Plotting just a portion of a smoother graph in ggplot2
Hi,
I am using ggplot2 to with the following code:
gmathk2 <-
qplot(time,math,colour=Kids,data=kids.ach.lm.k5,geom="smooth",method="lm",formula=y~ns(x,1))
+ opts(title="Smoother Plot: Math K-5") + xlab("Time") + ylab("Math") +
scale_colour_brewer(pal="Set1"); gmathk2
This plots all the smoother for all the x values. What I'd like

ColorBrewer question
Hello, R friends,
I'm trying to change colors of my horizontal bars so that they show a sequence.
I chose the ColorBrewer palette "Blues". However the resulting plot doesn't show any changes to the default.
I tried several places of "+ scale_colour_brewer(type="seq", pal = "Blues")" with no effect.
This is my code:
p <- ggplot(data, aes(x =

Change default order of colors & line types
Dear R users,
I'd like to change the default order of colors & line types.
Especially I am using ggplot2 and using color Set1.
In Set1, the default color order is red, blue, green, violet,.. ect.
However, I want to put red in fourth (not first).
Likewise, I want to change the order of default linetype. I want to
put "solid" line in fourth.
How can I do thses?

specifying colours in a ggplot2 piechart
Someone was asking how to do a 16 category piechart in OpenOffice Calc and it appears that it can not be done (which we, probably, should be happy about) but I thought that I'd try it in ggplot2.
It works but I then thought I'd like to make the colours more distinctive but fro some reason I don't seem to be able to use manually assigned colours.
Can anyone suggest where I'm

Nortel 81C MSDL Trunking to Asterisk TE110P, Nortel Resetting PRI Channels
We are currently working to trunk from a Nortel 81C to an Asterisk

with the exception of the clock slips, which is causing the Nortel to
reset the PRIs once a hour. Thanks for any suggestions.

Choosing colours for lines in ggplot2
Hello - I am trying to plot flows in a number of rivers within the same
plot, and need to colour the lines differently, using a colour-blind
palette.
Code beneath works but has colours assigned by the program I have made some
simple dummy data:
## code 1
cb8<- c("#000000", "#E69F00", "#56B4E9", "#009E73","#F0E442", "#0072B2",

Changing gird marks in ggplot2
Hi,
When I zoom into a graph created in ggplot2 with the
coord_cartesian(ylim=c(0,5)) option, I have no values labelled on my y-axis.
For this graph ggplot2 only puts labels the y-axis at intervals of 10 (i.e.
0, 10, 20, ...). However, the major portion of the graph I am interested in
is located between the values of 0 and 5 on the y-axis (thus why I am
zoooming). How can I coerce ggplot2 into

ggplot2
Dear r-helpers,
I'm using ggplot2::ggplot to plot seven time series on the same graph.
c <- ggplot(jobm, aes(y = value, x = year, colour = kind))
c + stat_smooth()
This gives me a legend with colors that are not very different. Can I
label the lines instead? How?

Converting qqplot2 qplot() to grammar?
Hello all,
I've been using the following qplot command:
qplot(pixX,pixY, data=som, geom="tile", fill=rgb) +
scale_fill_identity() + opts(aspect.ratio = .75) + facet_grid(unitX ~ unitY)
Now I would like to convert it into the explicit ggplot grammar, so I
can remove the extras: axes, labels, background, borders, facet labels,
and extra white-space around the plot. (If anyone has

break error bars in ggplot2
Hello,
i use ggplot to plot some measures including CIs as horizontal errorbars. I get an error when the scale limits are narrower than the boundaries of the error bar and hence the CIs are not plotted.

Insert segment only on particular facets in ggplot
Dear R users,
I am working on a data-set with 3 species. They are apple, orange and
banana.
I want to annotate the facets only on the bottom panel. However, by default
I am getting annotations on all the plots. I was able to get text
annotation only on the desired plot. However, I am confused what I need to
do for the arrows / segments.
Here is my code:

ggplot2: scale_y_log10() with geom_histogram
Dear ggplot2 users,
is there an easy/elegant way to suppress zero count bars in histograms with
logarithmic y axis ?
One (made up) example would be
qplot(exp(rnorm(1000))) + geom_histogram(colour = "cornsilk", fill =
"darkblue") + scale_x_sqrt() + scale_y_log10()
Thanks!

Question about ggplot2
Dear All,
I am trying to graph a simple scatter plot where the x axis is year
and the y axis is a percentage (percentage of infant death). Instead
of plotting the raw data, I want to plot summary statistics such as
mean and median. Here is the problem: the value range of y is between
0 and 1, but since infant death is a rare event, the mean and median
is very low (something like 5%), which shows

winbindd
hi all,
as i heard, i need winbind to connect linux-clients on samba. i installed
this - without pam (in the hope this would work...) but this constellation
seems to be needed, as i still cannot connect, even if winbind logs my
domain as accepted.
Do i really have to do the pam-configuration on the samba-server-side
too?? i just thought, it was enough to authentificate against smbpasswd.
