Finding & replacing non-ASCII characters
Hi guys,
Are there any feasible methods in searching & finding non-ASCII characters
in R?
For example, from the following object,
x <- mia. SzaÌmitaÌó
The desired output is,
x.out <- mia. SzaImitaIA
Your help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

[buildSchedGraph] memory dependencies
Hi,
(This only concerns MISNeedChainEdge(), and is separate from D8705)
I found out that the MIScheduler (pre-ra) could not handle a simple test
case (test/CodeGen/SystemZ/alias-01.ll), with 16 independent load / add
/ stores.
The buildSchedGraph() put too many edges between memory accesses, because
1) There was no implementation of areMemAccessesTriviallyDisjoint() for
SystemZ.

Package nleqslv ERROR
Dear all,
I am relatively new to R and have had some difficulty in understanding an error i get when running a code to solve a system of non-linear equations, with four equations and two variables.
This is my code:

Santi,
In the second line of your function you have the following:
f <- numeric(length(x))
This sets the length of this numeric vector (i.e., "f") to the length of the vector "x".
Later, inside the function you assign to values to 4 elements of the vector "f".
This assumes that "f" is at least 4 element in length.
However, you define

[LLVMdev] MIScheduler + AA: Missed scheduling opportunity in MIsNeedChainEdge. Bug?
Hello,
While tuning the MIScheduler for my target, I discovered a code that unnecessarily restricts the scheduler. I think this is a bug, but I would appreciate a second opinion.
In file ScheduleDAGInstrs.cpp, the function MIsNeedChainEdge determines whether two MachineInstrs are ordered by a memory dependence. It first runs through the standard criteria (Do both instructions access memory?

Convert daily data to weekly data
Dear Petr,
Thanks for your reply and the solution. The example dataset contains data
for the first six days of the year 1986. "X1986.01.01.10.30.00" is 01
January 1986 and the rest of the variable is redundant information. The
last date is given as "X2016.12.31.10.30.00".
I realized that I missed one information in my previous email, I would like
to compute the weekly average

tinc-1.0pre8 fails to compile on RH 9.0
Hi,
I had posted a similar question a few days back(but my mails started

My System: Rh 9.0 (2.4.20-13.9), openssl-0.9.7a-5, openssl-devel-0.9.7a-5
Autoconf tools: autoconf-2.57-3, automake-1.6.3-5

When I do a ./configure, it aborts saying:

Per-process QoS on Linux?
Hello,
I''ve tried searching for this but I don''t seem to be able to find a way to
search past archives in this list.
Is there a way to get a per-process qos functionality in linux? At this very
moment, I''m using with success a kind of ''workaround'' in my server, which
involves creating multiple virtual ethernet interfaces with different IPs

fractional factorial design in R
Hi,
i need to create a fractional factorial design sufficient to estimate the
main effects.
The factors may have any number of levels, let's say any number from 2 to 6.
I've tried to use the library conf.design , but i cannot figure out how to
write the code.
For example, what is the code for a design with 5 factors (2x3x3x5x2) and
only main effects not confounded?
thanks in advance!

Shapley Values
Hi,
I am trying to compute the Shapley Values between a set of p independent
variables (x1, ..., xp) and the dependent variable y to study the
relationships.
I believe that the package "kappalab" could be an appropriate choice.
Is anybody able to give me some hints about the code I should write?
Any better package?
thanks in advance!

R binomial RNG stuck at 1 via Fortran call
Hi,
I have some trouble with the result of a fortran function calling the R
binomial RNG:
The C function rbinom is wrapped as in the file attached.
My main fortran program starts as
call rndstart()
and ends as
call rndend()
I happen to call the binomial RNG within a loop as
b = ggrbinom(1.d0,0.5d0)
write(*,*) 'b=',b
In certain cases, after a few iterations in the loop,
b get

if I define:
subsample<-c("2")
i can extract the rows from matriX based on the elements in vectorY which
are listed in subsample
