3D Graph Surface and single points (eg wireframe with points)
Hallo!
?
I just want to make a 3D plot of a surface of a cone and want to plot some single points around.
?
I tried wireframe but cannot find how to plot single points
?
I tried scatterplot3d but there the surface is not simple to plot. And: How can I rotate the point of view by the z-axis
?
I tried persp3d but how can I add some single points?

Dear all,
Thank you for any help. I have a data.frame and would like to plot

Surface plotting
Hi,
I would like to plot a matrix which comprises 3 columns.
So first column should be the x-axis.
Second the y-axis and the third one should be the z-axis.
I know that I can plot such data using the scatterplot3d, but I would like
to
have a surface plot like you can do with wireframe and persp. But both,
persp and wireframe,
want to have x and y as descending data, at least persp. I am not sure

Grafico en 3D
Buenas tardes,
Podria por favor alguien ayudarme a descifrar por que no es posible ver la
grafica 3D cuando se utiliza lattice? Ya se que algunas veces los duendes
hacen de las suyas, pero no estoy seguro de que este sea el caso. He
reiniciado R, cambiado a RStudio y utilizado XP, pero no pasa "nada".

3D Surface plot
Dear All,
I want to create a surface plot from the data. My data set is consists of x,
y and z data.
I plotted in very easy way by Excel worksheet as shown in the attached
picture.
I did some steps in R, but I cannot have the same plot as in Excel
worksheet's figure.
the R code is
x <- c(-1,-0.75,-0.5,-0.25,0,0.25,0.5,0.75,1)
y<- c(-1,-0.75,-0.5,-0.25,0,0.25,0.5,0.75,1)

Drape 3D scatterplot
Hi,
*Warning: R newb here. *
I've got a 3D scatterplot (
http://www.fleetwoodswoodworks.com/scatterPlot.jpg) which I want to drape
in color, with the draped plane corresponding to the mean z values on the
plot (similar to: http://www.fleetwoodswoodworks.com/draped3Dscatterplot.jpg).
Does anyone know what package will allow me to do this? I used *
scatterplot3d()* for my first plot. I've

3d plotting alternatives. I like persp, but regret the lack of plotmath.
I have been making simple functions to display regressions in a new
package called "rockchalk". For 3d illustrations, my functions use
persp, and I've grown to like working with it. As an example of the
kind of things I like to do, you might consult my lecture on
multicollinearity, which is by far the most detailed illustration I've
prepared.

two plots side-by-side with persp3d(rgl)
Dear R-users,
I would like to place two 3D plots side-by-side in a rgl-setting. It would nice to have something like "par(mfrow=c(1,2))" for basic plots, or an array framework for wireframe(lattice) (see example below). I only managed to overlap two persp3d plots.
My final idea would be to animate both surfaces using play3d(rgl).
Thanks in advance for any help.

plot3d, wireframe, persp help
Hello,
I am trying to get a surface plot of a data set that looks like the following,
1 2 5.6
5 9 2.4
9 8 9.8
... to (60,000 rows down)
From my homework, the persp function only works with evenly spaced data points with the z data beeing in a matrix. my data is not in that format.
the wireframe fxn gives me an error,
no applicable method for "wireframe"

persp or wireframe 3D plot: how can I independently adjust linewidth of the 'surface' and framebox?
It is a trivial matter to adjust the linewidth of the axes and plot
line in a 2D plot:
x <- 1:10;
y <- 1:10;
par(lwd=2); # axis (and others) linewidth
plot(x,y,"l",lwd=6); # plot linewidth
Is there anything comparable to this for persp or wireframe? I've
tried a number of ways, and the framebox/axes seem to be linked to
the linewidth used in generating the

Layering multiple persp plots
Hi all,
I've got two persp plots with Identical X and Y's, and I'd like to plot them
on the same graph, so that it is obvious where one plot is above the other.
I can't find any mention of this anywhere. Do I need to use wireframe?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,

3D-plotting a 2D-matrix that contains z-values (3rd dimension)
Hello,
say I have a 2D-matrix (indexed by x and y), which contains
z values, which I want to plot over x-y.
Either dotted, or if possible as a landscape.
I tried around with persp and plot3d (from rgl)
and persp3d (from rgl).
I sometimes get something that looks good and a while later, when
trying some new data I need to worry about that again.
Is there something lika a convenience function

empty wireframe
Perhaps I am missing something incredibly basic, but I can't get the
wireframe function to plot anything other than an empty graph with
axes (and the correct scale). Cloud() works just fine, as does
scatterplot3d(), and wireframe() works fine for other data sets I
have. Are there some data sets that can't be plotted with
wireframe()? If so, what are the characteristics that prevent

How to plot 3-D surface graph from lmer mixed models?

how to plot two surfaces with lattice::wireframe
Hi all,
I'd like to plot the Real and Imaginary parts of some f(z) as two
different surfaces in wireframe (the row/column axes are the real and
imag axes). I know I can do it by, roughly speaking, something like
plotz <- expand.grid(x={range of Re(z)}, y={range of Im(z), groups=1:2)
plotz$func<-c(Re(f(z),Im(f(z))
wireframe(func~x*y,data=plotz,groups=groups)
But that seems like a

3d plot
Hi,
I would like to have 3d plot, and I found that there is a command "scatterplot3d". x is V, y=sigmaV, and z=TSE (note: After some calculation, I update TSE). How could I do to have 3d plot I want?
V<-seq(1279,1280,,100)
sigmaV<-seq(0.28,0.29,,100)
TSE<-matrix(0, length(V),length(sigmaV))
ps: TSE[i,j] corresponds to V[i] and sigmaV[j].
Thanks,
Kate

Plotting 3d data?
Hi all!
I'm very new to R, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to go from a file
of points that I have to a 3d surface plot of the data. I typically have
something like this:
X Y Z
0.005 0.023 34.45
0.0035 0.63 28.48
.
I've tried looking at the persp and wireframe packages, and the rgl package,
but I can't seem to figure out how to

interaction term and scatterplot3d
Dear Listers,
I would be interested in representing a trend surface including an
interaction term z = f(x,y,x.y) - eg the type of chart obtained with
persp() or wireframe(), then adding datapoints as a cloud, ideally with
dots which are under the surface in a color, and those who are above in
another color. An other option would be to draw segments between the
dots and the ground of the
