[BioC] make.cdf.package: Error: cannot allocate vector of size 1 Kb
My machine has 8GB memory. I had quit all other programs that might take a lot of memory when I try the script (before I post the first message in this thread). The cdf file is of only 741 MB. It is strange to me to see the error. On Mon, Dec 28, 2009 at 2:38 AM, Wolfgang Huber <whuber at embl.de> wrote: > Dear Peng Yu > > how big is the RAM of your computer? You could try with

read.affy.mixed - subscript out of bounds error

Debugging namespace problems
Hi all, I frequently find that I've failed to export something in my NAMESPACE and hence my package doesn't work when it's imported into another package. Does anyone have suggestion for debugging this type of problem? R CMD check passes without any ns related errors on both the importee and the importer. I've attached a reproducible example - if you install the development

lattice custom axis function -- right side margins
Dear R help list, I have a plot with two different vertical scales that I want to display on either side of the plot. It's quite similar to the Fahrenheit-Centigrade example in the examples section of the documentation for axis.default. The right-side axis is clipped off, though, and I haven't been able to figure out anything with viewport() and clipping or trellis.par.set to fix

I want to do the following: DEVw=500 DEVh=350 fname="my_plot" dev.print(file=fname, device=FOO, width=DEVw, height=DEVh, bg="transparent") How do I do this such that I can specify FOO to be one of several choices? (GDD, PNG, postscript, etc.) If I make FOO a character variable, then "dev.print" complains. I tried a simpled "substitute" but

change in default behavior of ?functionname in R 2.10?
Hi everyone, I just installed R 2.10 using the Windows binary. At some point in the past using the Windows binary installation, the default behavior of ?functionname changed from plain text to a nice html interface. Now with R 2.10, the default behavior has changed back to the plain text help. I assume this has some thing to do with these changes listed for R 2.10, but I don't quite

Write.fwf works from Mac, throws different number of row error in Windows
Hello, I am having a problem with write.fwf in Windows. I wrote a code to ingest a number of text files with weather data in them, process them, and then output a text file with two parts: 1) a set of column names, 2) the processed data table. I wrote and tested the program on my Mac, and it worked fine. However, on the windows machine, where I intend the work to be done, when I run the

packages gdata / gtools - installation in R 2.11.0
Dear R-list members, I have just downloaded R version 2.11.0. Then I installed package gdata. At the end of the installation, a warning message said that package gtools could not be found. Arguments to "personalised" plot()
Hi Folks, I'm curious for an explanation of the following -- it's a matter of trying to understand how R parses it. I've written sundry little "helper" variants of functions, in particular plot(), to save repetitively typing the same options over and over again. For example: plotb <- function(x,...){plot(x,pch="+",col="blue",...)} This does exactly

Confidence interval for coefficient of variation
This is a function I coded a few years ago to calculate a confidence interval for a coefficient of variation. The code is based on a paper by Mark Vangel in The American Statistician. I have not used the function much, but it could be useful for comparing cv's from different groups. Kevin Wright confint.cv <- function(x,alpha=.05, method="modmckay"){ # Calculate the

fraction [a] a partitioning of variation
Hi, After performing a multiple linear regression, I am looking for an R package that can calculate the fraction [a] a partitioning of variation. This fraction measures the proportion of variance of y explained by the explanatory variable x1 (for example) when other variables (x2, x3 ...) are held constant. Thank you in advance for your help -- View this message in context:
