time difference
Hi, Does anyone know how to take a time difference when the format of the time is as 13:22:23.586? I am trying to take the difference of time between stock transactions and need to keep the three decimal places for seconds. I have tried *diff(strptime(x, "%H:%M:%S.000))*, but apperantly that doesn't work. Carol Gao [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Adding new column variable to a existing spreadsheet
Hi, I've got a csv format of file. There are seven columns of variables all together, and I've used the diff() function to take the differences between the variables in one column. Now I want to add the differences as the 8th column variable to the csv file. Is there any way that I can do this? Thanks in advance. Carol Gao [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

OH323 + G729 + Go2Call
hi .. i've just installed and licensed an instance of the G729 codec. I am trying to connect through asterisk to Go2Call server .. According to their info it involves dialling extension 729 on voip01.go2call.com, to get the IVR. my extensions.conf shows : exten => s,2,Dial(OH323/h323:729@216.52.153.206) which I think is correct, I have G729 enabled in the OH323.conf file and it seems to

Add ID numbers on a plot
Dear List, I have (for example) 50 observations collected from 50 experimental sites and want to look at changes of 50 observations as function of time in a graph. I found that I could do that using R-code below: time2 <- 1:25 y1=rnorm(25, mean=0, sd=1) y2=rnorm(25, mean=0, sd=1) ... y50=rnorm(25, mean=2, sd=1) plot(time2, y1, type='b', xlim=range(0,30), ylim=range(y1, y2),

Extracing only Unique Rows based on only 1 Column
To Whomever is Interested, I have spent several days searching the web, help files, the R wiki and the archives of this mailing list for a solution to this problem, but nonetheless I apologize in advance if I have missed something obvious. The problem is this; I have a 5-column data frame with about 4.2 million rows, and want to create a new (and hopefully much smaller) data frame that

improving a bar graph
Hello, Below is the code for a basic bar graph. I was seeking advice regarding the following: (a) For each time period there are values from 16 people. How I can change the colour value so that each person has a different colour, which recurs across each of the three graphs/tie epriods? (b) I have seen much more sophisticated examples using lattice (e.g each person has a separate

Post-hoc t-tests in 2-way repeated measure ANOVA
Hi all I am running a 2-way repeated measure anova with 1 between-subjects factor (Group=treatment, control), and 1 within-subject factor (Time of measurement: time1, time2). I extract the results of the anova with: summary(aov(effect ~ Group*Time + Error=Subj/Time, data=mydata)) Now, this must be clearly a dumb question, but how can I quickly extract in R all the post-hoc t-tests for the

What determines the unit of POSIXct differences?
Dear All, what determines if a difference between POSIXct objects gets expressed in days or seconds? In the following example, it's sometimes seconds, sometimes days. as.POSIXct('2009-09-01') - as.POSIXct(NA) Time difference of NA secs c(as.POSIXct('2009-09-01'), as.POSIXct(NA)) - c(as.POSIXct('2009-09-01'), as.POSIXct('2009-08-31')) Time differences in
