernel for
compatibility and stability reasons. CentOS is created as a clone, and
it needs to be as close as possible to the upstream distro.
That being said,

jfs directory modification times in centosplus
(This is a copy of an email I've sent to the jfs-discussion list. I'm
copying here in the hope that I'll get help from somewhere...)
I'm running Centos 4.2 with kernel-2.6.9-22.0.2.106.unsupported and
jfsutils-1.1.10-3.2 from the centosplus distribution, with a jfs
partition for my maildir mail spool, accessed using the dovecot IMAP
server. It seems that dovecot doesn't

workaround using CentOS Plus Kernel? -- for 7.4 does not support PV [Xen]
Relates to: https://prgmr.com/blog/2017/09/14/centos-7-pv-unsupported.html
I'm considering switching to the **CentOS Plus Kernel**. What are the downsides?
In the link above, will the CentOS Plus Kernel get upgraded or will it be locked
at a specific kernel?

CentosPlus Kernel coward
I strongly suspect that going to the CentosPlus Kernel would be good for
my notebook:
Not having NTFS support is making moving files from my XP drive to my
Linux drive a pain.
Suspend is not working. Rather I suspend and never get out of it!
My notebook has an internal SD reader that is not recognized. I notice
on boot a message that:
ide2: I/O resource 0x3EE-0x3EE not free.

Recent CentOS4 kernel updates and CentOS Plus
If it wouldn't be too much trouble ... when a kernel security update
notice is posted to the announcements list, would it be possible to
indicate whether the centosplus kernel is also susceptible to the
security issue being patched?
I'm running the plus kernel now, and find myself wondering whether I
will ever need to back off to the base kernel because of security
issues.
Or is it

CentOS Plus PHP5 upgrade.
Hi Folks,
I have some users who have a 64-bit CentOS 4.x install (current),
which was installed with @Everything and then some annoying packages
strategically removed (mrtg, pegasus*, mailman...) and they have
decided they have a need for php5.
I find on the web this instruction for doing this:
http://www.centos.org/centos/4/centosplus/Readme.txt
So I try to do this, and I get:

JFS for CentOS 7
I had installed kmod-jfs in an earlier version of CentOS 7, 7.4 if I remember correctly. I now have a machine running the latest version of jfs module but kmod-jfs does not seem to be available.
Is anyone running it on the current version of CentOS?
