3d topographic map [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
Hi Sherri,
There are examples of topographic maps which you have been pointed to, however, I suspect that you want to know where you can obtain topographic data from rather than a canned example.
There are quite a few intricacies to the process so I will go through them for you.
(1)
Topography files can be found in the geomapdata library. You will probably want to use the maps package too (if

Reading a data file one record at a time [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
Dear r-help,
I have a radar data file in the following format:
nrays
for (1 to n_rays)
{ some_data_info
for (1 to n_gates)
{ some_data_info}
}
N_rays=360 and n_gates=950
The data looks something like:
Header line1
Ray1 header
gate1 var1, var2,.....,varN
...
gate950 var1, var2,.....,varN
Ray2 header
gate1 var1, var2,.....,varN

The design document has a high-level idea of the ISA, or rather of the AST
we're thinking of going with:

Changing the origin in polar.plot in plotrix package
I am trying to draw a polar plot, which is easy enough to do in the
plotrix package through the polar.plot function.
However I would like to change the origin of the length vector. For
instance all my length values are between 75 and 85, so instead of
having the origin as 0 (the default) I'd like it to be, say, 50.
Is there any way do to this in the polar.plot function, or if not is
there an

ncdf4 installation problem: undefined symbol [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
Hello,
I'm trying to install ncdf4 on RHEL 5.8, R version 2.15.1.
Previously installed is netcdf 3.6.2 from Red Hat, so I've compiled and installed netcdf 4.2.1.1 (with hdf5 and zlib as per install instructions, and also set --enable-netcdf4 option) into /usr/local.
When attempting to install ncdf4 it is failing with:

Polar plot, circular plot (angular data): II
Dear R-users,
As noted by Paul Murrell < p.murrell at auckland.ac.nz > there is errors in the code for polar plotting I send to R-help under the title "Polar plot, circular plot (angular data)" at Thu Oct 17 2002 - 12:18:20 CEST.
Thanks!
I have reorganized the code into a structure ('pp'). This allows plots to be modified to a greater extent by passing arguments by ...

Polar plot, circular plot (angular data)
Dear R-users,
Hereby a polar plot function for plotting angular data. I hope it will be usefull for some of you.
I had a need to plot frequencies of wind-directions. The not-that-cheap SigmaPlot software did not allow me to change the orientation of the angular axis to clockwise orientation (what is used for meteorological observations). I even tried the latest version availible at the time

ggplot2, arrows and polar coordinates
Dear R users,
The following issue has been already documented, but, if I am not
mistaken, not yet solved.
This issue appears while trying to plot arrows with "geom_segment"
(package ggplot2), with polar coordinates ("coord_polar"). The direction
of some arrows is wrong (red rectangle). Please find herewith an example.
Does someone know how to deal with that issue?

Creating a Polar Plot with expanding points as radius increases
I'd like to create a polar plot similar to those created by the polarFreq
function in the openair package. However, this package seems to be specific
to wind speed and direction, and requires a "ws" (wind speed) and a "wd"
(wind direction) column. My data is unrelated to wind speed, but I'd like
to be able to get a plot that does what polarFreq's plots do; I'd

SEC: UNCLASSIFIED:-Could not convert sid to gid
I'm using a Proliant GL-380 server running Red Had Linux ES 4
(2.6.9-5.0.3.ELSMP) and Samba 3.0.10-1.4E. The server is acting as a
Domain Member Server of an ADS Windows 2003 server. The problem I haveI
been having is with some groups not being "migrated" to the Linux
environment, or more specifically converting the group SIDs to GIDs. The
problem can be summarised as follows:

FW: Predictive accuracy measures in a recently released R package, spm: Spatial Predictive Modelling [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
Hi All,
Just thought you might be interested in a recently released R package, spm: Spatial Predictive Modelling.
It aims to introduce some novel, accurate, hybrid geostatistical and machine learning methods for spatial predictive modelling.
Of 22 functions available in spm, two functions are for accuracy assessment. Perhaps they are not only useful tools for spatial predictive modelling

SEC: UNCLASSIFIED:- 10 VLANS, 10 Master browsers, 1 PC
I have the following problem, and I would l like to know if Samba can help.
(I suspect that it cannot, but feel free to prove me wrong.)
My scenario is this: My site is just one of many, with the `Domain Master
Browser` being off-site. My site has 10 VLANS, and in the current, purely
Windows environment I have assorted problems with the browser list being
maintained across all 10 VLANS.

This question is outside of the RPy scope. It looks like the type of
question that should be posed to the R-devel mailing list:

When upgrading to 2.11.1 recently I noticed different results being produced by my code.
After much digging I have finally narrowed it to a call to nlm().
This can be replicated by:
