odbcConnectExcel() fails to fetch all columns
Folks,
Is there a parameter somewhere in RODBC that enables more columns to be
retrieved from an Excel worksheet?
# This next bit uses an undocumented call in RODBC
z <- odbcConnectExcel("./BBaselinePtQaires_apr2011.xls")
BQ <- sqlFetch(z, "BBaselinePtQaires")
Gives me:
z RODBC[1]
And
BQ 134 obs. of 59 variables
I have all the rows in the worksheet but only the

Changing Y Axis of Plot
Hello,
I have used plot function to graph two variables and would like to change
the Y axis labels to % format. So a 0.2 on Y Axis needs to be represented as
20%. I tried to use the following but am getting a syntax error. could you
point me to the mistake in this?
axis(2, at=z, labels=format(z,”%”), col.axis = "blue", cex.axis=0.7)

Trouble with Excel table connection
Hello,
I've been using odbcConnectExcel to connect to a spreadsheet database
containing a single worksheet. Unfortunately when I try to access the
data R cannot see the table. When I run sqlTables it shows the worksheet
as a SYSTEM TABLE instead of as a TABLE that I can access. I am fairly
certain that I am do all of the same things I've done in the past when
it worked just fine.

Excel *.xls files, RODBC
I gather from reading the back-issues of r-help that it should be
possible (modulo a number of caveats) to read an excel (yuck!) file
into R using RODBC. I have obtained and installed ODBC and the RODBC
package, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to go about
it. Can anyone give me a simple recipe?
I have an excel file on cdrom, say:
/mnt/cdrom/melvin.xls
I have started R and loaded

Import range of cells from Excel
Dear all,
I would like to import a range of cells (e.g. F10:K234) from an Excel
worksheet to R. I have looked for documentation on RODBC and RDCOMClient but
I was not able to find enough information to solve my problem and all the
examples I have seen were dealing with an entire worksheet, not a range of
cells.
Thanks,

Error on reading an excel file
Hello everybody, here is the code I use to read an excel file containing two
rows, one of date, the other of prices:
library(RODBC)
z <- odbcConnectExcel("SPX_HistoricalData.xls")
datas <- sqlFetch(z,"Sheet1")
close(z)
It works pretty well but the only thing is that the datas stop at row 7530
and I don?t know why datas is a data frame that contains 7531 rows with the

Excel to R
I have Excel files containing data that I would like to move to R.
They are in the standard form of a one row header followed by
rows of data, one record per row EXCEPT that there are a few
rows of comments before the header. The number of rows of comments
varies. For Excel files of this form without comments I have had
success with:

RODBC bug or doc error in sqlFetch on xls files (PR#7354)
R 2.0.0 patched under win2000. MS Office Excel 2003. ODBC Drivers?
This may not come as a surprise -- sqlFetch() (and perhaps other ?) appear
not to handle table/worksheet names with spaces in them in Excel tables. I
was not able to find documentation that specifically mentioned this,
although the Help pages vaguely hinted that there might be difficulty with
Excel's "peculiar

newline with cell of Excel worksheet created with write.xls
As part of my project to put different types of results into worksheets,
I would like to be able to put an auto-generated methods section. If I
compose in RWinEdt, read into R, and use write.table with a .txt file
extension, what I get out has line-breaks that correspond to those I put
in in the first place.
If I do the same thing but write.xls with .xls extention, I get an Excel

RCOM Package
Hi list,
I just installed the rcom package and tried to read/give out some values
from/to Excel. Altogether it works great... but nevertheless I don't know
how the syntax works or in other words: "Which command needs which
parameters?"
Is there somwhere a manual about this package with good examples? I've read
the Package description... but there are not really good

Read in from multiple Excel wksheets
I?ve got an Excel workbook with about 30 worksheets. Each worksheet
has 10000 rows of data over 30 columns.
I?d like to read the data from each worksheet into a dataframe or
matrix in R for processing. Normally, I use read.csv when interacting
with Excel but I?d rather manipulate a multisheet workbook directly
than set about splitting the original workbook and saving down each
part as a csv.

mrtg 2.16.2 ipv6 on centos 6
Hi,
i'm running CentOS 6.0 on my server and installed mrtg from the
rpm-package mrtg-2.16.2 .
I also installed the depending packages perl-IO-Socket-INET6
perl-Socket6 ....
mrtg works fine with IPV4-Addresses. When i specify a Target by
IPV6-Address (or hostname resolving to a V6-address) mrtg fails.
Here i have a small sample-config for V4 which is working:

Hello,
I have an excel file that I load through RODBC. Some of my columns are
blank. They are equity time series and the stocks did not exist at the
earlier dates. My problem is that the whole column becomes <NA> even though
there are numbers at later dates.

What does gluster do when it's idle?
Hi,
There's no client activity and I have collected tcpdump for 5 mins on one
of the glusterFs sever which is also a client with gluster NFS mount. From
tcpdump I see that for every few seconds, STAT & STATFS commands are run.
For whichctory are these commands being run and why?

Can I delete a function argument and its corresponding code from a file
I have a following sample function in a file which contains only function
definitions like this.
void mul(int x, int y, int& out, *int* arr*) {
* arr[0] = 2;*
* arr[1] = 1;*
out = x * y;
}
I want to convert it to
void mul(int x, int y, int& out) {
out = x * y;
}
file contains only above function definitions.
