Sorry, should've mentioned this is for home/home office. The ReadyNAS is a four-bay unit, with 500GB disks. Will want a four-bay, probably with 1- or 2-TB disks. -- Tim Evans | 5 Chestnut Court UNIX System Admin

Thinderbird+delete+move to Trash folder
hi All, I have a problem, which makes me headache. I can't find out, what is the problem. I have a mail szerver, which works just fine as expected, TB move messages to trash folder after I delete it, and they are moved. I have an other server. If I delete a message, it doesn't move to the Trash folder. As deleted_to_trash plugin is installed, if I only mark messages as deleted, they

Measures of agreement
Greetings. I've been experimenting with some algorithms for document classification (specifically, a Naive Bayes classifier and a kNN classifier) and I would now like to calculate some inter-rater reliability scores. I have the data in a PostgreSQL database, such that for each document, each measure (there are 9) has three variables: ap_(measure), nb_(measure), and knn_(measure). ap is me

EL4 and spamassassin info
greetings, have been google foo for week or so. used to be super easy to upgrade spamassassin on CentOS dist. just grab the tarball and put in right spot and rpmbuild -tb spamassassin-3.somethingsomething.tar.gz then rpm or yum install and done would take just a few minutes. Yet... in regards to EL4 / CentOS 4 and spamassassin, it appears the end of the road for .spec in SA tarball

R and windows server memory limit
I am running R 2.10.1 on Windows Server 03 in an effort to increase my memory limit. The memory limit on my machine is 4 gb and 8 gb on our server. However, when I run R within the server and try to increase my memory R still says I am limited to 4 gb. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance for the help, Luke McEachron ____________________________________________ Luke McEachron Assistant Research

Need a bit of help with the antispam plugin
Hello Everyone, I'm running the antispam plugin on Dovecot 2.0.19 on Ubuntu Server 14.04 and I can't seem to get it to work. Centos as a file storage/backup destination (Advice)
Hello all, am considering setting up centos as a file storage/ backup destination for Mac's TimeMachine. all my users would get synced directly to specific folders on this machine.. needless to say space is of importance. where every user has an average 200 GB of data to b synced (entire system)... I have 27 users hence 27 *200 equals to almost 6 TB so I was considering getting either 4 *

Invoking the spam checker on the sieve script
Hi. TL/DR version: Is it advisable to invoke an spam checker from the sieve script, and then, once the message is filtered, decide if should be moved to a certain spam folder? A bit more context on why I'm considering this: I'm just a geek who wants to handle his own mail, but not a great experience as a system administrator. I don't have any corporate setup, just a simple VPS

Dovecot2 Antispam MAILTRAIN backend with SpamAssassin
Hi there, I've already asked this question on FreeBSD forums without getting any response. So, I thought it's a good idea to ask it again here. I've setup Dovecote2 (2.2.13) + Postfix + SpamAssassin on my FreeBSD 10 VPS and it works flawlessly. Though, I couldn't setup the Dovecot Antispam plugin to train SpamAssassin when I move mails to the Junk folder. I installed the

Another code to drop factor levels
I apologize if this is not appropriate for this mailing list. In R, there is already functionality to drop unused factor levels. However, I am proposing the code below that I wrote. In some occasions, it was faster than applying function 'factor'. In any case, there is no restriction for anyone to use the code below. droplevels2 <- function(x) { if (is.null(levels(x))) stop("no

kernel panic caused by zfs/sa.c
Hello, I'm experiencing a kernel panic that appears to be caused by zfs. No errors are making it into /var/log/messages, but here is the error message that appears on my screen after panic (transcribed): panic solaris assert BSWAP_32(sa_hdr_phys->sa_magic) == SA_MAGIC, file: /src/sys/modules/zfs/../../cddl/contrib/opensolaris/uts/common/fs/zfs/sa.c, line 1262 I can reproduce this by

It's got 4 bays for be used for data that I'm considering setup up woth softwere raid (mdadm) I've 2 x 2TB 2 x 2.5 TB and 2 x 1TB, I'm leaning towards usig the 4 2.x TB is a raid 5 array to get 6TB. Now the data is on the 2.5TB disks currently. So the plan so far. Building the array as a degraded raid 5 with the 2 x 2TB
