FreeBSD-Update + Sendmail
I have been updating my FreeBSD systems for many years by updating and building from source. For the FreeBSD 9.2 cycle, I decided to use freebsd-update for binary update instead. I use Sendmail + Cyrus-SASL and the freebsd-update process only installed a 'bare bones' binary. How do I compile just Sendmail from source so that it uses my /etc/make.conf for the smtp_auth components?

Everyone, Please forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this question, but would sure appreciate some direction if this list is the wrong place. Looks like Fedora 5 and 6 have gmime-2.1.19 as part of the distribution, but it is not present within CentOS 5 or with the extra repositories I would like to use some of the tools in this package to decode some mime e-mail attachments on a CentOS

Hi. I have a default installation of Exim with only a few changed settings. It appears to only bind to the loopback interface. I have not set any local_interfaces values, as the default behaviour is to bind on all interfaces. But alas, exim does not respond on its IP address: [root at obiwan ~]# /etc/init.d/exim restart Shutting down exim: [ OK ]

saslauthd/dovecot/root
Hi, I am using SMTP-AUTH over TLS with sendmail, to allow remote users to authenticate and send mail via my server, and this uses saslauthd to authenticate users. I have set up saslauthd with the "MECH=rimap" mechanism, so it uses the local IMAP server, Dovecot, for authentication. I want to do this because Dovecot is set up to use /etc/passwd for user credentials (so I don't
