using a package function inside another function
Hello all, I am trying to use the micEcon 'insertRow' function inside a function I have written. For example: insert_row_test <- function(m){ insertRow(m,nrow(m)+1,v=0,rName="test") } However, when I try to call the 'insert_row_test' function (after loading the micEcon package), it does not insert a row into the matrix I pass in. When I call the insertRow

Predicting with a principal component regression model: "non-conformable arguments" error
Hello all, I have generated a principal components regression model using the pcr() function from the PLS package (R version 2.12.0). I am getting a "non-conformable arguments" error when I try to use the predict() function on new data, but only when I try to read in the new data from a separate file. More specifically, when my data looks like this #########training data

simulating a VARXls model using dse
Hello, Using the dse package I have estimated a VAR model using estVARXls(). I can perform forecasts using forecast() with no problems, but when I try to use simulate() with the same model, I get the following error: Error in diag(Cov, p) : 'nrow' or 'ncol' cannot be specified when 'x' is a matrix Can anyone shed some light on the meaning of this error? How can I

nomianl response model
Is there a way to estimate a nominal response model? To be more specific let's say I want to calibrate: \pi_{v}(\theta_j)=\frac{e^{\xi_{v}+\lambda_{v}\theta_j}}{\sum_{h=1}^m e^{\xi_{h}+\lambda_{h}\theta_j}} Where $\theta_j$ is a the dependent variable and I need to estimate $\xi_{h}$ and $\lambda_{h}$ for $h \in {1...,m}$. saving a regression model to a file
Hello all, First off, I am using R version 2.13.0 in Ubuntu. I have read previous posts in the R mailing list on saving models for later use, and the responses indicate using the R save() function to save a model and then using load() to load it is one way to go. However, when I use the save() function to save a model to a file, and then try to load it using load(), the loaded "model"

DCE in the presence of control flow.
I had assumed you would treat phi nodes differently from other operations in that they don’t need to keep the block alive just to retain the data flow facts but it would be simplest to do that. colour of label points on a boxplot
Hi all, I have 6 datasets(dataframes Assem_ContigsLen7 through all_ContigsLen12) containing 3 columns (contig_id, contig_length, read_count). Each dataset is composed of 3 types of contigs (assemblies of genomic fragments), 1- all Bacterial fragments, 2 - all Viral fragments, 3 - mixed fragments. I identified the type of contig through a merge with another table with just contig_id and

finding most highly transcribed genes - ranking, sorting and subsets?
Hello, I am not only interested in finding out which genes are the most highly up- or down-regulated (which I have done using the linear models and Bayesian statistics in Limma), but I also want to know which genes are consistently highly transcribed (ie. they have a high intensity in the channel of interest eg. Cy5 or Cy3 across the set of experiments). I might have missed a straight forward

Getting /etc/mongrel_cluster and startup script to work?
Hi, I''m trying to setup my mongrel clusters to start on boot. I have followed the instructions under the "On Boot Initialization Setup" section at http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/docs/mongrel_cluster.html. When I try to start it up, I get the following error: me at mybox.com: sudo /etc/init.d/mongrel_cluster start Starting all mongrel_clusters... !!! Path to log file not

DCE in the presence of control flow.
I think you can also avoid the RDF computation using a more directed form of control dependence testing such as described in Keshav Pingali and Gianfranco Bilardi. 1997. Optimal control dependence computation and the Roman chariots problem. ACM Trans. Program. Lang. Syst. 19, 3 (May 1997), 462-491. Polynomial Fitting
Hello All, This might seem elementary to everyone, but please bear with me. I've just spent some time fitting poly functions to time series data in R using lm() and predict(). I want to analyze the functions once I've fit them to the various data I'm studying. However, after pulling the first function into Octave (just by plotting the polynomial function using fplot() over

LTO on libraries
Thanks for the response. To clarify in your suggestion, llvm-link will combine the modules but not run the optimization pass, that is still delayed until the final binary is built, correct? My use case is apply LTO to roughly program subsets; sacrificing effectiveness to avoid scaling problems and to allow the artifacts to be reused like archives and cached like .o’s. I need to trigger the

#asset_url helper method
Just putting this out there before I make a pull request. Is there any interest in an asset_url method as a view helper? It would work by using the config.action_controller.asset_host if it exists and prepending this to the results of asset_path. I have found this necessary when writing html emails and needing a full url path for assets. Since my CDN in the asset_host mirrors my assets in my

Maybe I was too quick here. Does gcc record the incoming edge to a phi? If so, won’t those change when you delete blocks in a non-trivial manner? How are those updated?
