My very first loop!! I failed. May I have some start-up aid?
Thank you for providing the example code... for the request of running it
multiple times it would have helped if you could have confirmed that the
example ran through without errors... there were a lot of mistakes in it.
Look into using the reprex package to check your example next time.
I don't do this kind of analysis... I really don't know what to expect
from the functions. The

R crashes with >kud<-kernelUD(data, h="LSCV") script
Hi,
I am looking to perform a kernel density analysis in R, following the script that a friend of mine is using successfully. However, unlike for her, when I enter >kud<-kernelUD(data, h="LSCV"), R crashes and closes every time. This does not happen when I perform a different kernel analysis (>kud<-kernelUD(data))..
I have tried to un-install and re-install R, but it still

lapply and kernelUD (adehabitatHR package): Home Range kernel estimation for a list of individuals
Dear R experts,
I'm using the adehabitatHR package in order to perform a kernel analysis and
estimate the home range of my input data (GPS relocations of 42
individuals).
I've done the analysis for one of the individuals and it worked perfectly
(see code below).
But now I'm trying to use a list and call the function lapply to do the same
thing through all the 42 individuals (also see

Adehabitat package question - trying to generate animal home ranges
Hello,
I'm new to R and am trying to use the adehabitat package for home range and
habitat selection analysis for some animal radiotelemetry data sets I have,
but I can't get the home range functions (mcp & kernelUD) to work with my
data. I think that my problem is that I don't properly understand how the
package uses data frames and factors, and I may not be defining the id

Help on error (Error: could not find function "kernelUD")
Hello,
I am working through examples of generating Home Range using the
adehabitatHR package. Everything is going fine until I load the code for the
kernelUD function, it looks like this;
> data(puechabonsp)
> kud <- kernelUD(puechabonsp$relocs[,1], h="href")
> kud
I then get an error of; Error: could not find function "kernelUD"
Any thoughts on what I am

adehabitatMA, LT, HR and HS version 0.1
Dear all,
I have just uploaded 4 new packages on CRAN, which are on the long term
designed to replace the "old" package adehabitat:
* adehabitatMA: functions to perform spatial operations (morphology,
buffer, etc.)
* adehabitatHS: functions for the analysis of habitat selection by wildlife
* adehabitatHR: functions for home range estimation of animals

adehabitat version 1.7
Dear all,
I have uploaded to CRAN the version 1.7 of the package 'adehabitat'.
Significant changes are listed below:
* The Brownian bridge kernel estimation algorithm has been greatly
improved. It now takes more than 80% less time than the previous
version. A new function "liker" has also been added, which estimates the
one of the two smoothing parameters of the bridge

lme model with replicates within a random factor
Dear all,
I wonder if anyone can help me with specifying a right model for my
analysis. I am a beginner to lme methods. I was unfortunately not able to
find a solution to my problem on my own.
Data structure:
I have sampled monthly 6 basins during two hydrological cycles, and I have
taken several (2 to 4) samples (“replicate”) for each basin and month. I’m
trying to relate Shannon diversity

glm, poisson and negative binomial distribution and confidence interval
Dear list,
I am using glm's to predict count data for a fish species inside and outside
a marine reserve for three different methods of monitoring.
I run glms and figured out the best model using step function for each
methods used.
I predicted two values for my fish counts inside and outside the reserve
using means of each of the covariates (using predict() )
therefore I have only one value

OT: setting up a bridge
hi all,
I am using centos3.5 for my firewall home. I would like to do some
tests with bridge firewalling. When i try to create the bridge, brctl
givtes me this error: br_add_bridge: Package not installed.
i find some answers about this error, but the most important is the
one that says driver is not loaded into kernel. In my

Samba 4 AD SmartCard Authentication Problem
Unfortunately this does not work.
Example: Yes, when i give it a few Days, the client will retrieve the
actual crl faster. But the auth still works.
I have tried it. I revoked an cert. Installed a new win10 client and
joined the domain. After login with the revoked p12 cert on a yubikey, i
can see he queries the CDP and still allows the login.
With certutil and a cert in DER format, i tried

question about unhide / transitory process
Hello,
running unhide ( unhide-20130526-1.el7.x86_64 ) on CentOS 7 i get
sometimes messages like:
Found HIDDEN PID: 30784
Cmdline: "<none>"
Executable: "<no link>"
"<none> ... maybe a transitory process"
On a second unhide run immediately after it, the process seems to have
vanished. Also, i do not see anything about it in /proc, and rkhunter

AIC for lognormal model
Dear all,
I want to compare some different models for a dataset by QQ plots and AIC. I get the following AICs:
- linear model: 19759.66
- GAMLSS model: 18702.7
- linear model with lognormal response: -7862.182
The QQ plots show that the lognormal model fits better than the linear model, but still much worse than the GAMLSS. So, in my opinion, the AIC of the lognormal model should be between the

Time delaying (or time lagging)
Hello everyone,
I have problem with time delaying on my CentOS powered server. I have tried
to set time in BIOS and in OS (with saving time to BIOS), but time still
delaying, so after month is about five minutes delayed. In past I was using
this box with Windows and there wasn?t this time problem, but I cant
warrant, that there are no hardware issues. So I was decided, that easiest
way to fix

Samba 4 AD SmartCard Authentication Problem
I found an old bugzilla report for this behavior:
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9612
According to the statements in it, there was a patch already in version
4.16 and in heimdal 8 last year? Which option must be in the krb5.conf?
I have tried kdc_pkinit_revoke and pkinit_revoke. Both have no effect.

Speex seek with high precision
Hello Conrad,
I'm trying to seek the way you told but I'm facing a problem.
ogg_page_packets returns 164 and following code returns 189. Shouldn't it be
the same, what does that means ?
int res;
while (true)
{
res = ogg_stream_packetout(&os, &op);
if (res == 1)
nPackets++;
if (res == -1)
