Plotting log-axis with the exponential base to a plot with the default logarithm base 10
Hello! I have a problem which I have tried to solve for several days now.. I have plottet a lineplot.CI in the library "sciplot", and I am trying to plot it with a logaritmic y-axis (with exponential base). The problem is that; when I type "log "y"", the axis transforms into the logaritmic of base 10. I wonder if someeone could tell me how to specify that I would

[Fwd: Re: Plotting log-axis with the exponential base to a plot with the default logarithm base 10]
Hello! Thank you for answering! What I am trying to do is to plot my raw values (biomass of different species) on a logaritmic y-axis with the base of e. When I type "log="y"", the axis transforms into a logaritmic axis with the base of 10. lineplot.CI in "sciplot": option "ci.fun" can't be changed?
hi List and Manuel, I have encounter the following problem with the function "lineplot.CI".? I'm running R 2.10.1, sciplot 1.0-7 on Win XP.? It seems like it's a scoping issue, but I couldn't figure it out. Thanks! ...Tao > lineplot.CI(x.factor = dose, response = len, data = ToothGrowth)??? ## fine > lineplot.CI(x.factor = dose, response = len, data = ToothGrowth,

R: log-normal distribution and shapiro test
Hi, from what you're writing: "The logaritmic transformation "shapiro.test(log10(y))" says: W=0.9773, p-value= 2.512e-05." it seems the log-values are not distributed normally and so original data are not distributed like a log-normal: the p-value is extremally small! Other tests for normality are available in package: nortest compare the log-transformation of your ecdf

fitting a line to a logaritmic plot
Hi, I have processed measurements of a rough surface to a heigh-height correlation plot. What the meaning of this exactly is, is not important. Only that it is a plot that had two (almost ) linear parts when plotted on a logaritmic scale. In this plot, I want to draw the best fitting lines for these linear parts but I just can't get it done. It is easy when the scales are linear but as you

lattice logaritmic scale (basis "e" ), rewriting labels using xscale.component
Hi there, sorry for troubling everybody once again, I've got a problem rewriting Sarkar's function for rewriting the tick locations in a logaritmic way (s. http://lmdvr.r-forge.r-project.org/code/Chapter08.R): His example works for log 2 but I need log e (natural logarithm). My problem is that if I replace 2 with "e" (using paste()), I get the error message that the location

continuous shading in plots
Hi, Can someone help me with the following? I currently have the following plot: plot(c(0,14,0,14),c(0,5,0,5),ann = FALSE, xaxs="i", yaxs="i",bty="L" ) polygon(c(0,18,18), c(0,6,0), col='light grey', border = NA) polygon(c(0,18,18), c(0,2,0), col='grey', border = NA) However, I would like to make such a plot, but where there is a continuous shading

lineplot.CI problem
Hi List, I have a problem plotting data using the lineplot.CI command in the sciplot package. I want to plot the data of 2 experimental cases using different lines (traces). Time is on the X-axis. The tricky thing is that the data collection in the second case started later than for the first case. This is to say: the first n data points for the second case are missing. So far so good. However,

avas and ace
Hi, Does any one know how we can decide on the correct transformation in (avas and ace) after having drawn the graphs y,g(y) x ,s(x) and g(y) ,s(x) . Is it possible by only looking at patterns the graphs follow for example when y ,g(y) shows a logaritmic pattern can we say that log transform on y is suitable? Thanks for your help. DierckxSpline fitting with different sets of y-values in one time
Dear "R" users, I have a question about the Package DierckxSpline. I have tried to find the answer by myself but it didn't worked out. I wondered if Dierckxspline can use different sets of y values in one time to fit a line with knot. I have different sets of Y values representing the same thing for different voxels (in an fmri image). I have already fitted the data in different

xen-create-image: command not found?
Hello, after I fixed one problem, the next one raised up. I am trying to create a guest domain. I specified the configurations in /etc/xen-tools/xen-tools.conf and I ran $sudo xen-create-image --hostname=virtualrouter1 --role=udev the output is: sudo: xen-create-image: command not found I searched all directories for a file with this name but couldn''t find any. Is this possible? I am

sciplot question
Hi, I would like to have lineplot.CI and barplot.CI to actually plot confidence intervals , instead of standard error. I understand I have to use the ci.fun option, but I'm not quite sure how. Like this : > qt(0.975,df=n-1)*s/sqrt(n) but how can I apply it to visualize the length of the student's T confidence intervals rather than the stdandard error of the plotted means

introducing jitter in overlapping graphs using ggplots (plotmeans). Also sciplot.
Hi, I want to plot means with standard deviations of Total Nitrogen (TN) across 4 stations (S1-S4) and over 3 years (2007-2009). I want this plot in one panel. I do not want medians (bwplot, boxplot). I have tried a few different packages and it seems that ggplots with plotmeans was the fastest (I am not extremely skilled in writing my own scripts). Unfortunately, there is no grouping

Barplot and plot means with confidence intervals in the same plot
I want to obtain a barplot with error bars and a mean plot with error bars with other scale on the left in the same plot. I need help to get the same x axis (centered) when overlay two plots (barplot2 and plotCI (or lineplot.CI) with errorbars), with diferent y axis. I use par (new=T) but the X axis names are not centered with the figures. An example of my data:

log scale y axis ticks control?
Hello R Users! I'm using lattice to produce some graphs with logaritmic y-scales. I use the command xyplot(hits ~ c(1:1024), data=eichData, type="S", scales=list(y = list(log=10))) to create the plot. This is fine, except for the automatically choosen tick marks. I'd like to have a major tick at the 10^n location and minor ticks in between which correspond with the native

log scale y axis ticks control on boxplots
