Knowledge discovery
Hi,
I have 100000 units with 10 attributes (attr1, attr2, attr3, etc...)
For instance:

I'd like to answer to the question:

b) How could I describe the relations

Nearest Neighbor Algorithm in R -- again.
Several of the methods I use for analyzing large data sets, such as
WinGamma: determining the level of noise in data
Relief-F: estimating the influence of variables
depend on finding the k nearest neighbors of a point in a data frame or
matrix efficiently. (For large data sets it is not feasible to compute
the 'dist' matrix anyway.)

how to label the som notes by the majority vote
HI, Dear R community,
I am using the following codes to do the som. I tried to label the notes by
the majority vote. either through mapping or prediction.
I attached my output, the left one dont have any labels in the note, the
right one has more than one label in each note. I need to have only one
label for each note either by majority vote or prediction.
Can anyone give some suggestions or

Linear Discriminant Analysis in R
Dear R gurus,
Thank you all for continuous support and guidance -- learning without you
would not be efficient.
I have a question regarding LD analysis and how to best code it up in R.
I have a file of (V52 and 671 time points across all columns) and another
file of phonetic features (each vowel is aligned with a distinct binary
sequence, i.e.

Need Help! Poor performance about randomForest for large data
Hi, dears,
I am processing some data with 60 columns, and 286,730 rows.
Most columns are numerical value, and some columns are categorical value.
It turns out that: when ntree sets to the default value (500), it says "can
not allocate a vector of 1.1 GB size"; And when I set ntree to be a very
small number like 10, it will run for hours.
I use the (x,y) rather than the (formula, data).

masking a regular lat/lon grid to extract map boundaries
Dear R-helpers,
I have lat/lon coordinates of regularly spaced grid points, about 4Km
apart, covering the entire US continental region.
I would like to mask this rectangular grid in order to extract all and
only the grid points within a specific region. Today I want to
extract Montana, say, from this grid, and I am hoping to somehow use
the returned value of the function

Budgetone Supervised Transfer
Hi.
I was wondering if there's a way to do supervised transfers on
the budgetone 102 . Blind works ok, but can't do supervised.
I thought that with the flash button that could be possible, but
seems I'm wrong ....

Supervised transfers
I've seen a lot of traffic on the list recently about which phones can do
supervised transfers and which cannot, and I have to admit that I'm a bit
puzzled. Our existing PBX, which is software based, handles the transfer
functions for our call center -- the agents never touch their phone, and
instead use software. We can plug any old phone into it, and it'll work
just the same.
So

CallerID after Supervised Transfer
Is there a way to keep the incoming CallerID from the PSTN and pass it
onto the sip phone receiving the supervised call transfer?
The receptionist receives the PSTN callerID, performs a supervised
transfer, we get her local SIP callerID, not the original callers.
The main reason we would like the true callerID is for asterisk monitor
to name the file correctly for call records.
Is this

Supervised/Attended transfers
Hey all,
I've been trying to get supervised transfers working without success.
I'm currently running 1.0.7-stable and think it might be a version
problem. Is the supervised transfer feature available in 1.0.7 or do i
need to suck down a new version from CVS?
Otherwise, apart from setting up features.conf, is there anything else
i'm missing?
TIA,
Jamie.

Supervised transfer problem with BudgetTone
Hi all,
I'm quite new on this mailing list, and I discover the asterisk world.
I m experimenting a PBX with SIP phones, grandstream budgetone (not
expensive for tests)
All the features I need work just not one : the supervised call
transfers. I know there are a lot of posts about that, but none gave me
the correct answer (unless I missed it).
Here is my config :

R-beta: C/Fortran function not in load table
I have gotten this sort of problem some weeks ago and have solved it
with the mailing list archive. But now I have this problem again with
the class library.
What should I put in library/class/R/zzz.R? Everything I put in that
file leads to the same error message. I'm running 0.61.3 on Linux.

Bagged clustering (package e1071)
Dear all,
I have a problem with the function "bagged clustering" of package
e1071.
When I try to run the example of bagged clustering with the iris data :
data(iris)
bc1 <- bclust(iris[,1:4], 3, base.centers=5)
I got the following message error :

Warning message when items of Hmisc are masked by loading a package.
I've noticed that I get a warning message every time a package masks
some functions from Hmisc. The warning message says :
Warning message:
In identical(get(., i), get(., lib.pos)) : ignoring non-pairlist attributes
This happens with eg:
library(plyr)
library(xtable)
I think I've seen this passing by before, but I'm not sure any more.
Just thought I'd mention it.
Cheers

R: AT-320 + supervised transfer
Hi,
Thanks for yuor answer.
The boot time of the phone is very very fast, 10 sec to startup and 2 or 3 second to login to asterisk. I set the NTP server to 255.255.255.255 so it don't try to get time.
I thinked carefully to your scenario and i am going to try it, but i don't known if it could like to my customer
I will try also to use CVS, but i am skeptic to utilize asterisk to

Non-procedural access to columns of a matrix
Hi,
I would like to have an index for a column in a matrix encoded in a
cell of the same matrix.
For example:
x = matrix(c(11,12,13,1,
21,22,23,3,
31,32,33,2),byrow=T,ncol=4)
In this case, column 4 is the index. I then access the column
specified in the index by:
> for (i in 1:3) print(x[i,x[i,4]])
[1] 11
[1] 23
[1] 32
>
> for (i in 1:3) {x[i,x[i,4]] <- x[i,x[i,4]] + 5}
> x
