Include C++ DLL, error in ...: C symbol name not in load table

Lots of huge matrices, for-loops, speed
Hello,
we have 80 text files with matrices. Each matrix represents a map (rows for
latitude and columns for longitude), the 80 maps represent steps in time. In
addition, we have a vector x of length 80. We would like to compute a
regression between matrices (response through time) and x and create maps
representing coefficients, r2 etc. Problem: the 80 matrices are of the size
4000 x 3500 and we

Extract confidence intervals from rma object (metafor package)
Dear R-experts!
I am working on some meta-analysis using the metafor package. I would like
to extract values of the confidence intervals of the effect sizes of the
single studies from an rma object. Those values are printed out when
plotting a forest plot using the forest function on the rma object, however
I was not able to locate them.

Using dcast with multiple functions to aggregate
Dear R communitiy,
I am trying to use multiple functions for aggregation within a function
call for dcast. However this seems to result in an error. Also I have not
managed to make dcast() work with fun.aggregate=sd. Please find attached
some example code using the ChickWeight data.

I guess you're trying to solve the fragile base-class problem by
deferring field offset calculations until JIT compilation time?
Perhaps I'm missing something, but can't you accomplish this by using
external constants in the source program, to be supplied at JIT/link
time?

I would like to implement an equivalent mechanism of function callbacks
in the JIT, but for fields. Typically in Java, when you compile a
method, there may be some instructions (getfield, putfield) that depend
on a type which is not yet resolved.
I think the best way to do this in LLVM is to add an intrinsic. The
intrinsic would be only valid if we jit, and would be lowered only in

Power calculation using pwr.t.test()
Dear R experts,
I have conducted a power calculation in order to estimate the number of
subjects needed to detect an effect size of d=0.28 (cohen's d) for a
difference between two independent groups (alpha level should be 0.05 and
the effect should be detected with 80% probability).

Converting F-value from ANOVA to cohen's d in meta-analysis (metafor-package)

Main-effect of categorical variables in meta-analysis (metafor)
Dear R-experts!
In a meta-analysis (metafor) I would like to assess the effect of two
categorical covariates (A & B) whereas they both have 4 levels.
Is my understanding correct that this would require to dummy-code (0,1) each
level of each covariate (A & B)?
However I am interested in the main-effects and the interaction of these two
covariates and the dummy-coding would only allow to

Embed R code in online database
Dear R-List!
I would like to embed R code in an online database such as i.e. a google
spreadsheet in way that users can add data to the database and that R's
calculations are updated automatically and i.e. given out in the
spreadsheet. Maybe even graphs could be updated online? Is there a way to
implement this?

Annotate forest plot 'forest.rma()' for meta-analysis with metafor package
Dear R-experts,
The forest.rma() function from the metafor package creates nice forest
plots for presenting the results of a meta-analysis. These plots can be

ranking the results of a questionnaire
dear experts,
I reproduced an experiment (questionnaire) some times.
The result of the experiment is a vector of 5 factors, say (A,B,C,D,E).
In the original article the result is given in 5 pairs of mean and stDev for
A .. E, e.g. mean_A=37.4 and sd_A=8.1.
The interval for A,B,C,D,E values is 0..50. The original data frame is not
available.

scatter plot with 1 standard deviation for each point
Hi,
Could anyone give suggestions how to plot a scatter plot with 1 standard
deviation for each point. To make it clearer, here is a simple example: the
scatterplot is plot(X, Y), but I want to add 1 standard deviation according
to the value of Z for each Y.

The standard deviation of measurement 1 with respect to measurement 2

I have two (different types of) measurements, say X and Y, resulting from
the same set of experiments. So X and Y are paired: (x_1, y_1), (x_2, y_2),

"non-sample" standard-deviation
Hi,
R seems to use the "1/n-1"-factor calculating the standard-deviation sd().
If i wat to get the "non-sample" standard-deviation i use
sqrt(sd(x)^2*((n-1)/n))
Is there a parameter to get the sd()-function using the "1/n" factor
directly?
Or is there any other function to do so?
