PRI concentrator
Hey gang,
We currently have a class 3 switch (CSX) that..well..it sucks. It does
terrible CDR writes, doesn't support LCR, the list goes on and on. We want
to replace this with several asterisk boxes each running one or two 4 port
PRI cards.
The problem is: I can plug in 20 PRI lines into the CSX (from PSTN) and
have 1 come from CSX into asterisk. If 1 call comes in on each of the 20
pris,

switching elements of a vector
Hi,
I would like to receive help for the following matter:
If I'm dealing with a numeric vectors containing increasing elements.
i.e.
a<-c(1,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,6,7,7,7)
There exist an efficient way to obtain an vector that indicates the position
of the changing element of "a"?
In this case it would be something like:
index<-c(1,6,9,12,14,15)
usually I'm used

SSH authentication order on AIX
I'm trying to get to the bottom of an issue with key authentication on
AIX and I'm not sure I believe IBM's answer so I thought I'd post here
to see what answer I'd get from the SSH side.
We have three different methods of authentication - local, VAS (AD),
NIS. On our Linux and Solaris servers it's very simple to set the
authentication order with nsswitch.conf and SSH

samba 2.2.6pre2 make fails
When I compile Samba, this is on SuSE 7.2, I keep getting a make failure,
but it still completes to a prompt. Should I ignore or does anyone have a
"fix"?
When I configure, I use these options:
./configure --enable-cups --with-smbwrapper --with-automount
--with-smbmount --with-pam --with-pam_smbpass --with-winbind
--with-winbind-auth-challenge
When I run make, this is the error,

IMAP/POP3 proxying and capability
Hi,
I setup a rather large POP3/IMAP configuration and want to use dovecot proxying
feature.
I have noted that the capability announce when connecting via the proxies are
not the same before you are authenticated and after. Before you are
authenticated the proxy announce is own capability and after it announce the
final server capability. The problem is that some (most ? all ?) mail client

s.e. of arima
Hi,
I'm using the function arima() from the ts package.
when the function gives me the output I can see the s.e. of the
coefficients.
However I cannot find a way to collect them in a object
estimate<-arima(x, order=c(1,0,1))
estimate$se does not work
in fact str(estimate) does not contain $se.
How is it possible? The function compute and print that value but it is not

Lazy expunge plugin
There's now a plugin called lazy_expunge in CVS. Instead of EXPUNGE
expunging the mails directly, they're moved to a mailbox with same name
in another namespace where user can still copy the mails back. Also
DELETEd mailboxes are moved to another namespace.
See http://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/Lazyexpunge for more information.
This is similar to Cyrus's two phase expunge:

production environment
So I''m getting ready to setup a production environment on my boxen (running
Fedora Core 3), what are my options? I''ve seen a number of posts about
FastCGI, SCGI, etc. and am completely lost as to what I should be setting up
on my box (that I hopefully won''t have to touch for a while).
I need to run Collaboa, Typo and probably 3 or 4 other apps on this, so

SUSE 9.3 Winbind+ PAM+AD
Hello,
I have been using Fedora Core, Samba, and Active Directory to provide
authentication services for Windows based users for a few years now, but as
an experiment I wanted to accomplish the same service with SUSE 9.3 .
I have been able to get this configuration to run successfully with RH9,
FC1, FC2, FC3, and FC4 (buggy but works), but with SUSE I have stalled a
bit. I feel I have

censored counts and glmer/glmmADMB
dear R-users,
I have to model counts where all counts above some threshold
have been censored. In the same dataset I have too many zeroes for
a Poisson or even a negative binomial distribution to make
sense, so I would need a zero-inflated-censored negative binomial
family for use in glmer (or glmmADMB?). That seems not to exist.
my question is :
how could I add a custom-built family of

A disk on Thumper giving random CKSUM error counts
Hello all,
As some of you might remember, there is a Sun Fire X4500
(Thumper) server that I was asked to help upgrade to modern
disks. It is still in a testing phase, and the one UltraStar
3Tb currently available to the server''s owners is humming
in the server, with one small partition on its tail which
replaced a dead 250Gb disk earlier in to pool. The OS is
still SXCE snv_117 so

str_count counts the substring
I am trying to count the number of times a word occurs in a string.
and using str_count function from the package stringr. This function counts
the substrings as well.
Is there a way in which I can exclude the substring count and just take the
exact match.
Thanks in advance.

Accumulating Physdev Counts
When using v2 we would modify the saved /var/lib/shorewall/restore file to
modify logging so we had separate counts by the physical device the
packets (actually, NEW connections, not total packet counts), such as:
-A LogStuff -j LOG etc
-A LogStuff -m physdev --physdev-in eth1 -j DROP
-A LogStuff -m physdev --physdev-in eth2 -j DROP
which gave us an idea where dropped traffic cam from
