multi-scale singular spectrum analysis (SSA)
Hi everybody! I am searching for an R implementation of multi-scale singular spectrum analysis (SSA), which was introduced by Yiou etal (2000) (Data-adaptive wavelets and multi-scale singular-spectrum analysis) and further described in Ghil etal (2002). For SSA alone I found an package recently published on r-forge: http://r-forge.r-project.org/projects/simsalabim/ I am happy about any

"Error : singular gradient matrix at initial parameters estimates"
Dear all, I am a fresh user of R and I already face to problems that I don't understand. In the use of the function nls(), I systematically have an error message : "Singular gradient matrix at initial parameters estimates". I tried to use nls() on a set of data that I subseted from a bigger matrix data. I wish to fit a gaussian on these points (spectrum) and draw this fit on the

How to get the pseudo left inverse of a singular square m atrix?
I'm rusty, but not *that* rusty here, I hope. If W (=Z*Z' in your case) is singular, it can not have inverse, which by definition also mean that nothing multiply by it will produce the identity matrix (for otherwise it would have an inverse and thus nonsingular). The definition of a generalized inverse is something like: If A is a non-null matrix, and G satisfy AGA = A, then G is called

Add title to color spectrum legend in xyplot
Hi, I have a plot that is essentially the same as that in Figure 5.6 of "Lattice - Multivariate Data Visualization with R". The key difference is that I would like to add a title to top of the grey color spectrum legend, but have thus far been unsuccessful. I've tried a variety of options, but to no avail. I'm new to R, and admittedly I don't understand the

svd() (Linpack) problems/bug for ill-conditioned matrices (PR#594)
After fixing princomp(), recently, {tiny negative eigen-values are possible for non-negative definite matrices} Fritz Leisch drew my attention to the fact the not only eigen() can be funny, but also svd(). Adrian Trappleti found that the singular values returned can be "-0" instead of "0". This will be a problem in something like sd <- svd(Mat) $ d

SMB3 Multichannel supported
I have been reviewing some event viewer logs of smbclient on the W10 workstations I have in our Samba 4 AD environment. These logs are complaining about "Multichannel" and that an administrator has disabled multichannel. I have found that multichannel was implemented as "experimental" in v4.4. Then, I also found a post (somewhere) that it was still "experimental" in

joint multichannel coding (long message)
I've got an idea for joint multichannel coding. Here is my idea: My idea is a process for coding 2,3,4 or 5 combined channels, in a compatible way for decoders unable to deal with combined channels. part1: All channels to be coded are summed, each one effected by a coefficient related to its sound power importance for the listener. The sum of all channels is devided by the square root of the

SMB Multichannel not working?
Hello, I, like many before me, am having an issue with SMB multichannel. I am running Samba v4.10.16 (package is provided by Amazon) on an Amazon Linux 2 EC2 instance. I am aware that SMB multichannel is an experimental feature until 4.15, but the documentation states it is supported so I would like to evaluate it. We have had reports of performance degradation when certain workloads (heavy

Multichannel echo cancellation
Dear all, I have just implemented a gstreamer plugin for the Speex AEC, but now I would like to extend it to a multichannel echo cancellation I have been searching documentation about that but I could not find it Where it is? If it doesn't exist? Could you add a short example showing how do you think it should work? or It's "just" necessary to: init the multichannel echo

Cross Spectrum : Conversion of 2-D spectrum into a single complex array
Hi, I'm wondering why the spectrum() phase of quadrature couple isn't purely +/-pi. But mostly, I'm looking for a recommended way to take a 2-D spectrum and convert it into a single complex array. Kindly consider: # 10 Hz sine wave 10 seconds long sampled at 50 Hz deltaT = 1/50 t = seq(0, 10, deltaT) w = 2 * pi * 10 x = ts( sin( w * t ), deltat = deltaT ) y = ts( sin(

SMB Multichannel use-cases
Thanks for your response! In other words, would the client be encouraged to open multiple connections with the server to access multiple files in parallel? -Madhu On Saturday, February 18, 2017, Jeremy Allison <jra at samba.org> wrote: > On Fri, Feb 17, 2017 at 09:09:10AM +0530, Madhusudan R via samba wrote: > > Hello, > > > > I'd like to understand the use-cases

multichannel streaming
I highly recommend the open source Jinzora project (http://www.jinzora.org/). It has merged with and extended the capabilities of the older NetJuke project. It's geared towards authenticated, on-demand playback and supports many formats, ogg included. I've been thoroughly impressed with the quality of the package, it's GUI options, and its robustness. I personally use icecast2 to

SMB Multichannel use-cases
Hello, I'd like to understand the use-cases to use SMB multichannel. Especially, if the SMB client and Samba server are talking over the WAN. When does one see an improvement in throughput with multichannel? For instance, does copying multiple files result in parallel copying over multiple connections over the same session? Your inputs are appreciated. Thanks, Madhu

multichannel?
Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to do multichannel encoding with CELT. From the documentation & the code I understand that CELT currently encodes mono (1 channel) or stereo (2 channels). I would like to use CELT in a multichannel setup, to encode (and stream) n mono channels. Just n mono channels, not a layout like 5.1 With vorbis I can do this, but vorbis adds a lot of

Multichannel coding
Hi Jean-Marc, It was discussed before, when multichannel streams are encoded; taken multiple instances of the encoder where the input is not correlated. Is there a way to pack the result of all channels again? Or maybe do something more efficient in the first place on multichannel streams? Stefan
