I know this issue has been already covered, and before you reply I must say
I have read the R-FAQ and search the mailing list archive.

clear answer.

writing function
Dear group,
I am trying to write functions, but as a beginner, everything is not so
obvious.
Let's say I want the results in a list of elemts like this :
tot1, tot2, etc
Here is a function:
toto <-
function(x,y)
{
for(i in x:y){
paste(c("tot",i),collapse="")<-(i*2)
}
}
If I type this :
>toto(1,5)
I get this message error:

Bug#270019: serial/lp rules for logcheck
At the moment I've no host with which to test ppp/lp things on. If you (or
anyone) could provide complete regexes, (each beginning with ^ and ending with
$) I will patch the rules accordingly.
If not, sending the full log lines is a good start.
Thanks!

reading json tables
I'm trying to read two data sets in json format from a single .js file.
I've tried fromJSON()
in both RJSONIOIO and RJSON packages, but they require that the lines be
pre-parsed somehow in ways I don't understand. Can someone help?

Re: Links 2003 & Grand Prix 4
Update:
Grand Prix 4 plays almost flawlessly with Catalyst 10.6 and WINE 1.2rc3..
HOWEVER, over the past few releases of WINE (audio work), I've noticed that partly through the playback of Grand Prix 4, the audio suddenly stops. Prior to 1.2rc3, Grand Prix 4 used to crash shortly thereafter. However, since WINE 1.2rc3, after the audio stops, Grand Prix 4 continues without crashing ... just

Error messages using nonlinear regression function (nls)
Hi all,
I am trying to use nonlinear regression (nls) to analyze some seed germination data, but am having problems with error codes.
The data that I have closely matches the germination dataset included in the drc package.
Here is the head of the data

Error messages using nonlinear regression function (nls)
Hi
Keep your messages in the list, you increase your chance to get some answer.
I changed your data to groupedData object (see below), but I did not find any problem in it.
plot(wlg)
gives reasonable picture and I am not such expert to see any problem with data. Seems to me, that something has to be wrong with nlsList function.

seq() function accuracy inacceptable (PR#8779)
Full_Name: Johannes Prix
Version: 2.1.1
OS: WinXP, SuSE Linux
Submission from: (NULL) (137.208.41.195)
The seq-command produces unnescessary inaccurate results, which can be extremely
annoying. I absolutely do not see the nescessity of numerical garbage to appear
in the following simple case. E.g. try this:
> seq ( 61.55 , 62.00 , by=0.01 ) - round ( seq ( 61.55 , 62.00 , by=0.01 ) ,
